    Need to interview Dr. Cristin Dickerson, founder of Green Imaging. They have independent imaging centers all over the country. The key is to avoid hospitals as much as possible. Find doctors who are independent and not employed by a hospital system.

    But this wouldn't work in CA, MA, NJ, and RI where individual mandates are in place to fine you if you don't have traditional coverage. I'm in CA and a carnivore who is metabolically healthy with a high LDL, so doc wants me on statins yet won't order the tests like a coronary calcium scan to determine 'risk' or disease so I'm doing that independently out of pocket tomorrow for $177. I'd love to do a la carte medical care and avoid the insurance-driven mandates, but until the mandates are removed it's unavoidable. Keep this in mind if you live in one of these states.

      My brother in CA is almost 60. Self employed and very healthy. He has no medical insurance and refused on principle to purchase obummercare. As punishment and outright theft (because that is what it is) he has to pay $900 each year at tax time. It's disgusting...

    • @truehealth992
      @truehealth992 Месяц назад +2

      Yes ridiculous. We live in MA. Soon we won’t have health ins. And there are no good options. Pay a fine or pay for expensive health insurance.

    • @kelleyfrances490
      @kelleyfrances490 Месяц назад

      @@findingserenity5294 Yes, it's theft and it's just another upside down legislation to fine the healthy to pay for the unhealthy or the uninsured. I'm 60 and just got my scan results and I have no signs of plaque or osteoporosis and I don't take meds, so I don't need monthly coverage as I only go once a year for blood draw. I'd rather pay Judy or a nutritionist who understands my lifestyle to do the blood work and adjust as I go. While my Vit D level is in the green, it is too low for me, so I'm adjusting my intake with sun and supplements. I'm managing my own health and would love to pay for it a la carte on my own, but not in stupid Cali.

    Hubby had to have an emergency appendectomy at the beginning of the year. (We were already listed as “self-pay” because we don’t have insurance.) All the bills together came to about $13,500.00 Agreeing to pay all the different entities in cash, he got the bills down to just over $7,000.00. That’s not even doing any price comparison as is described at around the 16:00 mark. We keep vision insurance and dental insurances and we keep an FSA. Our medical insurance would cost us $18K in premiums/yr + a $2800 deductible. So, the way I see it, we are ahead by at least $13,800.00. If there is co-insurance after that $2800 deductible, which there often is w/ major medical procedures, then we are ahead by even more. All I know is that the last time our premiums went up, (less than 6mo after the last renewal), I said, “Enough! We’re not doing this anymore.”

    In Nederland just need to pay insurance and we seldom go to doctor with keto diet. Every mounth pay 140€. And no tax return even we don't have to visit the doctors. Basically is the way for gaverment ask the healthy people's to pay for the sick people's. If the gaverment do care of the people's they should educate the people go keto diet not no meat diet.

Does Crowd Health have any info on this?

    Don't you get a higher tax bill if you don't have insurance?

    • @catherinesiler2190
      @catherinesiler2190 2 месяца назад +1

      Sort of. If you are getting your insurance through your employer, which most people in the U.S. are, then your income is taxed *after* your premium is deducted. Also, Trump removed the penalty for lack of coverage that was initially in place at the start of Obamacare. Of course, if you don’t have coverage and your out-of-pocket expenses reach a certain amount in a year, that can be tax deductible so, it’s really how your individual situation works out.
