Just finished watching 73A. You missed the call on who beat Shi Seb. Ritvars Suharev of Latvia totaled 341 to beat Shi by a kilo. To be fair Shi didn’t take his last 2 jerks;I think he just wanted to total for Paris he’s sixth now,Ritvars fourth. Weeraphon started with the 145 that he pulled and hang snatched for 2 in training and amazingly missed it He made it on his second attempt and declined his third so maybe there was a twinge in the overhead snatch position. He looked in the jerk with 189 tho.
Ritvars is overrated same with wichuma, wichuma is a horrible snatcher and ofc he is good once Thailand is back from their doping ban lol. Ritvars has to be so perfect to even beat shi who isn't even trying lmfao while still on injury @@johndoherty-hh2ck
Didn't North Korean weightlifters miss the first Grand Prix in Cuba back in June? I heard that their absence disqualified them for Paris Olympics. Can someone verify if this is actually true?
This is true. Genetics > drugs. I still hate though that these elite athletes will almost all suffer some pretty serious health issues because of the drugs. If you want to compete at the Olympic level you are forced to trade in some unknown value of your future health. A pretty awful situation to me.
Elite Olympic athletes receive benefits (financial and otherwise) in the here and now. It’s a difficult choice. In most countries you have a choice. In North Korea maybe not. You might end up in a labor/concentration camp if you don’t play the game.
I mean the level that they train at you have no choice but to have some Sort of enhancement and recovery aid. I wish all sports would just allow TRT and HGH. Recovery is impossible without PEDs at these elite levels, especially for weightlifting
@@patricklang7162the fuck, it’s more challenging the way it is rn. So you can push as hard as humanly possible. You’re just someone that cuts corners.
Yes, but the tests are very flawed. Bodybuilders and Powerlicting are synonymous with PEDs. No escaping it. They might be clean on competition day, but they definitely juiced during the preparation.
I was thinking the same thing. Because of the periodic famines the North Koreans have suffered the average NK adult male is about 2 inches(5cm) shorter than the comparable male in South Korea as well as 30 lbs(14kg) lighter. All this in about 3 generations. I’m not making this up.
You need a fact check. Famines occurred because of poor crops/weather , inefficiencies in food distribution, government of NK failing to allow outside help and the government of NK probably spending 75% of its budget on defense.
I am far less concerned about PRK's doping than i am about their human rights violations. Given Qatar's record on human rights, there is little surprise that PRK felt comfortable showing up to this event. I'm saddened that WH is covering this event at all. I will not be watching any coverage of this event, or any other events in Qatar.
Sure, just watch the US, they don't infringe human rights at all. They didn't sponsor several military coups and dictatorships in South America, nor did they invade middle eastern countries without justification and killed several thousands of civilians. They didn't carpet bomb Asian countries like Laos and Korea until there was nothing left to bomb or used war criminal chemical and other kinds of weapons like in Vietnam. They're not sponsoring the colonization and apartheid in Palestine.
Maybe you should concern yourself with the genocide the US committed there instead of a small nation trying to secure its rights to self determination.
North Korean persecution is so extreme against Christians that they run away to China. These weightlifters either make it big or suffer the consequences.
I love this new style of editing! Keep it up, Seb & WH Team!
