Is it still a UV bulb even though it doesn't say it is, and that's why you recommend it? If so, I'll grab that light in the future after I've gotten used to the bulb setup for faster icing sessions. I ask this, because I think I remember seeing another customizer use this light in their indoor setup, but their setup was not in a storage bin. Which leads me to... 3. If and when I get the Marshhydro light, would it still work in the storage bin, or is there a different kind of indoor setup needed to accommodate that particular light? Given the picture on Amazon, it looks to have a bit more weight on it and simply having it hang in the lid would probably not be ideal. Is the setup the same for that light like the reptile lightbulbs? Is what I'm asking here. Get back to me on Instagram: Di_Ruination, when you can. I can't wait to speak with you. I have some 420 led cool white bulbs that are super, super bright and don't get hot. Each bulb has 420 led lights on them and I bet they'd work good for this.
@@ForResalePurposesOnly I'm not referring to bulbs for growing pot, this is a regular light bulb with 420 led chips on it. here's the link for the ones I have www.ebay.com/itm/420Pcs-LEDs-4200LM-40W-3014-SMD-Light-Bulb-110-220V-E40-E26-E27-B22-White-Lamp/281647830742?hash=item419384d6d6:m:mbY1PXEOTJB-caicXmY_smQ
@@ForResalePurposesOnly I see, sorry for the confusion. Do you think these bulbs would be more effective than the uvb bulbs that you use? These 420 led bulbs that I have are really bright, they burn my eyes and blind me momentarily if I look directly at the bulb while it's on. I have 5 pairs of foamposites that look like they've been sitting in an un flushed urinal for 20 years and it drives me crazy at times so I'd appreciate your advice.
I’ve used this method with salon care 40 and haven’t gotten any dramatic icing results, am I doing something wrong ? What if the light bulbs are too hot and the sauce starts heating up, is the sauce still effective? Do I need a bigger ice box?
Hey Ivan, unfortunately though well let others know if another brand or cheaper alternative to our product is working, go for it! That being said, all of our indoor builds, prep, session length, etc is all tailored to work with our product "Ice Cream" specifically. We found with these optimal steps, Ice Cream produced the best results consistently compared to other brands, products, and alternatives. Unfortunately I cannot be of much help with the hair creams as again these tutorials are all tailored to the properties and results of Ice Cream!
I did the same setup with a smaller box can barely fit one pair with one of those exo terra lights and I put it in for about 5 hours and I couldn’t really see a difference what did I do wrong
Sessions should be 18+ hours when using ice cream in this setup! Give that a try and see. Also be sure to follow the Ice Cream tutorial to make sure you're prepping and cleaning properly before beginning sessions!
Struggling getting my list together with the bulbs. I can find UVB bulbs all day long, but I'm having no luck finding UVA bulbs. I was looking to get two of each...
I did some further research and found out UVB bulbs project UVA wavelengths as well so they work fine lol. I ended up ordering the ones posted in the description. Thank you again for this video and your quick response 🙌🏽...
Mine don't seem to be working very well..I've had them in there for about 2 or 3 days now..I cleaned them and reapplied..I even switched to super bright white LED bulbs ..I was using reptile 26w 150 uvb bulbs in a foil sealed crate..any think I'm could be doing wrong?
Thanks! Hope it helped! And great question, this was actually for a shoe that was being reglued so we decided to iced them with the soles off! However, in cases that don't need a re-glue we put the entire shoe in, same process though!
Bought a exo terra 26 watt uvb 200 bulb for $20 and it lightened my foamposite soles but very slowly. 4 of these bulbs would be $80 So instead I bought a 450 watt full spectrum led grow light for $90 in an auction and this thing turns the poo poo brown soles of my foams icy very fast, before my eyes. Now that I have the proper light my question is does your sauce work better than the 50 volume that I'm using now?
Yes I've heard great things about the "Mars hydro led grow light" a few months after this video, I heard it works awesome! I use 4 bulbs (a little more than one of the mars hydro lights) total. As for the hair creams, those eat away the rubber and break it down on a molecular level. I'm here to provide a solution and help others so if it's working well for you I see no reason to change what your using. You could always upgrade your lights (add more or the mars hydro) and see how that works with the hair stuff, and if it's not making a big difference give ice cream a shot!
@a.d cindo It's full spectrum and works excellent for sole icing. The exo terra bulb I tried at first is UVB but the 450 watt full spectrum grow light works a whole lot better and faster. I don't believe this light has any UV leds on it but it still works and it works fast! It pulls around 200 watts from the wall and it's super bright so maybe its the sheer brightness of it that makes it efficient for icing my soles however I believe that the Ice Cream sauce that RaleighRestorations sells will work alot better than the 50 volume hair cream I use now and I'm gonna give it a shot.
@a.d cindo Not sure but I know the one I have works and here's a link to it. Don't buy the one from this link for $187 though because for that price you can get a 600 watt and it'll probably work even better than the 450W I have. Just search around for this same light at a cheaper price, got mine in an auction. www.ebay.com/itm/MEIZHI-LED-Grow-Light-450W-Full-Spectrum-for-Indoor-Plants-Veg-and-Flower-Dual/252598635580?hash=item3ad00d4c3c:g:-isAAOSwgHZYCyiO
@@ForResalePurposesOnly Yessir, I got one of the cheaper led grow lights so a more expensive one would probably work even better. The Mars hydro 400 pulls around 185 watts from the wall and costs $170 and it doesn't even have a veg and bloom switch or even an on and off switch. the light I bought pulls just under 200 watts from the wall, has all switches and costs about $120 unless you find one cheaper in an auction like I did. Since I'm only using the light for sole icing and not growing pot with it I found on ebay a set of 10 UV led chips that are the same led type and wattage that are on the light so I ordered those for $20 and when they arrive I'm going to swap them with some of the blue leds on the light to see if it improves the sole icing any.

Hey I tried this with three trials and didn’t see any differences, could you post a before and after? That would definitely help. Or if you found anything new that would help the process more could you post
Hey Khi, we'd need a bit more info! What product are you using, how long are your sessions? Did you use the Mylar Film as well as the exact bulbs we used in the video? Any adjustments made to your setup and the info above will help us dissect the issue and start getting your soles back to icy!
@@khijohnson5921 not to knock another product by any means, but I'd assume solebrite is the issue. All of the info and methods for this setup were built around using Ice cream as we've tested its results vigorously. I unfortunately can't help or speak on other products. Again, no need to buy OUR product specifically. However, I can guarantee you'll instantly see a huge change in results if Ice Cream was used with these methods! Let me know if you have any other questions!
You can definitely try adjusting your sessions to 18-24 hours and see if that helps. Again just trying to trouble shoot, so you don't have to buy another product as you already paid for solebrite. That's about all you can try besides using a different product, hopefully this helps you figure it out!
Its a good setup but not that perfect. Whenever you use hydrogen peroxide to ice your soles you want to go straight for UV-C or even VUV-light if you can get your hands on it. UV-C is 15 times stronger that UV-B when it comes to the chemical reaction of hydrogen peroxide.
RaleighRestorations Yeah, go and try it. I had very good results using those. But please be very careful and never expose yourself to UV-C light. It contains very high energy and is very harmful to the skin and eyes.
Thanks for the tip! I see the uvu is (what I'm guessing) is what's used for sanitation so very price. It seems the alkalized metals from the uvc is what acts as a catalyst? Or am I way off?
Now it gets difficult for me cause i am no native speaker in english :D The diffenrence in power between uvc and uvb (and even more uva) comes from the lenght of the lightwaves. The shorter the waves get the more energy they contain. This energy is responsible for the far more reactive behaviour of the hydrogen peroxide because it can build more OH-radicals which are the reason for the uv-oxidation a.k.a. icing. Thats how far i got with my researches :-)
A life saver I’ve been waiting on a detail indoor setup for the longest

What are the black things the bulbs are connected to called
they're called light sockets
I have some 420 led cool white bulbs that are super, super bright and don't get hot. Each bulb has 420 led lights on them and I bet they'd work good for this.
Yeah I've heard grown lights are great! Full spectrum seems to work very well but just a little more expensive!
Ah I assumed it was for growing with the "420" being a reference lol!
It's all about the uv output! I'd read the details to see if they are full spectrum or UVB at minimum!
I can't find the full video on the indoor sessions
Bryan Buchanan working on that now! For now just do the same process as our ice cream tutorial but make your sessions 12-24 hours.
Another great video!
Can we use any other light bulbs such as LED instead of UVB?
We have a few bulbs and lights we know perosnally work here: www.amazon.com/shop/RaleighRestorations?listId=1B4F95BPWFS2E
you don’t use the exo terra lights no more ?
Nope! Check the video description for the best light when using Ice Cream. 10x better, results are insane!
RaleighRestorations do i just buy one or how many ?
@@ogray2635 just one 300w is what I use!
RaleighRestorations ok thank you so much please respond to me on instagram @icy1soles, and thanks for your help

RaleighRestorations yes what account can I dm you from
Any links for the bin you’re using?
I just grabbed one from Target!
RaleighRestorations thanks!
Struggling getting my list together with the bulbs. I can find UVB bulbs all day long, but I'm having no luck finding UVA bulbs. I was looking to get two of each...
The Marshydro 300w on Amazon is perfect for an indoor setup. It's a full spectrum light!
I did some further research and found out UVB bulbs project UVA wavelengths as well so they work fine lol. I ended up ordering the ones posted in the description. Thank you again for this video and your quick response 🙌🏽...
Awesome! Let me know how it goes! That's good info the know!
Would i still be able to lighten my soles for my jordans if i had them by the window with sunlight?
Yep!
I use my gel nail light and they work just fine lol
yeah that spectrum should work great!
Wer is the link for indoor sessions ? I couldn’t find it on under ur vids
What if you use reg energy saving bulbs? Would that work minus the heat problem?
No, not very well.
Aluminum foil? And how long was each session before you removed and reapplied the Ice Cream?
@@ForResalePurposesOnly hours man..at least 6-8 the first session..and then I've left them in there from Friday til now ..
toshai porter what ended up happening ? Did they get icy?
Sessions Should be 18-24 hours with mylar. The aluminum foil isn't doing you any favors!
Great video. Do u put just the soles in there or do u put the entire sneaker in there depending on restore?
Good info man! If I get one and can do some experimenting I'll definitely do an updated video for you guys!
Please reply and help
How long do the light bulbs last?
Ima try this and see if it works
im using a UV light bulb the purple one used for sterilizing
Nice! how's that working out?
RaleighRestorations takes alot of sessions like 2-3 to get the max whiteness. I have the same setup without the same bulb. Idk if my blacklight is okay
can u use that camping thermal blanket instead
I believe most of those are mylar so probably! Mylar is the big key here though!
So with this indoor method, and the new bulbs your using, is there a need to put an ice pack in the shoe since your doing 18+hours sessions?
Nope with these exact bulbs there isn't enough heat to cause separation. However, if using other bulbs use your best judgment!
RaleighRestorations what if I came across a uv black light, could I use that also?
Prince Smith can't say for sure as I've never tested that.
Will those mylar blankets for survival to keep warm work as well?

will LED light bulbs work

Does it take a few hours to get the 11's soles icey? Do the soles get pretty hot with this setup?
Nope very low heat, and the amount of sessions depends on the severity!
I'm going to give this a shot. I almost went out and bought the "MARS setup" that Vick Almighty uses on the RESHOEVNTR channel
Hey I actually bought a light similar to the Mars one Vick talked about.. I use these reptile bulbs along with a grow light and it works great!

I only recommend the Marshydro when using Ice Cream
RaleighRestorations I truly appreciate it, so the lightbulbs aren’t really that useful?

If the box is smaller (one pair) and well made! Make sure your sessions are 18-24 hours long with Ice Cream!
Lmao I only used aluminum foil my sister said it’ll still bounce the waves around and am trying to unyellow the white part of the sole on some air jordan 8s that’s all the icy sole is some other time
Plus am using salon care 40
I can't help you either way as the video was made specifically for ice cream. I put a lot of time in Research into it and can tell you for sure that aluminum foil is not effective. Sorry.
Nevermind the soles are white 😐 I guess you put to much time into it if you want I can prove it
Hey I tried this with three trials and didn’t see any differences, could you post a before and after? That would definitely help. Or if you found anything new that would help the process more could you post
Hey Khi, we'd need a bit more info! What product are you using, how long are your sessions? Did you use the Mylar Film as well as the exact bulbs we used in the video? Any adjustments made to your setup and the info above will help us dissect the issue and start getting your soles back to icy!
I used everything exactly the way you did but I used solebright instead
My sessions were about 8 hours each
@@khijohnson5921 not to knock another product by any means, but I'd assume solebrite is the issue.
I used silver Mylar balloons instead of the film cause It was too hard for me to find.. Will this work as well?
It should, as long as the shell on the balloons (the costing) is a quality mylar film!

How long does it really take
Varies shoe by shoe, however generally 5 sessions! Sometimes as few as 2, sometimes 8-10 when they're super worn down!
Finally! Ever tried Black light method?
From what I understand after researching a ton, blacklights emit mainly longwaves of UVA and not UVB.
This is great. Thanks for sharing.
No problem, hope it helped!
Good info, did not know that! Looks like I have work to do!
Can we get a results video?
