Another great fun video Rick, Thanks for sharing this project with us. Takes me back to my first bike, 1967 BSA 441 Victor. Had it with me in Washington and Montana that Summer while I was working for the Northern Pacific Railroad. Signal gang of 12 living in outfit cars on the side track. You two are great for bringing back fond memories. Shaka and Aloha from Grubstake at the Jungalow on the Big Island. ❤
What a nice video! I really have fond memories of my 1970's Motorcycle riding... My crazy 1975 Honda 350 was an on/off road bike... it did well on the highway with the smoother tires, but it had the high muffler for offroad, and we could switch out the tires, but it was a little heavy for trail riding... Still... my favorite trail bike was a Yamaha 125 If I remember right... very good at steep inclines and great at trailblazing! So glad I didn't crash ... several friends were not so lucky... Safety isn't always the rider... it can be Cars or trucks on the road. BE SAFE!! but have fun! :)
You are so right. At 74 I am doing too much sitting around just looking. Until last year I always had a project ahead of me. Don't seem to have anything to do now.
Thanks Rick and Linda, my wife and I absolutely Love your videos🤠 We have enjoyed many of them that are loaded with variable subject matter. They do get real sometimes, especially when the subject matter is serious. But that's what we love, because we always know that they will come with refreshing insight on how to face life challenges and with wholesome insight, attitudes and integrite and always giving God the Glory for life☝
Oh yes, this kind of thing interests me big time! My husband and I rebuilt 8 engines of various kinds and we built a race car, street stock, from the ground up and I was always his grease monkey 😂. I just loved working with him and he loved that I had small hands and wrists and could reach into the small difficult places he couldn't. Gish this makes me want to roll up my sleeves and get greasy 😂! So you better bet I'll be watching every one of these rebuild videos! Thanks for sharing!
@gonagain oh I know I would and that would be awesome. Alas, we live to far apart and I can't travel, so I'll just watch and comment and we can have fun this way! You're sharing with all of us this way is so wonderful and appreciated. Blessings to you both and your family and Happy Thanksgiving!! 🦃
Wow ... What a wonderful friend!!! It's a great bike!!! I never had a Honda. My first bike was '60 Panhead in 1968 my Grandpa's mechanic showed me how to do the carb reconstruction, cleaning fuel lines (some silly man put in cheap gas, instead high-octane), changing out brake lines, moving the pegs forward, angling the seat for my body's light frame, & teaching me the benefits of Coke Cola, etc. A friend powder coated after Sven dismantled it. A few months in she ran like the Scooter Tramp she was! She was beautiful, ran well, blew a lot of oil & she was mine. I was the envy of anyone who saw her, my Jezebel! Motorcycle Clubs were in awe of me, a 14 yr old who could handle my beast of a bike. I know yall will have as much FUN as I did fixing it up & riding ❤
Been a long time since I did a, points and condenser, installation. Had two Honda cars that had that set up and a few Honda motorcycles. “Dwell” is a word that comes to mind.
I'm a past motorcyclist from the era of Windjammer fairings and Vetter bags. Ha! Some kind of memories. Remember all my long distance travels out west, east and south. Amazing I'm still alive to remember! Have fun on the rebuild and your next ride. Rubber down.
Wow Rick what a Score. Just Think how much you will learn by Having to fix this up because it's broken everywhere. You Learn, You Fix, You Keep, What a Deal. Somehow I had thought this bike was a Harley, but that doesn't matter much, it's a Honda and probably better in the long run. Just be Safe, that's all I request of anyone riding on two wheels. Above all, I'm hoping all is going well with You & Linda. God Bless. Get any snow yet???
Hey there! Oh, we have snow. You want some of it? We're still getting things in order so we can leave sometime after Christmas and head south. Oh yea, we also have a Harley Road King that's just a beauty and a great ride; hope to do road trips on that in the summer. Blessings to you, Vincenzo! Aloha...
Had a 1975 gl1000, vetter fairing w/ round running lites, corbin double seat. 180, 000 miles later. Went to a st1100, never as comfortable. Wish I still had the gl. It was a bike, not a two wheel plastic showboat.
One of the greatest concerns about a used Gold Wing, especially one that been idle is, the belt located on the front of the engine. Looks like a nice. Great to see you!
Nice to see you working on the Honda Goldwing trying to get it going again and I hope that you eventually get going and back out on the road again You and Linda have a wonderful weekend Thank You Rick.🚌🚐🇺🇲
I had a 76 Goldwing. I found a company way back then that made a plug and play electronic ignition for it. Much better than those points. Great bike, built a trailer from a boat trailer and cartop carrier and my wife and I rode from Okla to oregon the year St. Helens blew up. Most memerable vacation ever.
I wish I had your skill, and knowledge, Rick. I have an old 1972 Honda, and an old Harley, that needs restoring. I’ll be watching all your videos. Maybe I’ll learn something.
@lynbren Getting on towards fifty years ago, I did the same to my bike.never had to fool with it again. At 77 I have a different time with names. Pretty sure the mfg was in San Dimas or Pomona. Tried memory lane, perlux was consumed by Grote sometime ago. Can't anything more. I stopped working for Honda in 2002. Now suffer brain fog, like daily. 🤫🤔🥹
WOW.... Good luck on that awesome project Rick. I have an '81 , 1100 GL interstate sitting in my garage. Stripped it to make it Cafe style. You've an antique there you'll enjoy riding.
I still remember the Honda commercial back from my Honda Supper Bike Racing days, Follow The Leader he's on a Honda. I've owned 9 Hondas started with a Honda Trail 70 all the rest were sport bikes. Last one was in 2006. Great motorcycles 🏍. Have fun and be careful out on the road.
Great project Rick, brought me back to my 76 GL1000. Had a ton of fun with it going on trips sometimes taking one of my sons with. I had the same fairing and saddle bags. I am sure you could find parts for the bike, fairing and saddle bags at one of the larger motorcycle swap meets. Enjoy
Definitely enjoying watching the progress. I think it’s a lot of fun working on projects like that as well. It gives you something to keep you busy and keeps your mind active
It’s been some years ago, but, there was a lady that rode a Honda Valkyrie, saw her quite often. I’m 5’7” and she was shorter than that, rode that beast like it was a scooter.
The trim should be available, speak with an auto body man, but looks like the same trim you see on door edges on autos, there used to be a motorcycle salvage yard in Alabama if I am remembering correctly, that Road King is what i AM MORE FAMILIAR WITH AS i HAVE A 97 Roadking plus A 2015 Harley Triglide
Looks good. Please make sure brakes, tires and suspension are road worthy. Rear brake is not adequate for stopping. 70% of the braking power comes from the front brakes.
My older brother gave my younger brother his Goldwing several years ago. It was a bit rough but younger went to work on it and got it all polished out, new parts, running good, then drove it up to show older brother how it turned out. You could feel regret was thick in the air but it was an impressive restoration. He kept it a couple years and eventually sold it to get a Harley Peace Officer Special from a retired cop. It was a sharp Harley. He's bike less now, but does have a 67 GTO and 2007 Vette to keep him occupied. Moral of the story is, stick it out, get it done, and you're going to have some good times. Take care.
Man that thing is nice looking for its age , at least it looks than way on camera. I think I would be putting the fairing back on , I’m not that fond of the wind in my face anymore (at our age) at anything much over 45 mph. , or the bugs in my teeth. Lol I just sold my 2005 Harley 1200 Custom (Sportster) a few years back. Every now and then I get the itch for maybe another road bike , but I’ll probably just keep putt’in around on my like new 1983 Honda 185 XL that I bought new.
The Honda is in pretty nice shape except for the fairing was more damaged than shown so we decided to go without it. We're looking forward to doing short road trips on the Harley.

Neat project. Beats dying in the recliner, right? 👍 and heck, if you sell it and make a little $$ so be it. Thanks for sharing

Been a long time since I did a, points and condenser, installation. Had two Honda cars that had that set up and a few Honda motorcycles. “Dwell” is a word that comes to mind.
Nice classic motorcycle, it's nice when you find these older bikes in pretty good shape.
Fun times working on a Honda, the Goldwing never get's old.

I definitely find what you're doing interesting. I'm as excited to watch you restore that old Gold Wing as you are to work on it. Thanks Rick.
One of the greatest concerns about a used Gold Wing, especially one that been idle is, the belt located on the front of the engine. Looks like a nice. Great to see you!
Can't wait to see you work on this bike.
good job I enjoyed the video as always.
Thanks 👍
Nice to see you working on the Honda Goldwing trying to get it going again
and I hope that you eventually get going and back out on the road again
You and Linda have a wonderful weekend Thank You Rick.🚌🚐🇺🇲
Thank you Roger! It got snowy on us so we're sticking close to home.
What a cool motorcycle. Yeah I could see the fun factor, like a mechanical puzzle 😊
I had a 76 Goldwing. I found a company way back then that made a plug and play electronic ignition for it. Much better than those points. Was it Purlex in San Dimas, CA?
@@Raya14 No, I'm checking with my brother, maybe his memory is better than mine. lol
I wish I had your skill, and knowledge, Rick. I have an old 1972 Honda, and an old Harley, that needs restoring. I’ll be watching all your videos. Maybe I’ll learn something.

Thank goodness for YT, you can find lots of videos on this subject. Thank you for watching ours!
Kudos to you keeping the channel active when not traveling. Winter drives us in different directions:)
Love this Rick had a couple 70’s honda’s back in the day 😊
Wow cant wait to see more videos with this bike
WOW.... Good luck on that awesome project Rick. I have an '81 , 1100 GL interstate sitting in my garage. Stripped it to make it Cafe style. You've an antique there you'll enjoy riding.
Those cafe racer style bikes are cool looking.

Thanks, we'll be careful.
: ) WOW ! THANKS MUCH for sharing and hope you can restore the Wing :) LOVED IT! ALL the BEST and stay well ! Cheers : )
Thanks, we're working on it! Sometimes it's fun, sometimes it's aggravating..
I had an 83, great bike.

It's a great winter project, keeping us busy when we can't get out. You're right about keeping our minds active.
Nice looking bike. Hope you guys have fun riding it once you get it going.
👍👍had a 79. Loved it. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Great project and worth the effort.
Love this stuff! I've worked on a few classics, bringing them back to life.
It’s been some years ago, but, there was a lady that rode a Honda Valkyrie, saw her quite often. I’m 5’7” and she was shorter than that, rode that beast like it was a scooter.
I never thought of that , can’t afford to three wheel it
Right on! Awesome!
Projects are fun to work on and rewarding as they progress. Ya gotta have projects! 🤙
Exactly right about that!
Keep after it, The Old bikes seam to run for a long time ! To TALL for my short legs. Harley Electra Glide I found Lowered for my self.
We're working on it. It's going to be a nice bike when we're done with it.
Looks good. Please make sure brakes, tires and suspension are road worthy. Rear brake is not adequate for stopping. 70% of the braking power comes from the front brakes.
Right! We're working on it. Thank you for watching, we appreciate the comments.

Good advice, I like that. Thanks, Jeff.
I want to hook a shaft drive to a propeller and install in a boat. Maybe use the different gears.
Try a company called Parabellum, I believe the owner worked for vetter fairings
Thank you. The fairings were more damaged than we thought so it's going to be a "naked wing". Appreciate the tip from you.
Honda's last forever.
They sure do!
This episode from a few months back?
Did you get some turn signals?
I may have a set for you! Let me know!
That's a nice offer! I had to scrounge around but I found them. Thank you.

What’s the story with the Harley you were riding, begged, borrowed or stolen:)
After buying the 2003 Road King in Billings, Rick had to ride it over 200 miles back home. They both did great in the strong gusty winds.
I have a 1995 Goldwing.but im to old to ride
Put a sidecar on it. And it will be stable for you to ride.
Man that thing is nice looking for its age , at least it looks than way on camera. I think I would be putting the fairing back on , I’m not that fond of the wind in my face anymore (at our age) at anything much over 45 mph. , or the bugs in my teeth.
