Here’s a story I just heard. Uk is raising the tax on cars depending on the co2 emissions up to $5,500 per year for a v8 mustang for example. Less money for lower emissions. What a brilliant way to eliminate high pollution cars.
Which pollutant are you talking about ? Co2 ? Unburnt fuel containing benzene a known carcinogenic? Co2 os not a problem despite the media saying it is . 0.04% of the atmosphere is co2 At 0.02 % co2 plant life and our food chain starts to struggle and die as theres not enough co2 in the atmosphere to sustain the food chain. And as evidence that c02 is not the issue why do tunnel houses that grow tomatoes, courgettes and a number of other veges add co2 inside the tunnels to help increase food production??? ,up around 1600 ppm. 0.04% is about 480 ppm 0.02 % is 240ppm.
Last year at the Melbourne e.v. auto show I was talking to a Xpeng representative and he told me that the G9 would be coming to Australia in 2025 . Last week I test drove a G6 and again asked a Xpeng representative when will the G9 be coming to Australia and he told me that it had been delayed and now wouldn't be coming until 2026.
Great looking car but but where is the mass produced self driving van that can take standard pallet and long enough to sleep in? In a world of autonomy where people can just pay per ride or delivery millions of those would make more sense than cars aimed at end user owners.
I don't think they start measuring from the time the atoms were fused together in the formation of our solar system. I think they measure the speed between new cars as they exit the production line in a car factory.
@ Rust on cybertruck isn’t a thing. Panel gaps are no longer an issue. And yes 400v battery = slower charging. 95% of people charge at home so it’s more or less irrelevant. Here’s what’s relevant, 1) Tesla has THE safest crash test in the industry for several years running. 2) Has the highest customer satisfaction in China and one of the best in the industry. 3) The best user interface, with constant over the air updates 4) The best FSD (v13.2.2 is epic). It can drive you anywhere with basically no interventions. 5) they’re becoming exceedingly reliable and cost of ownership is quite low now, much less than ICE 6) Great handling, great acceleration and a really comfortable ride. 7) Excellent sound system and so on… Have you ever driven one? If not your opinion means very little. Just ignorance.
@ Cybertruck also has a lot of industry first. 1) 48v architecture. They gave tha intellectual property away for other car makers to copy. 2) Steering by wire - which Xiaomi is currently in the process of copying and soon will be copied by everyone else. Tesla has given away a bunch of their patents. They literally pioneered the industry. There would be no Chinese EV industry without Tesla, fact. Just like everyone copied the iPhone, everyone has copied Tesla. Just look at them (interior, basic hardware and software architecture). You can thank Tesla for all of that.
Mona M03 is $16,000 USD, which is about $26,000 AUD, but the australian price is never what the conversion amount is. I get there's transportatin costs, but there's usually $15,000 to $20,000 added to the AUD price.
@@scratchintheitch9472 Most countries have some sort of import duties on vehicles, which is why they are typically not the same as their home countries. Singapore, for example has one of the highest import duties for autos. The US also has duties but, they are also adding tariffs to block Chinese vehicles. Now they re adding CATL to a list of companies doing business with the Chinese government. I don’t know if there is US company at present supplying batteries to car manufacturers. Xpeng is my favorite electric car company and appreciate your coverage of this company here. For many years NIO was the company being hyped, and is still by many. How do you beat Xpeng's world class software, production speed and product line. Tesla does not even have all three. I just sold by Xpeng options, scared by the Chinese economy but am keeping my eye on Xpeng to get back in.
Xpeng has software and flying cars. Nio strength is battery swap an Chery, Changan, Geely have joined their alliance. The ET9 is the most advanced car in the world. Nio has their own chips and not using Nvidia, their software has improved drastically
My thoughts, Sam, are that anyone would be crazy to buy a brand new ICE vehicle at this time. They might get a few years out of it, then they'd have to pay some to tow it away to a scrap metal merchant.
It's hard to compete because the Chinese government is supporting commoditized vehicles. They share the parts among different car manufacturers. This is actually how it should be in my opinion.
Is the total Chinese car market big enough for this production speed? There are big real estate graveyards and EV graveyards in China. One extra innovation and all these cars can be worthless.
Lol too much hate. China loves Tesla. Hence its own 100% company within China. Fyi, without Tesla there wouldn't be the Chinese EV that you have today. They were inspired by Model S. Keep hating as Tesla is getting more successful lol
People that hate Elon haven’t actually heard him speak about his motives. They’re extremely logical and good faith. Mainstream media has lied repeatedly because he doesn’t advertise, was a democrat turned republican and has a competing media company. Prove me wrong!

December 1, 2023 US Regulator Fines Chinese Auditors $7.9M - A year after the US Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) was able to inspect Chinese and Hong Kong audit firms for the first time, the board imposed a $7-million combined fine against PricewaterhouseCoopers Zhong Tian, LLP in Shanghai and PricewaterhouseCoopers in Hong Kong for cheating by personnel on mandatory internal training courses related to US auditing curriculum.
Its not only about the time for production, but its the consumer aiming at low prices and quality.
Sam this is all great but a distribution network needs to happen in Australia
I am holding off my purchase until they have a distribution and maintenance network.
Hey Viking, thanks for all the great videos !!!
Glad you like them!
But what’s the aftermarket, servicing and parts situation here in Australia
It's incredible what china is doing. Thanks for the GREAT content 👍
Appreciate you watching!
If they want to compete, they could, but they don't want to take the risk

It's hard to picture this happening need visuals😊, it would be good to show a video of the vehicles coming out of the production line.

It's a killer!
Wait till they add magnesium thixomoulding to the giga castings in the production line!
he has no clue wat that means this is a copy paste channel m8 hes reading the screen not news
MmmmmmHUH???
If they have 60 of these factories, then they can make 1 car per second!😅

Love the channel. Note that Tesla Shanghai is 30-40s. 72 seconds is fast but not close.
Mind blowing that that where things are at
You cannot make a car in a matter of seconds.

Price and no Elon talking hate too much to overcome....
Impressive, but Tesla can make a car between 30-40 seconds. Still double the time.
