A conversation on corporate results on Business Today TV has snowballed into a major political issue in the current general elections. A comment by a top L&T executive over the impact on Hyderabad Metro ridership due to the free bus travel for women scheme in Telangana is echoing loudly in the corridors of power. First, it was Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy who reiterated that the freebie scheme will continue at all cost. Now, it is Prime Minister Narendra Modi who has taken note of the interview and slammed treasury-draining freebie schemes in a special conversation with a panel of India Today Group anchors Rahul Kanwal, Sudhir Chaudhary, Anjana Om Kashyap and Sweta Singh.

L&T decided to and also sold some of its stakes way back in 2022 and before, they are just putting a blame on freebies for the incompetence! it cant handle metro service!

use of Electricity to fuel which is not correct.

FREEBIES, QUOTA SYSTEMS, and BRIBES will not let India grow. What is the point of free buses for well-off people? Do something for the lower-income people. Congress will make Karnataka and Telangana deficit states. If the IT starts slowing, these two states will go down a lot.
I don't understand the economics behind Revanth Reddy sir statements. Why would any company take up a business if it's making a loss? Seems like Economics 101 failed.

Congress has the unique ability to take a decently well doing state and turn it into a chaotic one. Adhoc power cuts in Hyderabad ranging over an hour started recently where there were none earlier.
L&T is a very smart company, they won't carry a shitty asset and get rid of it asap.

If you blame bus facility for low metro ridership, then i will give a foolish solution - "Please shut down the car manufacturing units for further production and also immediately ban usage of cars".
Can anyone blame on manufacturing and usage of cars? Definitely should not. But the way BJP is continuously running multiple toolkits and these medias supporting without questioning is a disgrace.

Anyways, L&T metro travel pricing in Hyderabad is also very high compared to even more expensive cities like Bengaluru, Delhi or Mumbai.
So why is BJP promising freebies in Orissa and given in many other states?
Don't equate free ration and free bus ride... Both are different ...and i think u have got the answer!!
