The funniest thing in these videos is seeing sled racing going by with dogs pulling everything .. and then there's your dogs kicking back watching the show from their snowmobile powered carriage! Some dogs are born into luxury. Nice videos.
I think it's awesome how in the winter videos it's Eric being all like "Thor with an Axe" while Arielle stomps around adorably flattening snow and in the spring/summer videos Arielle is the total Gaea earth mother garden ninja while Eric mostly carries stuff and digs holes. Perfect couple! Especially when they are lovey dovey! ;-)
you work so hard pre-cooking, packing, traveling and then work more whilst you are there. .BUT....you love being there together and so it is all worth it. I am widowed now, 52 years married, but we enjoyed just being together in our little place in the woods. I wish you many, many happy years together.
My husband was a professional cook, but Eric always surprises me with all his cooking abilities. Eric, your meal looks excellent! Everytime you make coffee, I always want a cup.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Cookbook! Cookbook! Cookbook! 🤣🥳😛 Also, I’ve been married for 30 years, and I find insight (and use it😉) in how the 2 of you interact, THANK YOU🥰
I absolutely loved it when Eric is cooking and doggie peeks out from the blanket....and Ariel says about doggie "when he smells food cooking, he's always the first PERSON to the table!"....HAHAHA!! We all DO think our pets are people, too!!❤❤
I can’t wait to see the cabin without all the snow. And the way you get there by boat I imagine. I bet you are going to have to build some kind of stairs to cabin.
Suggestion: Melt parfin wax and paint it on the bottom of your skids and sleds. You'll be surprised on how it will decrease the friction between the snow and metal skis and plastic.
Epic and golden!! These last two vids were a treasure. Thanks for allowing us in to your view. Like nuggets of heart-goods. You're both so humble, adorable, connected!! Love that this exists!!
I have a tip for chopping big rounds. Go for the outside edges, 2 1/2- 3" from the live edge, and work your way around it. the round is weaker there, once that's been done the rest will be easy. give it a try. too much strength in the round to go straight for the middle. It's an old guy trick, 59 years old, nice double- bladed axe by the way. Great job once again!
Love watching you. If it was my cabin, I would build some wooddoors outside all the windows for protection against bears and stormy weather. Most cabins im my country have that. Stay safe and enjoy the spring. 🌼🍀🌿🌺
It's very nice to watch and listen to you guys enjoying yourselves on the snow mobiles to , at the cabin and the journey home!Thank you for sharing your time at the cabin.Believe it or not it is an education for familys/people thinking about moving to Alaska! But, there is nothing better than having great partners! 👍😃
Brilliant Video Thank you Ariel and Eric, that's so weird having flies in the cabin in the cold conditions, here in Victoria, Australia when winter comes no flies, Yay, I'm only happy in Winter.. As much as I adore the snow, I'm really looking forward to you installing that new fireplace, It looks like the brother of the one at your other cabin. OMG @18:34 Ariel with "bo" so Beautiful, Ariel you looked like an Angel in that light. I didn't want this video to end. Omg the ending that beautiful music it was like the little cabin was saying "please don't leave me" Kind thoughts and hug's too you both from Australia... "Bandit" "Bo" "pepper" "😇🐈 Hunter" "chickens" 😬🤷♀️♥️
Great continuation! This trip to your remote cabin has been brilliantly documented. I felt as if I was with you on the trip. Wonderful to see you “relax” and enjoy each other. For me, this trip marks a high point, in your already excellent filming and editing. Thank you.
You two are just so incredibly perfect for each other. You are the yin to the others yang. Like peas and carrots, like milk and cereal. Ariel and Eric.
Another great video. I think Bo is a sweet Mama's boy. Bandit is a carefree up for fun and full of life. Love his long galloping run. First time I've heard Ariel say "I can't do this".🤓
You both looked so relaxed. 🥱🥱 😴Did you remember to pick up back pack that was on the snow bank by the tree when you were loading up ? Those skeeters are going to be so big & hungry next time you go back their going to carry the two of you away. Take Care Be Safe. 👍👍
You two have an amazing life together! Thank you for sharing your experiences with us. Beautiful land and snow scenes. Peace and Good Fortune and Good Health to you both and your puppers. :)
Tenderness moves my heart, the way you care for your doggies pleases me so much I simply have to tell you. You are both beautiful! Such a lovely, intelligent and brave couple!
Oh wow I can’t wait to watch this I will save it for later , I can’t wait , I love how you live, how hard you work on your land and homestead, and your chickens and how are your lovely dogs ! Be safe sending you peace
Based on my experience, I never realized two people could be so compatible and working on building a future together. I do not care about the geography, it's encouraging to see it all. Thanks guys, you give me hope. '
I can't wait to see it after the thaw! As always, I'm captivated by your videos and left wanting more! Discovered you about a year ago, binged your entire channel...and yet I always wish there was just one more video...
Hi guys, I love all of your videos, but for some reason I really enjoyed this one. It was so different, peaceful and relaxing. Good work and thank you for sharing.
Greetings to an incredible couple, who live in beautiful nature, I watch your clips and I am delighted how you do everything beautifully from growing vegetables, fishing, hunting and you use everything beautifully, naturally and healthily. I wish you every success and a healthy life. GREETINGS FROM Bosnia and Herzegovina
How about putting the Pine Sol in a spray bottle? After wiping down the table/counter spray the door, inside and out. All around the windows, deck, steps, etc with full strength PS.
Mi piacciono tanto per la loro semplicità e simpatia, e come trattano le loro bestiole è incredibile. La civiltà di una persona si misura da come tratta gli animali. Complimenti.
Love watching your adventures to the cabin. Not so much the ride there when something happens and you have to turn around. My heart falls and I feel your disappointment. This trip was such a good one hope you have many many more. Eric you better connect with that woman of yours. I am looking forward to seeing the cabin when the snow is melted. Y’all are living the dream of so many! Enjoy it and each other! Congrats!!!
Maybe add shutters, metals one's, for the windows this summer. Even a steel door. Steel tool box, like one's for the back of trucks, to store cook wear in. Thanks for sharing. Stay safe, warm and healthy. God bless
Hi guys , your having a good time out at your cabin you’re really lucky as some of us can’t go anywhere due to this COVID pandemic but I am looking forward to heading up to Northern Scotland in my Campervan for my fishing trip for brown trout but watching your videos really helps so cheers and stay safe and peace and love from Scotland 🏴👍🙏🎣🇬🇧
You will need some poly sealant, 2 Tubes 1) at the silicone penetration flashing under the flashing to the roof, 3) at the top of the silicone / rubber boot, between the pipe and the boot, 4) and then put some sealant over the rain deflector.
Eric at our place in Mich. my dad had a few boards with spikes in them , he'd place by the door and window spikes facing upward. I know he pissed off 1 bear for sure
Yep, that's famously known as "The Welcome Mat for Bears" Just put a sign on your door attesting to the spiked welcome mat. Bears can't read but a lost person needing shelter doesn't want to make a situation worse. 👍👍👍😁😁😁
Love your videos. If I were 40 years younger and had an awesome partner, Alaskan homesteading would have been awesome. Instead, I have to do it alone in the Virginia mountains, which is still pretty damn good. The "crow" that you heard was actually a raven, a bigger version of the crow.
Your dogs are so cute! Looks like the cabin is going to be great for both of you. I think it is so beautiful in Alaska. Glad to see you both enjoying all Alaska has to offer.
I am envious of your lifestyle, but at the same time, so glad that you two take the time and effort to share the videos with us. You two are a very cool couple. Keep em comin. 👍👍
Yay part two! I've been waiting with baited breath! Heehee, or if you're my pup, breath that smells like bait! ☮️ Peace and love 💜 from Kimberly in South Dakota 💙❤️
I love the beautiful scenery, just amazing! Thank you guys for sharing such beauty and your memories ☺️ with us. You two are my all time favorites to watch. Thank you again. Please keep the videos coming this world needs more examples of couples being real and really sticking together. Good evening and God bless.
Looks like you'll need to bring out some of those sticky fly strips to hang up to get all those flies cleared out of there! Nice little stove. I'm curious why you aren't just using the wall penetration you already have in place to avoid potential leaks by going up through your roof with it. What's the point of that? Are you planning on relocating the stove or installing the new one where the older one is now? I'm just imagining that flashing that stove pipe with the old roofing up there could be a challenge to make and keep water tight, making you wish you'd left well enough alone up top...though I hope I'm wrong of course. It also seems like it will complicate your snow removal process should you want to use the rope again, but who knows? Anyway, it sure will be nice to have a safe and efficient stove out there! Might be nice to put a little awning window up in the loft with a screen on it so you can have some natural light up there as well as to open up to let in fresh air, create air flow in summer and be able to cool things off if needed in winter as well. SUCH a cool little escape. I can't wait to see that gorgeous water view out the front window after the thaw!
What a beautiful location winter or summer I imagine! I needed this today. That daggone corn bread looked amazing! My mom and grandma used to make it this way. I'll give it a shot. Thank you guys for posting your life. Love it.
Cry worthy beautiful. Dem boy babies sure do love & watch y'all ! Wow, too much to remember for this old mind. So, if I need to see y'all, it'll be new each time. 😝 Thank you, you surely work HARD!!!🙏❤🙏🤗 💥👁👁 Till next time...
Just lots of peace and quite-hard to find that these days. You’re going to need something to clean the roof good before the adhesive on that gasket will stick, usually something solvent based. Also if your roof has some surface rust you’ll need to sand that down. I’m telling you all this because you only get one chance with those gaskets, if part of it sticks and part doesn’t there ain’t no going back.
YOU are beautiful together, it's a joy to watch your new Alaska life unfold. You have so many talents and wisdom to show the world. Thank You for being YOU. Respect.
Been watching for ages. Just realized they are Eric and Ariel. Like little mermaid. Lol.took me a minute.
Selina Burke i didn't get it i guess until you spelled it out for me!! Lol
I'm not going to lie. That's one of the reasons why I stuck with them in the beginning. LOL now I'm hooked because their videos are just awesome
Lol.. I’ve been watching awhile.. never noticed.. my kids watched once and let me know haha.
Oh yea!!!!
Lol I didn't even pick it up so faster than me.
The funniest thing in these videos is seeing sled racing going by with dogs pulling everything .. and then there's your dogs kicking back watching the show from their snowmobile powered carriage! Some dogs are born into luxury. Nice videos.
I need more thumbs for this comment!! Thank you
Old dogs have new tricks.
this comment needs to be pinned :)
What part of Alaska do you live in?
"I just wish sometimes we can be connected " 🤣🤣😭😭
Absolutely best thing Ariel's ever said
Absolutely lovely.
We all need that!
This one was a knockout!! "Not almost enough" also cracked me up!!
She said it so quiet too. I had to crank the volume up and just cackled after I heard it.
The definition of love.
Especially when they are lovey dovey! ;-)
This is such an underrated comment so far. Its beautifully true!
She is, she is awesome!
Both are Awesome ❤😊❤
It’s nice to see soul mates together enjoying their lives. Snuggles included.
I wonder if you 2 would be willing to do a video on being married, how you work side by side so well, etc
you work so hard pre-cooking, packing, traveling and then work more whilst you are there. .BUT....you love being there together and so it is all worth it.
I agree. And I don't drink coffee!!
Me too! And hungry when he cooks! And Arielle’s breads!😋😋
No whipped cream on the coffee/chocolate?
@@morgancalvi6675 Sandra Westley he put heavy cream in the bottom of the cups.

I second, third, and fourth the cookbook! You cook meals that just look delicious!
Next year bring out a garden sprayer and just spray the pinesol around the house inside and out.
I absolutely loved it when Eric is cooking and doggie peeks out from the blanket....and Ariel says about doggie "when he smells food cooking, he's always the first PERSON to the table!"....HAHAHA!! We all DO think our pets are people, too!!❤❤

Me too!
Suggestion: Melt parfin wax and paint it on the bottom of your skids and sleds. You'll be surprised on how it will decrease the friction between the snow and metal skis and plastic.
Ohhh, great idea!!
Honestly UHMW is the best way to go...
Or use ski wax.

Chocolate abuelita “grandma chocolate”is the BEST with fresh bread n you be in heaven.
It was neat to see her give you a hug just because she wanted to. I appreciate you both!
New stove came with its own kindling lol
A new cabin video of Eric, Ariel, and the pooches snuggled under their blankets always makes the world feel right as rain. 🤗
We are off grid as well. Living in the wilderness is a challenge. I still learn something new everyday. Love your show.

Indeed!
You should get a smmal garden sprayer to spray pin-sol on the cabin for bears
OH! that slip while holding the axe - shook me!
You two are just so incredibly perfect for each other. You are the yin to the others yang. Like peas and carrots, like milk and cereal. Ariel and Eric.
I actually started to reach out for Beau’s paw when he held it up.
Dogs so cute all tucked in

When you both moved that stove a few inches, I flashbacked to you hauling that thing up the snowy hill and I got tired again! 😂
That was tough! :)
Exercise is a great! I feel so refreshed after watching you chop wood! :)
Next trip to the cabin bring a string mop for applying the pinesol to the outside of the cabin. LOVE ya !!!
Eric your wood chopping skills are insane. Love you two, much respect.
I was just thinking the same thing. He slays that wood like it's easy. Shows how experienced he is.
I can't wait to see it after the thaw! As always, I'm captivated by your videos and left wanting more! Discovered you about a year ago, binged your entire channel...and yet I always wish there was just one more video...

Ariel, needs a trip to the lower 48, when she referred old blue as the first person to the table, LOL. PETS ARE PART OF THE FAMILY :)

Your puppies are adorable. I love how much love you give them. Enjoying your channel.
I trust they're planning on building some sort of stair system (wood or earthen) for the hill up the cabin. That climb will get old fast.
Mountain house biscuits and gravy is awesome.
Maybe add shutters, metals one's, for the windows this summer. Even a steel door. Steel tool box, like one's for the back of trucks, to store cook wear in. Thanks for sharing. Stay safe, warm and healthy. God bless
Nothing wrong with snuggles with those cute boys and just enjoying the cabin. Such a get away even if you don't do a thing.

I love that you guys never waste anything. Always make use of what you have. Thank you.
I can’t wait to see the video of the cabin come summertime!!
That thumbnail is adorable!
Couldn’t tell if Arielle was stomping a path through the snow, crushing grapes for wine, or doing her Ginger Rogers imitation.
I miss Canada it was like this in a way and the black and white dog is like Piper he was SPECIAL to me
Great picture of you two! Can’t wait to watch later!!👍

Wondering how jealous those sled dogs were towards Bo and Bandit having a life of leisure 😊😊
Burn the leftover food in the fire pit whenever possible.
I spray Pine-Sol around the perimeter of my house to keep the bugs out.
I’m about to do the same thing
Does it keep ants out too?
@@ritzafrancois4863 For the most part yes. A couple times a year I may see one but that's it.
