Had to laugh! As an Aussie, I cannot believe I got annoyed by this but never changed it in 15 years of using gmail! Who would think to find it there, thank you!
It's incredible that I had to resort to watching a 'how-to youtube video' to make this simple date format change after wasting 2 hours of my precious time in settings. So much for google products offering productivity!
Today is 2023. This video was made 7 years ago and still the fix to imperial time coding is the same apparently. Why Google does not have an option to pick the format regardless of language is mystery. A mystery just like the meteorite that once wiped out the dinosaurs.
Unsatisfactory solution in my opinion. I want to have sane date time settings but keep my language as English (US), mind boggling that they have tied these settings together.
This didn't actually work, but then I selected 'change language for other google products' highlighted in blue underneath the drop down box and this eventually worked after I selected English > United Kingdom on that page.
Wrong! I want to keep the English language in Gmail, but change the date and time format to European format. I guess Gmail is not capable of such a thing!
