You don’t need to drop the axle….. Just use a coal chisel on the ball joint nut. I just did 2 of these .., 19 mm open ended wrench fit in their fine but it just wanted to round them off… and it free with 4 taps with chiselzz: also regarding freeing the ball joint once the bolt is off. Don’t temove the 2 nuts and 1 bolt from the bracket .,, Once you have the ball joint nut off .. just take a chisel… put it on the ball joint bracket and hammer down… This car is from the north east …. Came off maybe 10 wackos np…. Also a pickle fork would have worked even better … I couldn’t find mine..
It can be done without removing the axle. Just need to bang the heck out of it once you loosen the crown nut all the way. Need to also hit knuckle a few times.
