Same I see a lot of folks bemoaning the fact that it's not the classic SW theme but I disagree. I think its more powerful with that theme of hope for the rebellion because the movie is about the rebels reclaiming their lost hope, their identity as the good guys in a way and embracing that hope to really stand up to the empire so that theme is far more effecting for me when I see the title card.
Me too! I felt something I never felt since my deployment, I never thought I'd have that feeling but it opened up for me. Im happy Ive got too watch this movie.
Absolutely loved this theme. I think people are being harsh on this score and calling it unmemorable. Personally I find it more memorable than the TFA themes
Derp Festor I noticed that too, being a fan of Giacchino's Medal of Honor scores, that this sounds similar to soundtrack in the End and credits of Medal of Honor Airborne. Both are awesome.
*SPOILER ALERT!* When I watched this movie for the second time and heard this song during the opening sequence I realized exactly how this movie was different that any other Star Wars film that's ever been made. When I went to go see it the first time, I was expecting for this movie to excite me, and at times it certainly did. However, I feel that a very important part to this movie is the emotion. All of the Star Wars movies up to this point have ended on a positive and hopeful note, and while this is true in Rogue One, there is a much more somber tone beneath it. This song almost sounds like a tribute sung to those fallen heroes, without whom, there would have been no hope. For me, it invokes the emotions I feel when experiencing deep respect for our everyday (unsung) heroes. I love this song and movie so much!
Rogue One is, for its story alone, just pure art. Star Wars, or any kind of fantasy/sci-fi/ action movie is about a main characters doing and surviving the impossible. Hell, even Lord of the rings did that. But the writer of Rogue One actualy had the balls to kill off every main character of a disney movie. Rogue One is, certainly not, your regular action movie. It actually showed the efforts of the people that were behind the big scene, behind the "main story"--> the story of Rogue One, until its release, was only known as a part of the intro crawl of A New Hope.
and this is why Rogue One succeeds where it could have failed. Rogue One to me over time has grown to feel meh in my memory, but going back and watching it, I realized why I fell in love with it the first time. It's not about telling a story of main characters, but rather the conflict of something much bigger. I do still firmly believe the first act is a little bit choppy in terms of exposition as some dialogue is too in your face but the second and third acts more than make up for it. These characters got their due even if it wasn't as great an introduction as The Force Awakens. Hope Gareth gets to work on another one of these.
this has a Lord of the Rings feel to me. like the Fellowship so going out on a suicide mission. then when the music intensifies it has a Star Trek space feel. I'm loving it more and more I listen to it
It actually reminds me of that scene on Osgiliath where things seem to go well for a second and you hear the theme for Gondor but then as the orcs overrun them it turns dark and dramatic. In the way that it goes into a crescendo but then seems to anunciante that there's a tragic ending around the corner because it doesn't reach the epic levels of the saga opening theme.
I'm not crying, you're crying... :'( The sacrifice of Rogue One is easily sadder to me than the Tragedy of Darth Vader. What a beautiful, melancholy theme to memorialize them.
Trip Hazard I agree. They need more reboots and remakes like Rogue One. a remake that honors the source material and is correct down to the very props they hold.
With the star wars main theme, is see a glorious Galaxy with noble knight of the light fighting against true evil empires, a conflict where the fate of the Galaxy is at stake. With rogue one's I see a tired rebel soldier about to die on the Battlefield, using his last breath to lift his flag in the middle of the War.
I haven't listened to these musical themes in nearly a month, which is when I last saw the film. It's a testament to how great the music is that my heart hurts coming back it.
RIP all of these brave and cunning warriors who died to bring us the plans and helped change the galaxy forever this music fits this image perfectly and they will always be remembered as ROGUE ONE 😞
I almost can't think about this movie without crying. No it wasn't the best movie out in 2016, but it was a good Star Wars movie and it made me FEEL something, even more so than Ep. VII did in a way. Not to mention this score is amazing.
The Picture in the Video combined with the Music reminds me of a Tribute Video/Photo for an old Fighter Squadron that Gave their Lives. Which was obviously the intention!
Welp, now I have to go watch Rogue One again. In fact, I’m just gonna marathon every Star Wars movie. Yeah, okay, yeah. also i have the despecialized edition so yay
I like how this sounds like the Star Wars theme at the beginning, representing that the theme of the movies is about hope and that this small band of rebels carry nothing with them but hope
I didn't watch it in the movies, then some time ago I watched it home, clueless about what the story, and the new characters, but when 2:06 hit, I was already crying in awe, before the movie even started haha. I love this movie so much.
At the beggining i thought it would be The Force Theme, and in the end i thought it would be the Star Wars Main Theme... But man, this music is awesome...
i think whoever organized the arrangements for the soundtrack screwed up. this part should be a standalone piece. not mashed on the backend with "Jyn Erso & Hope Suite" or "Rebellions are Built on Hope". THIS IS THE TUNE I ASSOCIATE WITH ROGUE ONE!!!
I know rogue one and all of the Star Wars saga is based on WWII . But this theme specifically sounds like melody out of a WWII movie based on the pacific frontline . I read somewhere that Gareth Edwards wanted to make this film based on the pacific battlefront whereas George Lucas had based his film on the European battlefields. That's why , in my opinion, the Rogue One theme would suit a WWII film ... something like Hacksaw Ridge .
I doubt that this was the Beginning of the Galactic Civil War. But it was sure the First Victory of the Rebellion that had any lasting meaningful Impact on Galactic Affairs. Hope was lost at this point and a band of 6 people were able to bring it back. Unfortunately they would only be remembered for what they did as their accomplishment was the only thing that survived....
Here's how I view the War's progression Rise of the Empire (19 BBY - 12 BBY) By 12 BBY The Empire achieved total rule over the Galaxy Rebel Network (8 BBY - 3.8 BBY) Rebels Season 1-3 is from 5 to 3.8 BBY Early Rebellion (3.8 BBY - 0 BBY) This era begins with the Atollon Battle and Season 4 Galactic Civil War (0 BBY - 5 ABY) Rogue One, ANH, ESB, ROTJ, Battle of Jakku Remnant Cold War (6 ABY - 18 ABY) The War did not end at Jakku
This theme is very much Star Wars but it has its own flavor, like it's saying "So many died for this cause". As for the movie series, at first I thought it was just the usual money-making grind. But I saw that Rogue One is the most soulful of all SW movies; the One with the most heart. Just saying. :)
I'm surprised that in the production of the original trilogy, nobody stopped to think how they actually got the plans for the star, and all the people that died doing it. But then a Star 10x bigger came along like 'sup
I bet that Mon Mothma wrote a holo-biography on Rogue One (And as she wasn't present at the Battle of Scarif and the fact that nobody that survived the Battle survived the follow up Battle of Yavin except Leia and Hera. She can only guess what transpired there) her novel was written and published soon after the Battle of Endor.
Very nice. I feel in love with this theme from the moment it appeared at the titles. My biggest issue with the soundtrack is it doesn't have the epic version of this piece from the climax of the film when (SPOILER ALERT) that Hammerhead corvette crashes the Star Destroyers together.
I agree. But remember Lucasfilm dropped Edwards from the job and brought in another director to finish (according to reports). Whereas they seemed to be jizzing themselves over Johnson. Not surprised they thought Johnson's work was great...they/Disney probably loved all that rubbish on the casino planet and the inclusion of more 'strong' female characters. While Rogue One isn't perfect, I think it definitely feels more like a legit Star Wars movie than The Last Jedi. The Darth Vader scenes and the battle scenes are better than anything in TLJ.
Spoiler!!!!! Jyn and Galen Erso, Cassian Andor, Chirrut Îmwe, K-2S0, Baze Malbus, Bodhi Rook................Thank you, we will never forget you: There is no death, only the Force.
Omg when the rogue one title appeared and the music elevated I got goosebumps

Andrew Valenzuela it honestly looked alittle cheezy but the music was awesome
Me too! I felt something I never felt since my deployment, I never thought I'd have that feeling but it opened up for me. Im happy Ive got too watch this movie.
if you get goosebumps when listening to music you are more evolved than most humans
I love the title sequence song. It’s different from the rest but so good
in the 1976 novel the rebel spies committed suicide. in the movie they went on a suicide mission... fits pretty well
Richard Ched what novel is that?
@@RudyMartinezLA probably the original a new hope novelization
@@SkylordAh yeah that one lol.
When you realize this movie came out exactly 40 years after the book
@@MariOmor1 😳😳😳😳
Absolutely loved this theme. I think people are being harsh on this score and calling it unmemorable. Personally I find it more memorable than the TFA themes
Jake Boos Michael had literally had 4 weeks to do this
The soundtrack for Rogue One was, in my opinion anyway, absolutely fucking spot on - I love it.
Jake Boos I like the theme who else is with me.
Jake Boos exactly it fits this image perfectly its amazing
Jake Boos People love to find something to bitch about. They'll make up things to complain about.
Such a Medal of Honor feeling... then again it is Michael Giacchino.
Derp Festor I noticed that too, being a fan of Giacchino's Medal of Honor scores, that this sounds similar to soundtrack in the End and credits of Medal of Honor Airborne. Both are awesome.
DUDE ! Yes !! Remind me of old allied assault and front line
Michael Giacchino did an absolutely amazing job with this soundtrack. It may not be John Williams, but it is still very memorable.
*SPOILER ALERT!*

Cristian Becerril Hope is the key to survival.
Rogue One is, for its story alone, just pure art.

Cristian Becerril perhaps the legend of Rogue One's journey and mission wouldnt be known to the Galaxy at large until 40 ABY
and this is why Rogue One succeeds where it could have failed. How could anyone dislike this.... Thanks for uploading
And videos like this make mine. Keep uploading them man :)
Can't wait 'til TLJ (The Last Jedi)!
Sad 12 year olds that go on every video they see and dislike it because they find it funny. That's the answer.

god i love Star Wars and LOTR so much
Easily understood. Violin part resembles LotR, the trumpet is a symbol of ST music :-)
It reminds me of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Don't know why....
I'm not crying, you're crying... :'(
The sacrifice of Rogue One is easily sadder to me than the Tragedy of Darth Vader. What a beautiful, melancholy theme to memorialize them.
It makes Luke's trench run very emotional
R.I.P Rogue One. You will be remembered as Vague Text in a title crawl.......
As well as the future name of Rogue Squadron.....
Arguably the best Star Wars movie of all, CERTAINLY the best since Empire Strikes Back!
Trip Hazard I agree. They need more reboots and remakes like Rogue One. a remake that honors the source material and is correct down to the very props they hold.
Worst Star Wars since the prequels in my opinion... Lol.
the best one for me
I agreee. This son is so amazing also
As Somerset says in Se7en, I agree with the second part.
I actually want to cry, that's how beautiful it is
This theme.. this motif.. this suite.. whatever you prefer. It gives me goosebumps. I have seen this in cinema 3 times. It still gives me goosebumps.
Eisenjays i think it carries more emotion than the original tbh
Rogue one..... may the force be with them

'Rogue One' Best in music soundtracks! - Oscar Awards (My prediction)

A beautiful Heartwarming Theme

This is the greatest star wars movie everrr
Possibly my favourite Star Wars movie, certainly the best under Disney. This theme is perfect!
Completely agree

This was such a great movie
Oh man! Nice job! This should be on the OST. The last thirty seconds could definitely do with an extension, however.
I like how this sounds like the Star Wars theme at the beginning, representing that the theme of the movies is about hope and that this small band of rebels carry nothing with them but hope
i love the 2:00 part
It's the only real part.
it gives me goosebumps when this moment appear ! loving it !
there should be an extended version of that part... :(
2:07 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Listening to this right after sending in an application to qfc. Job hunts are built on hope!
They along everyone on that stolen shuttle, risked it all,so a princess,a farmboy,a smuggler and his trained ape got honored for it.

exactly!
Aw man, this had to be up there with the classic music, Ahsoka's theme, and Rey's theme in terms of great Star Wars music.
this theme is Awesum
Amazing job! Thanks for putting this together!!
i think a lot of ppl are looking for this, but this track is really sad until the end
its a shame that it feels like it just started then it is over
Love this amazing movie
Great edit! I'm sure if they had planned a Rogue Two, it would have been like this.
Such a great tune that it's a shame it hardly pops up...
But they did make one, its called a new hope
Rogue two made an appearance in Empire Strikes Back
Damn it who else just can't quite feel it for the main titles like Force Awakens or Last Jedi after the tone of Rogue One?
I know rogue one and all of the Star Wars saga is based on WWII . But this theme specifically sounds like melody out of a WWII movie based on the pacific frontline . So beautiful. I've been searching for this exact theme. Thank you so much :)
Omg ive been looking everywhere for this damn song!!!!!!!!! Why is the best rogue one song soo hard to find????????
0:39 this cello part strings is very beautyfull!!
Thank you so much for doing this! I've been looking around for one for quite some time and you nailed it! Great work!
Thank You So Much, This Is Beautiful!!

The rebels used to be terrorists and saboteurs.
Rogue One marks the day they transition into being an army.
Here's how I view the War's progression
Rise of the Empire (19 BBY - 12 BBY) By 12 BBY The Empire achieved total rule over the Galaxy
Rebel Network (8 BBY - 3.8 BBY) Rebels Season 1-3 is from 5 to 3.8 BBY
Early Rebellion (3.8 BBY - 0 BBY) This era begins with the Atollon Battle and Season 4
Galactic Civil War (0 BBY - 5 ABY) Rogue One, ANH, ESB, ROTJ, Battle of Jakku
Remnant Cold War (6 ABY - 18 ABY) The War did not end at Jakku
is beautiful!!
this is my favorite ost in the entire saga
Based
Just notice that Michael Giacchino was also a composer of Star Trek
Magnifique tout simplement..
This music gives me goosebumps every time I listen to it- one of the best Star Wars movies
Score is remarkable!! One of the best ones for star wars
Still listening to this

When the title appeared and the theme kicked in it was just unexpected and amazing.
agreed, didn't like the movie doe lol
The best Star Wars movie in 25 years, although that really isn't saying much.
watch ur mouth the star wars community is strong and mighty
I'm surprised that in the production of the original trilogy, nobody stopped to think how they actually got the plans for the star, and all the people that died doing it. But then a Star 10x bigger came along like 'sup
CoolDerp202 there have been stories about it since the 70s
Amazing mix for hearing well this them. Thank you.
Prolly the most slept on Star Wars movie ever made
I just love this movie and the music, they go perfectly together. Also thanks so much for uploading this.
Bruh
I cried so much

This video alone literally made me watch Rogue One.
2:07 someones gotta post that part of the song but the more sad version when the hammerhead pushes the star destroyer into the shield gate
so beautiful, great work :)
But I have an question...Why is this suit not available for mobile devices?
CyberPhoenix89 works for me on mobile devices
Musica Veramente Bellissima e Emozionante. Film Bellissimo e Meraviglioso
We need an another spin off movie like this but instead it's about the bothans who died to give us this information
This is beautiful
Rebellions are built on hope!
Very nice. I feel in love with this theme from the moment it appeared at the titles. My biggest issue with the soundtrack is it doesn't have the epic version of this piece from the climax of the film when (SPOILER ALERT) that Hammerhead corvette crashes the Star Destroyers together.
Best Star Wars movie since Disney
This theme is so great that it makes me wish the movie was great too. Damn it.
Before Rogue One : For the Empire!
After Rogue One : Nevermind.
Великолепно! За душу берет до мозга костей!
You know if exist a version with only this theme?
Rebellion Are Built on Hope is the full version
It's the best of movies of Star Wars, not even episode 3 or 6 is compared with this amazing movie!!!! ;)
Why not let Gareth Edwards also make the next trilogy? I mean most people loved Rogue One while on the other movies the community is split
I agree. But remember Lucasfilm dropped Edwards from the job and brought in another director to finish (according to reports). Whereas they seemed to be jizzing themselves over Johnson.
