that 214kg clean was insane by rahmat.
Amazing… have North Korea 🇰🇵 been juicing the heck out of their lifters while not competing and this is why they being so east Germany in the last 6 months 😮
Short answer? Yes
@@scottessery100I'm pretty sure they are not juicing more or less than any other team.
Good fight. Ri swept gold. I think he deserves to have his name in the title too.
Agree on this
exactly, he has been competing internationally for many years
2018 was a 73kg and did 155/187
Now, 78kg bw 165/209, I think he is more than ready to do
165-170 snatch
209-215 c&j 2024-->
This was interesting to see. I like how Rahmat's father was there with him. And I can't express how much I like the backstage footage, the editing and content that WH provides.
This Qatar cup has been better than the last worlds in Saudi Arabia. So many highly competitive sessions. Glad to see north Korea back. They have some fierce and tough lifters.
Weightlifting House on point with the dramatically potent music bed to foreshadow the 100%, prime grade A competition between these two hombres.
All the best from beautiful Vancouver, Canada!
That pull on the 214 clean was insane. It was so slow yet had so much power
How about giving some credit where it's due and putting RI Song-Chongs name in the title instead of calling him "unknown"? He just beat Rahmat and put up insane numbers.
The 374 total would have qualified him for Paris in the 89s if North Korea was eligible. He didn’t even fill out the class weighing 78 kg.
@@johndoherty-hh2ck yeah that was an absolutely outstanding battle to watch. Song-Chong's jerk was amazing.
Well he is unknown, isn't he? I sure as hell haven't heard of him prior to this. Plus, I'm sure "unknown" is kind of just a buzz word for clickbait. They had no malicious intentions.
@@s_e_t_z3248 I agree it was clickbait, that's the issue. A performance like that deserves name recognition in the title. This guy just came out of nowhere to establish himself as top tier.
Very true!
This is your best video by far. More hype edits like this pls!!
Different styles of weightlifting, two bulls going at it. Korean lifter jamps forward in jerk and still manages to control it.
Amazing to see so many athletes wearing WH especially nazar getting 223kg today
Nassar 89 category
How the hell he goes under with that slow of a pull. Freaking AMAZING!!!
this was my exact thought. I'm stunned that he even got underneath it at all. Impressive.
It almost stopped at the second pull. His upper back is incredibly strong
As long as the second pull is fast enough, the first pull doesn’t need to be fast at all.
@@joalvarado8506 Yes, basically he hit 214kg hang clean
Big huevos to dive under that weight. U know a lot of lifters would have Clarke. He weighed about the same as when he did the 209, 76+ kg. To Chong was light also 78 kg.
Tie World Record 209kg and 5kg World Record Attempt 214kg as 76,94 in 81kg Class was Insane Battle on Non Olympics Class
The initial speed of the 214 clean was sooo slow, but then he changed gears real quick getting under it. Unbelievable
It's a real shame we lost the 81 category from the Olympics, I'd love to see what Rahmat could do if he filled out this weight class
Maybe they’ll have it in 2028 alternating it every other Olympics 73/81 89/96 102/109. It really sucks that weightlifting can’t get all its classes in the Olympics but that’s what happens when you’ve been a bad boy. It wasn’t automatic that weightlifting got back in for LA 2028. Touch and go for a while.
@@johndoherty-hh2ck how can it not be a bad boy. They are not happy with drugs but at the same time without drugs nobody would watch weightlifting cause you would get at guys snatching 160kg for a WR in the superheavy category...
I’d still watch without drugs if I knew(a big if) everyone was on a level playing field.
@@johndoherty-hh2ck It won't be as fun to watch though because we've seen how far the human body can lift things with drugs. 400 kilogram total was the norm for heavyweights now it's not. There needs to be an untested side of weightlifting.
So we’ll find out who has the best chemists in the world?
Holy shit that NK lifter is insanely strong!
The video quality, editing, etc. Amazing content brother. Thank you!
Very engaging! I wonder how much they were aware of each other in the backstage
That was one of the most incredible cleans I've ever been privileged to witness 😮
It's like a deadlift with a hip thrust, incredible how he can get under that. I feel like taking a breath before the jerk threw off his rhythm, he's still inhaling as he's dipping. If he could get that down, he could make it
Slow is smooth and smooth is fast.
Seriously though, that 214 clean must have been scary to get under
great work Seb and team! Keep'em coming!
rahmat's 2nd pull phase in his clean is insane
Is it just me or does Rahmats technique almost look like he hitches the bar? Like the bar is pulled so slowly that prior to starting his second pull, you can see him really driving the bar back into position with his lats/arms. The drive back with his upper body is relatively faster than the actual first pull that it doesn’t decrease the acceleration of the bar as those learning to lift would usually have it.
Rahmat's pulls are SO slow. And still he gets under it every single time. But most impressive is: He does most of his lifts in 1 breath. That man's just built different.
bro wtf. How is he so much stronger than everyone else. It's not even close. It's the biggest margin out of any weight class.
His front leg is bended at jerk position. Thought it's more ideal to keep it vertical, is it a technique issue or do some people really get better jerk by place weight on front leg?
7:26 wasn’t that right elbow a bit suspicious with the lockout rule
This whole competition the judges looked like they didn't care about elbow wobble. Multiple times already I've seen a lift and thought there's no way they'd pass it but they passed it anyway. Don't remember all but I remember Ritvars Suharevs looking pretty wobbly in his 180 clean and jerk but he got it anyway.
I'm glad they called it a good lift. That rule seems kind of unnecessary
@@durrantmiller8810I agree; I hate that rule but at the very least, it needs to be applied consistently, not super strict in some comps and whatever you need to to do get it lifted in other comps.
nah all good
How many speeds that kid got? Was in 2nd gear till mid thigh then shifted into 3rd then fourth!
I thought I was having a Mandela effect moment when I kept seeing PKR in the description instead of PRK
Shouldn’t be an R in that country’s name. Nothing about North Korea suggests a republic. A D for dictatorship is more appropriate.
@@johndoherty-hh2ckThe full name is the Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea. You know the one that doesn't have 30k foreign soldiers controlling them.
Is Rahmat ever returning to 73kg? Is he not gonna duke it out with Shi in the A group?
yes he is gonna compete as a 73kg in paris
It looks like the Korean did 20 70 120 150 170 190 and then opened with 200, Amazing
Rahmat's 3rd attempt clean is just absolutely bonkers.
2:13 this is 120kg not 70
The weights looked light for Ri. Very powerful pulls.
North Korea weightlifter does not have a "weightlifting shoes", he uses a Chinese brand running shoes with 2 hard blocks sticking under the heels, if anyone noticed it!
He's wearing weightlifting shoes, specifically the Asics 727, which are highly sought after and expensive.
Lmao, those are asics 727s rare shoes.. made to order thrice a year exclusively in Japan..
The title of the video needs to have Ri Chong-song's name on it. Come on, give the guy some more respect.
Rahmats 214 is the literal definition of ‘nice deadli…😳’
Bang rahmat keren banget! Semangat bang. Jaga kesehatan ya bang. Semoga bahagia selalu ❤
1:11 wtf how does his head do that hahha
The NK guy with equipment/gear that seems to come from the Soviet period... xD
Wonder why didn't Ri go for 210 on his final attempt, to get the WR
My guess is some sort of superstition that I dont care to elaborate 😅
2:14 that's 125 not 70
Wow the Korean lifter’s stance starts so close
Frog stance
world class performances
Best Korea
What does WR + KG mean? World record is clear, but KG?
Last clean was impossible. It's like he can cleans the weights he deadlifts!
If the fight wasn’t so hard out of the hole he’d have gotten it, he ran out of gas
Both lifters weight less than 81 kg so they will probably compete in the Olympics as a 73. Shi Zhiyong is going to have his hands full
North Korea's not eligible to compete at the Olympics cus they kicked WADA out of thier country so there's no unannounced testing of any of their athletes. They are literally only tested in competition. Why the IWF allows them to compete I do not know; it's probably this attitude that's getting weightlifting reduced and potentially kicked out of the Olympics. This is North Korea's big shabang whereas other athletes are saving their max peak for the Olympics.
NK lifter is qualified in 81 kg category so he will compete in 81 kg. Rahmat qualified in 73 kg & 81 kg category and Rahmat will choose 73 category in Paris
There’s no 81 kg class in Paris for men. Unfortunately for Ri Chong no North Korean weightlifters are eligible to compete because NK didn’t allow drug testing for about four years.
How the f**k did he manage to clean the 214 lol
Anyone know Rhamat's body weight? Also it think he could have gotten the record at 211 or 212
76.93
How is it going for Rizki? The other coach tjere is his father right?
no, thats not Rizki's dad. Rizki is recovering from appendicitis surgery, set to return next year
@@masayash ok thank you for info, idk where i got that idea from
@@larryboi2706 well theyre both "well-built"
@@masayash is his father involved in coachning?
@@larryboi2706 to my knowledge, Rizki's father coaches Rizki personally, Im not sure if he coaches other national athletes as Rahmat's does
Im so happy NK is back, they truly are the best, maybe more so than China it seems.
Would love to know the height of the athletes
Rahmat is listed at 5'8", he's a freak of nature.
@@sandrost4243 tysm how can i see that info, searched but couldnt find anything
@@sandrost4243yes we small small people, but we strong lmao
The Korean lifter's heels are so close together and his toes are pointed out more when he pulls. I'd think it would make pulling the weight harder, but he doesn't seem to struggle at all.
Similar to many japanese athletes
@@masayash Do you know why they lift like that? I would think it would be a less efficient way to load the posterior chain, but clearly not.
@@ComradeQuestion42069 Im not sure, but i think it's to do with clueing the legs to open sideways, when receiving the bar during snatch/clean, since there's no way that you could maintain that leg position when receiving the bar and still standing, youd be crushed😅
🔥
Fast action team!!!
Is Rahmat still going down to 73?
Yes
Indonesia ❤🇮🇩
Why rahmat not attempting 210 kg? Instead of 214, it's too heavy
wtf is that head position😂
Who the heck is this guy???!!!
Rahmat should stick to 73kg. He's too small for 81
wah ada indonesia cuy
He is from North Korea....
🏋 💪 🏋
impressive af 0-0
Both women at 525 so gorgeous and strong wow
Maybe I'm wrong but in the other event Ri's lift may be categorized as "no lift" due to his elbow shake in 209kg.
No one cares
Bro brought his best against someone whose family will be punished if he loses lol
How is PKR competing internationally with no testing for 4 years?
IWF tryna make a point that they don't give a F about doping, only the Olympics, in which North Korea weightlifting is not eligible to appear at.
Rahmat end of carreer by Unknown Korean 😂😂😂😂
This is very upsetting
In 2023, food insecurity in North Korea is at its worst since the 1990's famine. Ri Chong-song is probably eating more than a whole village in his country.
And the porky dictator Kim is eating 10x that
nice try, cia
Imagine believing this nonsense about Best Korea.
@@familyfununboxing8408what crap man.....
@@janedoe2509The feds are so much easier to spot nowadays. It's as if they aren't even trying anymore.
I don't understand Rahmat's clean technique. I see that it is generally continuously accelerating. But it moves so slow. Then Boom it is on his shoulders. To my it looks like he just clean deadlifts. Then just hip cleans. And some how it is there.
kor lifter made in a lab.
North Korea clearly on gears
Lmao Rahmat jumps from 201 to 214 kg 🤣 Of course he missed. He’s trynna pull a Kianoush and we all know how that usually turns out 🤣
That was a Rahimov if anything.
Someone didn't watch the 89s
13 kg jumps are nothing for Karlos. He swung for the fence in the bottom of the ninth and knocked it out of the ballpark.
