The thing I love most about this channel (Besides Nutn) is the amount of variety in the videos, it's not the same over and over. One of my favs ever since I started watching a long time ago in my old account.
I have several Condor knives, if I remember correctly the knives are actually made on German Machinery in El Salvador. Knives are usually rough out of the box but I like that because it gives me something to play with. High carbon steel with wood handles. Something my grandfather would carry back in the day. Oh yeah they are cheap for what you get.
1075 is a low carbide, simple tool steel. So it has great edge stability at low angles. I'm talking single digits per side, for true high sharpness. You cannot achieve stability at those angles with high carbide steels like S30v.
Please make more food vids. Awsome to watch and to see the different blades in use. But good times and great foods makes this series and goals a lot of fun to watch
cheap food prep type camp knife I kinda fell into was the crkt M.U.K...designed as a tackelbox fishing type deal but excells in basic food prep.. doesnt look like it would be good for the job but it grows on you.. superlight and versatile for about 12 bucks
for my carbon steel and stainless blades i use food grade mineral oil now as i have had acouple of occasions when i used veg oil that it went tainted. For a camp / food prep knife i use the SOG seal pup elite satin fine edge E37-N abit thicker than the condor but can be used for defense as well as it has more of an intimidation factor due to it's form factor. for cooking vids how about some vacuum flask cooking . I recommended you check the Condor Bushlore Knives excellent value.
@nutnfancy the word "Garuda" is actually a name for a mythical bird in the javanese mythology. And it is also the symbol for the Republic of Indonesia, like the eagle gripping an arrow on one claw and gripping something else on the other as the symbol of America
I have always used my dexter Russell filet knives, as my camp food prep knife. 20 bucks and razor sharp! Nice review on your condor, I did hear about QC issues but I hear their customer service is awesome. Im Looking at the bushlore model.
@Brandon Myers true! that's why I purchased an 80% lower and I'm building my own ar from various sources and having it all shipped to a different address and will be put in my bug out bag. the time is coming
Joe Flowers is a good dude. Been talking to him since 2009 on Bladeforums. Biggest machete nut I know. He got me hooked to Condor blades, now I have dozens of them. They are great blades for the money. The ESEE lite machete is made by the same people as the Condors. As are the Fiddleback custom machetes and I believe the BHK machetes. Really great blades, Condor and parent company Imacasa. If you have any issues with Condor contact Rick Jones and he will make you happy.
I carry a kabar piggyback with my kabar bk9. Its probably not the best food prep knife, but it works fine for that purpose and it carries nicely with the bk9.
i like the cold steel kitchen knives in vg-1 they used to have. I would take like a TM, and a k5 or k7 to use for food. they are supper light, hold a nice edge, but do rust if not oiled. not a big deal. plus a recon 1 for regular cutting tasks. sometimes a machete and sawvivor too :-)
Cool review! I like my Condor Basic Bushcraft but the blade was messed up from the factory. I had to regrind the blade before it would sharpen. I think quality control is the reason Condor doesn't increase their prices.
Totally found my camp knife. Thanks fellow TNPers for the recommendations on the value option blades. Y'all really made my day with all the replies. Now im looking pistol. I carry sigma, I've been eyeballing the sig 2022. :-)
Hey Nutn, you should check out the Mora Companion knife when you get the chance. I use it in the same POU as that Garuda. Stainless or carbon steel, excellent sheath, its the perfect size for camp food prep and small cutting tasks. Best part is its $15 bucks! I think that Cody Lundin on that Dual Survivor show uses one sometimes. Just wanted to see what you thought of it.
Sir it would be great to see you do a review on then condor kephart I don't think it's a bushcraft knife but a good all around good camp knife . Take a look at it and give it a shot and let us know what you think . Thank you for your time !
I really prefer a thinner blade for food prep, I find the Cold Seel Roach Belly or a Mora to be about perfect for that task. And they way and cost WAY less.
Nice to see a review on a condor knife. I have been looking at some of there blades and wondered if they would be any good since they are so inexpensive.
Fwiw, the steel is from Soligen Germany, and Condors leather sheaths are truly well made. They need to seriously up their QC tho, even a $ increase would be worth it. Their grinds are often very poor.
Joe Flowers that would be great, Joe! I've not seen a design of yours i dont love. I'm a bushcrafter & hiker, not tactical guy, but i'd like to see more reviews of your designs. Terrasaur is my fav, but the Trekker would be Nutn's i bet...
Oh ... That's just swell, Nutn ! ... Yesterday, I did not know this knife existed ... Today ? ... I just cannot live without one. ... This knife thing is a sickness, with me. I cannot fit my collection into an ILBE Main Ruck and even if I could, I would not be able to lift it. I do agree that my thicker blades (even ~3/16ths) just really do suck for food prep, like chopping veggies or cutting or skinning apples or slicing meat. I am wondering how the ONTARIO SK-5 BLACKBIRD system compares.
Hey nutn would love to see you test an Anza brand file knife for toughness, mainly the Anza ranger. Love the look of these knives but question the practicality
he likes the Edge Pro Apex sharpening system. he actually has some vids on the system and how he uses it. pricey but, awesome system:) some places have them on sale....
The thin ones are, but the bushcraft black (one of the move heavy duty thicker mora knifes) is not that good at preparing food, I have tried cutting potato with it it, the potato flies all over the place because of the scandi grind and the thick blade.
I would be curious to get your opinion regarding the ESEE Izula II. I've been carrying it regularly and have used it successfully for various EDC tasks (including food prep), but I am sure it would also function well in minor camp roles.
i was gona get the gerber profile for 25buks! i think i'd rather have one fixed blade on me.with a thick blade.adjust the angle of which its sharpened and that help!
Hey Nutn! Really enjoyed this review. Made me wonder if you have ever reviewed any true machete? I couldn't find one searching, but my search-fu is meh. I would like to have a decent machete, and would love your opinion.
Question guys... I wish I was more I knife guy but is it expensive to take your knives to a shop to get them sharpened if you don't have a knife sharpener?
Hey nutn have u ever thought of reviewing the ka bar TDI fixed blades. Got 2 of them and love them both. They make great lbe knives. Check them out if u want to. Would love to get your opinion on the knifes. My boss says there great I have the blessed opportunity to work in a knife store. But also want to get ur opinion. Thanks Hunter
Nice review.... ageee the sheats are not that good. In fact i have molded my own Kydex sheath for some of my Condors (they are sold in any hardware store where i live). Thought it was fun you mentioned edge was like a machete.... because Imacasa (manufacturer) makes machetes since I remember and they are prectically the only ones sold here.
Nutn, other than that nasty cut you showed us, I saw all sorts of other ones. Knife review was awesome as usual though! Knife is interesting as a food prep knife, but I've mainly been using a folder for that role.
anyone know if gerber lmf 2 knife is any good ? does nutnfancy have a review on it, ive had my eye on it for a camp knife its on sale for $65 but i know nothing about knives or quality
I just wanted to apologize to TNP, I said a hurtful thing about motorcycle vids, and it was just my personal opinion. and it was wrong. I accidently trolled.. Ill admit it. Ive been a TNP'r since wayyyy back and I love all the vids( especially knife and gun reviews ) You can imagine that with such a diverse selection of videos, some people in the comments will clash. ya know like when cooking guys get into it with Knife and gun guys lol. sorry to you Nutn'. LONG LIVE THE PROJECT !
The thing I love most about this channel (Besides Nutn) is the amount of variety in the videos, it's not the same over and over. One of my favs ever since I started watching a long time ago in my old account.
Id love to see some more condor knives on here. Bushlore, nessmuk, ect. there line up is such an awesome value.
I have several Condor knives, if I remember correctly the knives are actually made on German Machinery in El Salvador. Thanx nutnfancy, this video sold me on this blade. Wanted one for a while and now I know I can trust it
Please make more food vids. Awsome to watch and to see the different blades in use. But good times and great foods makes this series and goals a lot of fun to watch

Joe Flowers is a bushcrafting expert who works for Condor. I first watched him in a bushcraft video on Escape2Endure. Very cool dude.
I have always used my dexter Russell filet knives, as my camp food prep knife. 20 bucks and razor sharp! Nice review on your condor, I did hear about QC issues but I hear their customer service is awesome. Im Looking at the bushlore model.
The Garuda is a mythological being of the indian culture, half Man, half Eagle, in Hinduism the incarnation of the God Vishnu. ;-)
@Brandon Myers true! that's why I purchased an 80% lower and I'm building my own ar from various sources and having it all shipped to a different address and will be put in my bug out bag. the time is coming

Awesome! I'd been looking to purchase this knife for the last year. but hadn't found the drive to buy it. but now I think I will
i like the cold steel kitchen knives in vg-1 they used to have. I would take like a TM, and a k5 or k7 to use for food. they are supper light, hold a nice edge, but do rust if not oiled. not a big deal. plus a recon 1 for regular cutting tasks. sometimes a machete and sawvivor too :-)

I suggest the AG Russell Deer Hunter for an awesome camp knife. 3.4 oz with sheath, super thin for food prep, VG-10 stainless steel, $50.
Hey Nutn, you should check out the Mora Companion knife when you get the chance. I use it in the same POU as that Garuda. Stainless or carbon steel, excellent sheath, its the perfect size for camp food prep and small cutting tasks. Best part is its $15 bucks! Review more condor products
Cold steel long hunter has been discontinued though. Unfortunate so I guess we have to buy the Gerado
Sir it would be great to see you do a review on then condor kephart I don't think it's a bushcraft knife but a good all around good camp knife . Take a look at it and give it a shot and let us know what you think . Thank you for your time !

Nice to see a review on a condor knife. I have been looking at some of there blades and wondered if they would be any good since they are so inexpensive.
Hey nutn, it'd be great to see a review on the full sized cold steel bushman, fixed blade. It's a great blade. Try it out!
Fwiw, the steel is from Soligen Germany, and Condors leather sheaths are truly well made. They need to seriously up their QC tho, even a $ increase would be worth it. Their grinds are often very poor.
Also, Joe Flowers designed a Tops knife, the Lite Trekker, that UL Tnprs would love.
If he wants to review any more condor stuff, or the Lite Trekker, NutnFancy can let me know :)
Joe Flowers that would be great, Joe! I've not seen a design of yours i dont love. I'm a bushcrafter & hiker, not tactical guy, but i'd like to see more reviews of your designs. Terrasaur is my fav, but the Trekker would be Nutn's i bet...
I didn't have any luck with the bushcraft condor and the board center up from working on bamboo
Burn, you r the shit. I hope to see ur bids for a long time. I appreciate the uncurrupted honesty.
Great to hear more cooking vids are on the way!
But then with this knife you could force survival use, you could baton with the Garuda, where the thicker blade would help
I am wondering how the ONTARIO SK-5 BLACKBIRD system compares.
The cooking vids are some of my favorite!
looks good! I suffer with knives that are too thick, so I agree with you on that one!
equipe2endure does. i have heard both good and back things about it.
Hey nutn would love to see you test an Anza brand file knife for toughness, mainly the Anza ranger. Love the look of these knives but question the practicality
Another awesome knife review by the master of all things cool reviews on youtube.
Hey nutn the fact that your don't have more Condor videos goes against what you stand for.. Get crackin!
Mora knives are outstanding. Good for cooking to bushcrafting.
Check out equip 2 endure for more on joe flowers. If I'm not mistaken.
I agree, I really love a thin knife, it slices so much easier.
Garuda is a name of a mythical bird here in Indonesia.. I wonder if they got their name from that bird
Sweet vid, same POU is the old hickory butcher knives by ontario at 16 bucks I'd love to see a vid on it! Thanks nutn!
Love it how nutn is always banged up! Keep betting out there brotha
I thought I saw a Spyderco Manix 2 XL I'm the 'to be reviewed' gear montage in the beginning! Psyched.
he likes the Edge Pro Apex sharpening system. he actually has some vids on the system and how he uses it. pricey but, awesome system:) some places have them on sale....
The thin ones are, but the bushcraft black (one of the move heavy duty thicker mora knifes) is not that good at preparing food, I have tried cutting potato with it it, the potato flies all over the place because of the scandi grind and the thick blade.
I can't believe you haven't reviewed any Mora knives yet.
Nutnfancy, can you review this new Ron Hood series knife Buck/Thug ? I saw it on BladeHQ.
"Now that is a knife handle there boys" ROFL That was awesome!!!!!!!!!!!
Superglue that tab down, Nutn. Or use the left hand for glove modeling...
Hey Nutn, have you done a video on your kydex holsters?
If you haven't done one could you do one?
Joe is a great guy :D I met and talked to him for a long time at blade!
Are you doing a review on that Kabar soon? I hope so.
Hello. Have you checked out Cold Steel's Pendleton Hunter & how do you think it will do in food prep since it is a thick blade ?
that tanto version is second type of cool for me
Hey Nutn! Really enjoyed this review. Made me wonder if you have ever reviewed any true machete? I couldn't find one searching, but my search-fu is meh. I would like to have a decent machete, and would love your opinion.
Won't the cold steel bushmaster be as good for a better price when cooking?
(The handle might be to week for other tasks)
Question guys... I wish I was more I knife guy but is it expensive to take your knives to a shop to get them sharpened if you don't have a knife sharpener?
Hey Nutnfancy, like your videos, keep it up. But i was wondering if you could do some throwing knife reviews.
can you please do a review of the condor El Salvador machete?
They are hit or miss. Mine was incorrectly ground from the factory.
why is this the first condor tool & knife review i have seeen from you?
Do you think that thin CA glue might seal the Micarta to steel seam from moisture?
Better knives ive seen inawhile. Im interested in it, deffently need a kydex thoe.
Joe Flowers is a really cool guy... I found out about him through equipped to endure.
nice value knife! I just have no place for this due to owning a SOG NW Ranger.
They are great defensive knives but they are real heavy and are only really good for defense . For anything else they kinda suck lol
You don't know Joe, or at least know of him? He's a fellow RUclipsr and is part of the Equip 2 Endure crew.
please do a review on the cold steel recon tanto san mai iii
wow how did you do that to your hand?
£74 here in the UK.
Hi, I have a couple high carbon steel blades. The Garuda in the near future. What do you put on the blade to keep from rusting and for sharpening?
I was just about to ask that!
Bag for the buck. Condor makes some good bush crafting knives.
Crazy good review! Thanks for meeting my needs dude! I have a few condors but not this one.
Really easy to re-sharpen too.
Would you use this knife to clean and prepare fish?
condor makes some really good knives
Can you review/hate on the gerber parang
Sold! On order for tahoe in August. Thanks nutn
Does anyone have any experience with the Ontario Abaniko 5? Would love to hear some of your opinions on it.
Nutn, other than that nasty cut you showed us, I saw all sorts of other ones.
Knife review was awesome as usual though! Knife is interesting as a food prep knife, but I've mainly been using a folder for that role.
Thin....why the Mora Companion is my choice for camp knife.
Sanding and oiling your wood handled knives is common practice. You should do it with almost every knife under 100 some dollars.
anyone know if gerber lmf 2 knife is any good ? does nutnfancy have a review on it, ive had my eye on it for a camp knife its on sale for $65 but i know nothing about knives or quality
I just wanted to apologize to TNP, I said a hurtful thing about motorcycle vids, and it was just my personal opinion. and it was wrong. I accidently trolled.. Ill admit it. Do the Schrade SCHF9
To any bashers of this knife or similar ones this is value VALUE not the best we are looking for jack of all trades or best bang for the buck
Review the RMD!!!!!!!!!
Mora knives are great for cooking.
Joe Flowers from E2E? :D
HD? :(
Great knife review Nutn.
S.O.G. Field Pup for food prep
Great review Nutnfancy!
