Technically the first appearance of the black wings *chronologically in the timeline* was at the end of the Necromancer arc. But then I remembered how that doesn't make any sense just like many things in the Accelerator manga I'd rather forget about.

He can alter reality, and what I mean is this, accelerator in the world war III arc stopped his death you know from gabriel angel guy, he should of died from the blood lost so I then realized that mabye he can alter reality to make himself live.
And he can use magic I think.
Another move is vector transmission, this ability allows him to change the direction and magnitude of any vector that attacks him or he wants to use, whilst vector control, let's him manipulate them, sorry for flexing on this, but I hope you can do more stuff on accelerator. @@ghost3550 Yes they appeared there first officially. But in Toaru no Kagaku no Accelerator they decided to put the black wings there, and that arc is chronologically before the Academy City Invasion Arc in the timeline.... but yes I still consider the Invasion Arc to be the first appearance despite this.
There is also one thing to mention, that whenever Accelerator wings showed up he had some form of contact with magic or some other unknown form of power.
Like the first time when index was singing the magic song, the time when he fought kakine's dark matter.
In the 2nd fight with touma, before misaka worst landed he was attacked by some kind of magic attack.
The time with aiwass and last the time he sings a magic song himself to save last order.
Heck even in the stupid necromancer arc he was subjected to some form of magic before those stupid wings showed up.

Not that I forgot to include them, I would never draw a connection with lines from OT2 with Accelerator but very interesting if that is foreshadowing to him? But I'm not sure if it is.
This could also foreshadow Angel Dragon in a way as well, with it being base on a Seraph and burst within Touma's arm after IB got cut off.

My fan-theory regarding the choker is Accelerator's brain is healing over time. That's why a few months later he can use his shield after the battery dies and a few months after that he can talk without it.

Do you think Aleister has toyed with Telesma, and that Esper powers are heavily altered magic? There are too many similarities. And even Index referred to the wings as being made to something akin to Telesma, but different.

Yes I believe in NT18 it states that Aleister was able to summon telesma during his Golden Dawn days. And from his mastery of Christian magic he demonstrated in NT21, its hardly surprising.
Aiwass is supposed to be the angel of science yet he can use magic. So yes, it is likely that the two powers were once the same, but I'm just theorising. They definitely have a connection.
They are pretty much scientific wizards.
But ironically the magical system in the series works much like a science than the esper abilities.
I believe that the scientific calculations espers do in their minds is Aleister's way to mimic how magicians cast their spells verbally, but in a faster and more subtle way.

I believe Esper Powers come from the Phase magical theory. Each esper has a phase in "their eyes" that alters the world for them. This explains why they can't use magic, because their "world" is different, and thus they would need different rules that worked in "their" world. All those micro phases together form the Imaginary Number District, the "whole" Esper Phase. This would explain why magicians have the same side effects when that district manifested during the Academy Invasion arc.
I agree that his wings are compressed AIM. I also have a theory that AIM is an artificial Telesma as the imaginary number district is also made up by AIM it also has the name of the artificial haven.
Ahhhhhhhh Kamachi created one of the most OP characters I have ever seen. Regarding the Black wings didn't he and Heavenly Canceler have a talk and Aliester said something like that he has successfully inputted the with the numerical settings of the AIM diffusion fields into Accelerator? I forgot what volume it was I think it was OT13. It looks like Aliester's plan of making Accelerator even stronger has succeeded I'm curious to see him fight again although he has to make it through this trial first. I wonder what other Esper's will receive an ''Awakening''
Of course. While the choker made him look 'weaker' on the surface, Aleister planned Accel to utilise the full power of the network/clonoth by linking him to it. It would also make Accel easier to manipulate via the network.

I always thought Accelerator controlled the direction and magnitude of every particle, instead of just manipulation vector quantities. Even though that’s weaker, it’s still cool.

I went an re-read a bit of the novel, and in fact, I think even Aleister knew that Accelerator was operating on the Aeon of Osiris (black wings), and not the Aoen of Horus (Aiwass level) in an exchange he had with the frog-faced doctor:
“Good morning, Aleister. How do you feel after that unrestrained rampage?”
“Quite good. Things have finally shifted into the second stage. But it is still too early to call my actions ‘unrestrained’.”
The sound was so surprisingly clear it made one question whether a standard telephone line was being used. It would have sounded plausible to hear a completely different type of cable was connected to that phone.
But the frog-faced doctor was used to it.
As he had told Accelerator, he had known about the dark side of the world for quite some time.
“Too early, hm? How long do you plan on using Accelerator and Last Order?”
“Who knows. I am more worried about whether they will last to the end. The numerical settings for the AIM diffusion fields were just finished being inputted into the vector control device, but the level of completion in the other is a bit lacking. I could also make a trinity out of Accelerator, Last Order, and Fuse Kazakiri, but that would not be enough. I must go beyond that.”
Heavily implies that Aleister planned that Accelerator would pass into at least the Aeon of Osiris and that his black wings were not a duex ex machina and were in fact all part of Aleister's keikaku, for anyone trying to argue that part! haha!

Interesting you say that. In the book of revelation, the devil takes the form of a dragon and fights the Archangel Michael. Touma has dragons in him so it can't be a coincidence.

I was under the impression that Accelerator's ability was called "Vector Transformation". And the name "Accelerator" it was his codename, as in a nickname not the name of his ability.
The English dub calls it Vector Transformation. Its called Vector Control in other translations. And no, Accelerator is his ability, just like how Mental Out, Meltdowner and Dark Matter are for the other Level 5s

I mean, u explain everything very well, but it's still very hard to understand, specially if I don't normally speak English.

I mean Kuroko said in a certain episode that her power uses 11 dimension calculation, so it's possible that accelerator understand the calculation and know how to handle it.

i fell his wings are becuse how his powers handles magic. each time he got wings some form of magic happen not long befor that and he was around, hit with used or mimic some of it. like singing the song, being tide to a fake angle that momick anigl magic. After useing magic for the 1st time he got the white wings and it is also after figting magic and useing his powers on it for the 1st time as well. and platim is after he made a contract with her and got knowlage of root magic push his powers futher. So it likly how his powers act with things that defies reagler pyichs and it trys to adapt to it to countrol it. this would also explin why his wings fighting number 2 becam much stronger and was then able to destroy other matter. somthing simaler to the dark matter #2 was making.

@@AeonofHorus I think the halo was supposed to be more symbolic, because it represents the first time accelerator sees himself as a good person and has the compassion to save LO. it was more a figurative thing than a physical object to show his breakthrough.
where to read the manga ?
3:50 is dubious, no information can travel faster than light, meaning Accelerator being able to process information from light before it reaches him, subconsciously or not, is questionable.
Especially when we consider 6:16 which implies a delay in the shield's mechanic.
It's science fiction. And espers warp reality with their minds so its not inconceivable.
I'd like it if the "science" side was a little more scientifically accurate. The reality warp doesn't explain the inconsistency with 6:16.
@@unstablepc5913 Why not? What's the inconsistency? Also I don't see a problem with scientifically incorrect powers being scientifically correct in universe as long as its explained. Almost every science fiction work utilises real world science and bends it to make stuff interesting, cause it's supposed to be entertaining. Hence, science 'fiction'. But ofcourse, its about personal preference.
Couldn’t accelerator just use a calculation that reflects everything past a certain speed regardless of what it is? So even if something travels at the speed of light it wouldn’t matter since the calculation needed to reflect it would already have been activated. I mean using one calculation to reflect everything would have to be easier than using multiple calculations to filter what’s needed and what’s not. The timing kihara Amara uses would just be the window between when everything is reflected and when the filter takes effect. It would make a lot more sense than just simple reality warping.
@@mimijeet9921 There's a line between contriving things for convenience and bending the laws of nature. Making Accelerator immune to radiation/lasers, but not to the Kihara counter is a massive inconsistency.

Accelerator is basically bender from Avatar but he has no limits on elements
8:10 I see it said everywhere that the wings do the calculations for him, but the first time he used the wings(against Amata), its noted that his reflection didn't come back. If they did they calculated for him, it should have.
Later parts of New Testament sort of back that too, with Accelerator still being worried about his battery despite apparently being able to use the wings at will.
When amata threw the grenade at his face, he was still in the process of gaining a new clearance from index's song. He face tanked the grenade because of his angelic physiology. And after gaining the new clearance, his powers were back as well as his reflection.
He is not dependant on the wings and the wings do not stays forever. Also, he still needs his battery to use his powers or even bring out the wings. It is only when his life is in grave danger the wings appears regardless the network.
@@justsomeguywithgreenhair We know the his angel powers boost his durability, we have examples of that, but is never said or shown that they bring back his reflection. If anything, later novels in New Testament show the opposite, since he still worries about his battery power multiple times.
He doesn't need the battery to use his wings(except maybe the platinum ones). His battery was explicitly dead when he used his black wings for the first time.
He can use the platinum wings at will at the end of New Testament(or at least the Puzzle can trigger them for him).

Since the wings brings back his powers and makes him even stronger, it is only natural to think that they also brings back his reflection too. Also, it is literally stated in the LN that his reflection was working well when he went to block the thelesma in his winged state.
Like I said, he is not dependent on the wings, just like he dodges even when he could just reflect it away because hs is not too dependent on his reflection. The wings are like emergency measures. The wings responds to his emotions and do not lasts forever. In the end, he still needs the battery to do stuffs.

I never said he's dependent on his wings or reflection. Im saying his wings don't do his calculations and bring back his vector field. If they do, cite it. What novel proves or says this? He seems to trigger the platinum wings at will fighting Elizard, and the first he uses them emotion didn't play a factor, but rather the Will of the Network and his demon.

His battery ran out in both cases and he was able to use his powers thanks to the wings. He wasn't connected to the misaka network at the time and still used his powers to a greater degree. That's why it is said that the wings does the calculations for him. What's so difficult to understand here?
If the wings do not brings back his powers, then what does they do? Kihara amata literally says that he gained a new clearance by inputting unknown values in his personal reality. And that new clearance worked as a substitude for the misaka network for a short period of time. What novel proves or says otherwise?
The platinum wings are completely different thing. He gained those by crossing the abyss. And it might be connected to the clonoth or misaka network. It changed the nature of his AIM by including magic in his calculations. Emotion has nothing to do with it.

The way you are able to bypass him is sending an attack that is way too complicated to calculate (dark matter early in their fight) or doesnt even belong in the normal human laws (stuff like a demon or magic god attack) before he adapts

Alright, but one thing, if Accelerator is touching you then does that mean you can touch him? Like...Uh, Garou, whenever he gets hit, he could just reply with a much faster punch to the person at the same time. Would the same work with Accelerator? He hits someone but they are fast enough to hit him back at the same time, or would his Vector Shield somehow just redirect it despite Accelerator touching them? Sorry, I know I am late lol
He has to let you touch him. Even if he's touching you, it doesn't necessarily mean you can do it back. The vector field works on a whitelist and only let certain things in.

Guys, I really need a genuine answer. Platinum Wings version is already overpowered and it goes into 11th dimension. However, after many anime characters power research, I think there's a power to disable him, if not defeat him, without vector involved. That is Heavy Weather, a rainbow that turn everyone into snail by subliminal messages. I have an impression that Heavy Weather is deadly enough to solo some animes but my doubt is that if subliminal is one of the 11th dimension or not. Please let me know in the comment.
