Ian’s voice is so unmistakable and amazing. And Emmylou , well she melts my heart with her voice and beauty.
I'm a British bloke, but not ashamed to say I'm heartbroken that Ian has finally left us - Loved all the old stuff with Sylvia and Ian's solo recordings and videos - RIP Cowboy
I know I.m not the only one who has had a lifelong crush on Emmylou.
Lifelong crush on Ian!!
You're not alone- she's talented and gorgeous
Emmy was so beautiful (not to mention her beautful voice). RIP Ian Tyson. I've been a fan of he (and Sylvia) for some 50 years and was lucky enough to see him sing twice in Utah. Both had such exceptional voices.
A very wonderful songs of Emmy
So sad to say Ian Tyson passed on Thursday December 29,at his Ranch Home in High River, Alberta, I sure will miss him and his music!
love him, miss him.
They sound great together!!!
imagine legends of emmylou and Ian at the local cfrn TV studio ?
oh wait, that was for real, wonderful!!!!
I was lucky enough to see Ian perform at Michael Martin Murphy's WestFest in Colorado a few times and saw Emmylou here in Chicago. RIP Ian.
Wonderful Country Music Greatest
been a fan since they were Ian & Sylvia. Ian sang at several ont. rodeos in the 60s. Met him on several shows.
The sound of Emmylou Harris is bliss . "2 great duets .
She's sung with Dylan, Gene Clark, Willie Nelson -- the list goes on and on. But her best duet partner was, of course, Gram Parsons.
What a treat to hear and see these two great talents on the same stage. Pray for peace in our world.
J ai vécu le rêve américain j y crois encore travaillons pour en faire un pour nos petits enfants
Great to see/hear Ian in his prime!
Love This Beautiful Country Music
GOLD in its purest form.
nice duet of the 2 and so with the group....
Yes what a darling sweet lady and what a wonderful entertainer it was my pleasure to meet her on a couple of occasion's
People forget that Emmylou was instrumental in bringing TVZ's music to a wide audience.
God is within your sight, Ian.
Wish they had done more together. Emmylou can sing harmony to anyone, but Ian was one of a very few that could sing harmony to Emmy’s lead that well.
Spanish is a Loving tongue : Ian and Emmy Lou , 19:15 0:50 Ian - ( Looking for) the heart of Saturday Night. Emmylou & Ian - If I needed You. 8:18 .
She's one of the best rhythm guitarists .
My god I forgot how gorgeous Emmylou was!
and still is.....
How on earth could you forget? 😊
Sadly Ian Tyson never got the recognition he deserved.
Beautiful
Read recently that Ian decided he would switch from folk to country after hearing Gram Parsons and the Flying Burrito Brothers in L.A. Said he loved them. The world of music is very interconnected!
Just as Dylan went from folk to rock, while Springsteen went the other way, fro rock to folk. And Conway Twitty, Charlie Rich and Kenny O’Dell began as rock ‘n rollers.
Southern white music. Thin line between the two.
Great harmonies by Ian & Emmylou on "If I Needed You." They should have done a duet album.
Emmylou does have a great duet version of the song with Don Williams on her "Duets" album.
Been catching up with Ian and Sylvia repertoire. Emmylou can duet with anyone!
gret townes Van Zandt song!
That woulda been the best!
Check out Emmylou's two albums with Gram Parsons is you're interested in duets.
Omg Susan Gilmour singing bg vocals!!
❤❤❤❤❤
Ian Tyson singing a great Tom Waits song.
Define good country... there's a yearning in vocals and lyrics. Really ...a yearning for love.
I love this song so entertaining real country in the 70s. How are you Audrey ?
Eric Smith - I am alright. I have a small concert venue. Have added songwriting workshops to this coming season. Should be interesting! Are you a musician?
@@audreyneubuhr4231 Nice to see your response. Where are you from ?
@@ericsmith8708 Saskatchewan Canada. Saskatoon is the nearest big city.
@@audreyneubuhr4231 I'm from LA California.
Also, I hope Tom Waits was suitably flattered that Ian rocked up his song!
I kinda like the slick rockin' version of Tom Waite's song "The Heart Of Saturday Night".
Why didn't Ian & Emmylou do some albums together?? 😭💔
Would be great if some stats on the players could be included above - their names & instruments, etc.
I wonder, why is the name "Salley Rose" is on her shoulder guitar strap?
She released an album called the "Balad Of Sally Rose" around about then.
@@Gene1954 It was about her time with Gram Parsons.
@@margaretross9150 No, much later. It was her time with Paul Kennerly.
@@michaelduffy6874 Hi. Sorry, I meant the story told in the album was about her time singing with Gram.
I’ll never forget how handsome Ian Tyson was.
Yes talented handsome country singer songwriter what a good lyrics. How are you Patsy ?
Great backup band. But Nothing compared to the "Hot band" Emmylou later had with the likes of James Burton/Albert Lee. But interesting the drummer right here is none other than Stu Mitchell of Wes Dakus fame. He also wrote the theme song. Great musician. How long did Sun Country last? Don't seem to recall.
Summer Wages ive lost
I thought that one lead guitarist was Kix Brooks at first.
Kristina ringdalh åstorp
Sover du..
not a song for ian too uptempo for this classic
Sun Country production values pale in comparison to Nashville North.
Define country?
To these ears, it aint the fluff coming outta today's Nashville charts...
🇨🇦
Love Emmylou and Ian, but this was all off (Weird).
That guy gets a great dobro sound out of that Stratocaster, while dancing, no less 😂
Awesome !!
Emmylou Harris Born to Run
Written by Albert Lee, who was in her Hot Band.
