It's not the same as auto-fill, but you can use Alt + Backspace or Ctrl + Backspace to fill a selection with the primary or secondary colour. You will need an active Pixel Layer for this to work.
I've seen a few of your videos now and I just want to say that I like your art style.

Thanks for this. I had no idea there was a shortcut. I tried it out and it does speed things up a bit. I will have to give it a proper go at some point.
