I've seen him ollie the three stair, but never the five. I'm posting this on every Braille video and have been for some time. Eventually, he'll see it and have to do it. ;)
Yeah, I saw that, but he's never done the five stair, I've been watching these for a while. Someone else said he did the five stair, but if he did, it was a long time ago.
I've seen every episode of the Braille house and I haven't seen him ollie the 5. He did the three several times, but never the 5. When I get time, I'll go back and watch them again though, I don't like being wrong. ;)
Hey Lance you could get some automotive brake cleaner to clean the Teflon spray off that down 5 down rail. Then rewax it normally, or maybe with the Teflon just less of it. Just a suggestion
First I wanna thank Braille for making me want to skate after 20 years, I am 37 now and I skate about 3 month and its awesome I can already do all basic tricks I did 20 years ago! Just bought Avenue trucks after seeing your review and there are awesome for me they definitely absorb impact, now I am confident to do boardslides, grinds , noselides on much higher rails and ledges, flip wise for me not better than my independent trucks. And I changed bushings to hard ones from bones.
alpfaable Jeez bro, take it down a notch lol. Fabian hasn't lost one yet, so help me make it happen. You should be rooting for this, not calling me retarded. I think it'd be the best SKATE match we've seen yet no matter who takes it.
Marc-André Giroux Lol, Im not defending the guy but wtf did his comment have to do with being racist? If anything it was slightly homophobic, and unwarranted to say the least.
L i z z L o v e r nah carbon fiber is one of the stiffest material to make a board out of,that's why race boards are used to make it,so that it wouldn't wobble. So far the "smoothest" board is bamboo due to its flexiness
thank you! I thought about building a suspension long board for a while, but I never came around for it because I wasn't sure about the part to get. I gonna go for it this spring then! :) Any recommendation for a board?
Acoustic damping will work. Sound absorbing pads set up in a peculiar manner will make that place not an echo factory. I used to do stuff like that for churches and halls and what not. Honestly the sound in that place bothers me in a lot of the videos
As a professional musician, it would be absurdly expensive, even if they were built home made. It would take probably hundreds of thousands of dollars easily to actually treat a warehouse space.
As soon as Lance said that they basically make it feel like you're riding a longboard because of how smooth they are, I knew I had to get these. My town has such horrible roads that these would be perfect for it. ALSO HERES AN IDEA: You guys should put the date each video is filmed in the description so we know how long ago everything was done
Just set up a set of these today. My initial impression is that they seem a bit heavy, BUT they definitely take the piss out of cracky, rough surfaces. Felt much smoother and made the trip to my spot a lot less fatiguing. The stock bushings feel like a medium, medium-hard compound and did not take long at all to get used to. I had been skating Bones hardcore medium on Indy Reynolds hollows.
i haven't been a part of this community for very long, and by no means am I a skater. But even though he's more of a cinematographer than skater, it's actually inspiring to see the Skate God progressing in his skating.
the whole time watching him explain what they were i wanted to hand him a note that says "the body is a spring so when you land it cushions," but I still liked it.
hellraiser666666 yea I skate indys with a heavy ass 8.25 deck. Eventually I got used to the weight though. Maybe Avenue can make a lower, lighter suspension truck eventually
i ride a 7.6 - so im pretty agressive about weight :D - my wheels are rather small/slim too - i guess for now the Avenue trucks seem to be good for cam-work - which is great too. thanks for the talk :)
Lance would be in love with soft wheels as for just cruising it makes it a lot more enjoyable. I have bones 60b soft wheels and I switched from hard wheels (100a) to soft because its make a lot better ride so that's why I would recommend for lance to try some out
Hey, Lance. Thanks for your in depth testing and evaluation of these trucks. I am planning to buy a pair since I just longboard around Miami carving, pumping, pushing. I have messed up knees from many years of abuse. But I still like skateboarding and have been experimenting with different set ups. So far I have found that a 77a durometer 72mm-85mm wheel really gives a super smooth ride. Obviously the guys over at Avenue Trucks have prototyped several versions of the truck springplate to get to an effective design that accomodates a majority of riders and weights of riders. I have an idea for them to make mounting the trucks the same as regular trucks and possibly lighten the weight without affecting the shock absorption quality. Anyway, you guys definitely convinced me to give them a try! Thanks and have a great skate!
Have you ever been to an indoor skatepark? 9 times out of 10 thats what they sound like, its hard to avoid with such tall ceilings. Sound deadening is just not feasible, there is PLENTY of other more important things you could spend that money on.
Shuriken dongle yeah dude they'd either have to invest in background noise mics or sound proofs the walls and ceilings with that foam either one could prove difficult
Lance Hookom maybe he was referring to the fact that the "special tool" avenue was "designing" to hold the hardware under the truck would essentially be a wrench, he wasn't necessarily calling the pliers a wrench
i ride avenue trucks and i absolutely love them...so much better on any type of rough ground or over cracks. they grind so much smoother on ledges as well. a 50/50 literally feels like ur just riding on the ledge, its that smooth. some people say they get better pop but i dont think its that noticeable of a difference.
I skated for 20+ years now, I'm 35, you know joints kind of stiff sometimes backs a little stiff sometimes so definitely think these kind of trucks would help thanks Lance!!
Why would Lance be skating on rough surfaces anyway? He admitted he's more of a filmer anyhow. But it does make since that he doesn't do tricks, though.
Rooster Bull Rush I think he meant in the use of transportation.. like if you want to get from point A to point B, or just go down to the shop you cannot always go on the smooth roads.... :)
Lance is a cameraman for skateboarders, and sometimes they go film in different spots and not always are they smooth surfaces prepared for skating. A lot of the times it's regular pavements or roads. And while doing tricks is one thing, when filming you want as little vibrations as possible to have a steady hand for holding the camera. Smoother ride means also less background noise generated from wheels, which you can observe even in this video when they ride outside.
Uncle Bernard in my workshop you'd get a smack around the head for touching fasteners with a pair of pliers. Pliers are for one thing, wrenches are for another, use the right tools and there won't be a problem. You don't use a ratchet as a hammer, you don't use a chisel as a pry bar, and you don't use pliers as a wrench
When the weather gets better, you should post content at the Braille house and at Fremont. I suggest skating at Fremont until it gets dark or whatever and then you go to the Braille house and skate. This is just a suggestion.
Was going to get a set of these for my first complete, but they were sold out at the time. Ended up just getting some basic krux trucks. Perhaps in the future I will try to get them again.
PERFECT!👍😊💯🔥 I live in Edmonton Canada and when Skate around the city with my soft longboard wheels on my normal skateboard it works great as the sidewalks arent as smooth up here so adding these suspension trucks will make it even better for me :)

Always amazes me the pop Fabian has..! This video was super great, enjoyed it way more than I thought I would :D Really like Nigel and Fabian's attitude towards skating and they aren't over the top childish.
this is the side of braille I don't like, the advertising targeting young kids who will want their parents to get whatever they see on there, fair enough that these guys are sponsored but Lance doesn't always skate with suspension trucks. if you want impact to me absorbed you'd skate with risor pads or skate an impact deck and use softer wheels and replace old bearings if you want a smoother ride. of course it's all down to individual preference, maybe I'm just old but these trucks won't catch on.
Raymond Jacka i think they tried to reach the wider audience. those trucks are made for cruiser board not street skating...it would have been a revolution otherwise...it is in fact just a great product in store..knowing that to have real suspension truck that annhilate all imperfections of the road we will have in the futur to bring to skate the technilogies available for cars.
Ordered these the first time I saw them on here. I had them shipped all the way to the Netherlands. I paid more for the shipping than the actual trucks. Totally worth it. These trucks are godlike.
From checking out the website they look like now they have 2 holes cut out of the bottom plate probably for weight, also they are advertising them as hollows. Just out of curiosity are yours hollow lance? Maybe the new ones are even better!?
Next time you want to quantify the vibration from wheels, trucks or even bushings consider the following: hard mount your smartphone to your board and use the internal accelerometer(s) in the phone to measure it. There are a bunch of apps you can download that accesses and logs acceleration that you can then use to compare using the scientific method. The key would be to hard mount the phone somewhere directly on the board so that it isn't dampened by padding or the phone case. (best place would be directly over trucks) If someone already suggested this in the almost 1200 comments then it MUST be a good idea. I wasn't going to read through them to check if it was already suggested.
Lance, I have avenues on my cruiser with 63mm semi-soft wheels. I bought them specifically to put on my cruiser. It is smoothest ride ever :D. Your theory is confirmed.
i like the way nigels legs look when hes mid trick. his wide leg kick just looks awesome. Fabien stomps harder and looks more powerful but nigels "in air" just makes the tricks look so fluid
I really like cruising and I was actually planning to get a set of suspension trucks with some nice soft wheels on my cruising board! Just need the trucks...
For the teflon-coated rail, try using a razor blade to scrap it off. If that doesn't work us a coarse sandpaper (200 or 400) and by hand or with an orbital sander to remove it. Then just simply spray paint it matte black again, preferably with Rust-Oleum to prevent rust, and it should be good as new!
great video guys! i love my suspension trucks! the pop, the grinds, the turns! but i havent tried them outdoors, only in skateparks atm! so im looking forward to the summer so i can skate outside!and the bad thing about them are as you said, the way you install them and the weight. otherwise they are awesome!!! 4.9/5
Lance will you make a video on the different sizes of skateboards please? I currently skate on an 8.0.. or if you could comment a link if you already have the video I can't find one
Lance is right, that first glass board video is what brought braille mainstream. It was definitely the first video I watched because I saw it in the "Recommended" side column.
hey lance maybe youll care a little more than aaron. if you turn the silver part of ur drill counter clockwise until it stops, you wont get that clicking while drilling. you will get much tighter bolts this way. just a tip. if you turn it and it clicks more that means you turned it the wrong way. turn it the other way until it stops and it will work.
Is board feel and bard control still strong or is that also effected and absorbed like impact. Also with that hand rail wipe it down with iso alcohol and then clean is with wd40 lastly simple green and then wax it it I’ll be perfect after
I think it would be cool, outside of SMS, to have someone Aaron, Nigel, Fetty etc. do a "Today I Learned" Grinds and slides videos!!! Maybe explaining what a Smith grind is or whatever the slide or grind is. I love your guys channel and am currently watching your vids at work! You guys got me back skating for sure!
I kinda wanna get a pair now. The grind rail seemed a bit sketchy though for those. Also, the amount of grind space on the trucks seems small. I prefer Destructos or Grind King for the grind space.
Lance, you surprised me. I didn't tke you as being very intelligent. However, you said "famous or infamous" in a way that specified that you knew the difference. Most people use them interchangeably and never know they are two extremely different words. Thank you for that. You gained my respect for saying those words. :)
Hi, can you do a review on Other Planet Revolution trucks? I know it's more of a longboard truck but there are not much reviews online. Would like to know how it carves and how tight and sharp it turns and if you could use it on a deck without cutaway, just a regular deck but with thick risers and wedges to prevent wheel-bite. Thanks and do more reviews.
I'm thinking about buying those I can do all flatground tricks up to kickflip and I can do really short boardslides on a low rail and my highest stair is a 5 stair. If I start skating these from now does that make it much harder for me to skate regular trucks later on?
Hey thanks for making this video I have been trying to learn about Suspension trucks and this video help so much thanks and now I'm probably going to buy suspension trucks
You guys should really chuck a couple of baffles in that space, just chuck some carpet over some 4x8 sheets of 1/4" ply and hang em from the rafters and screw some into the walls and it will really help with the echoes and sound. Sound is a tad harsh but its an easy fix
Wait.......Lance Skates?
T C exactly
T C he has done a lot of skating in older vids they even have Lance live skate support
it was he's FIRST TRY
T C lance is closing in on his 30's •,_________,•
He's Skate God
Wait this channel isn't for blind skateboarders ?
XD
whjat aree yoiu sauyingf ?.
Ah i got it, "braille" hahha
Erin yeagor is blind
Am I the only one who thinks that the Braille Army is a lot better channel than the main channel itself?
it's old braille ;)
yea, indeed. More videos with Chris Chann, Ty Moss, John hill, Garrett Ginner etc would be rly nice...
TinZe Nah I kind of feel the same cause they skate more on the other channel.. regular skateboarding lol
TinZe braille army is so much better, it actually has Skateboarding
TinZe only when they do these vids.

Marc-André Giroux Lol, Im not defending the guy but wtf did his comment have to do with being racist? If anything it was slightly homophobic, and unwarranted to say the least.
probs said cuz fabian is from austria or something mid european
Alpfaaable watch ur damn mouth I️ bet Fabian would win and beat ur ass afetr
Ultimate shock absorption board: Suspension trucks, shark/soft wheels, carbon fiber board.

With Cut Out? Do the avenue tracks allow for that?
oh! Thanks! :)
Could we get a SKATE game of Carlos VS Fabian? That would be dope
MrWhiteRabbitt Carlos went home already. He lives 6 hours away from the BrailleHouse
This is the best possible braille game of skate.
But in this video the teflon spray had been on the downrail and that was done w/ carlos but fabian had been there before that
you guys gotta use some of that youtube money for some sound insulation on the walls and ceiling.
azonicrider32 What? Haha. It’s a warehouse with concrete floors. That’s impossible
Ever heard of sound dampening for the ceilings? :)
@ it was an ironic message to the Braille team .. you fucking dumbfuck! Go work on your ollies.
Acoustic damping will work. Sound absorbing pads set up in a peculiar manner will make that place not an echo factory. I used to do stuff like that for churches and halls and what not. Honestly the sound in that place bothers me in a lot of the videos

Lance, you should do a filmer board set up (wide deck, suspension trucks, soft wheels) and see how the guys respond to a full filmer setup
One of the best channels (And Braille Army) on the entire RUclips, thank you so much for what you do. We love you guys
lance you dont ride anything why you lyin
LOL
He rides when he films.
what are you talking about, lance the #skategod is prolly better than you. he can tre flip and hard flip and kickflip, those are all hard tricks.
He can kickflip, but he only landed a tre flip and hardflip once or twice on camera.

how much do they weigh comp. to standard trucks?
hellraiser666666 I would guess they weigh as much as a set of indys
too bad - indys are heavy af. i have quite light Tensor trucks, if these suspending trucks are as light or even lighter that would be cool!
hellraiser666666 yea I skate indys with a heavy ass 8.25 deck. Eventually I got used to the weight though. Maybe Avenue can make a lower, lighter suspension truck eventually
i ride a 7.6 - so im pretty agressive about weight :D - my wheels are rather small/slim too - i guess for now the Avenue trucks seem to be good for cam-work - which is great too. thanks for the talk :)
look it up yourself, lighter than Indy heavier than trucks with hollow king pin and axles.
Lance would be in love with soft wheels as for just cruising it makes it a lot more enjoyable. I have bones 60b soft wheels and I switched from hard wheels (100a) to soft because its make a lot better ride so that's why I would recommend for lance to try some out
Suspension trucks + ricta clouds?
Hey, Lance. Thanks for your in depth testing and evaluation of these trucks. I am planning to buy a pair since I just longboard around Miami carving, pumping, pushing. I get that it's a giant warehouse, but you need to try and do something about that sound man.
I know that man, but the noise is deafening even on low volume. And i can hardly here what they're saying 30% of the time.
Shuriken dongle damn dude what the fuck are you playing audio off thats doesn't happen to me, I didn't even realize the noise till you brought it up

Is skateboarding made simple 1 worth it or is it just the same as the videos that are on RUclips

Rooster Bull Rush So, you only skate on smooth surface ? There are rough roads everywhere.
I don't really skate often but yes, when I do I try to find an open skate park with smooth concrete ground.
Rooster Bull Rush I think he meant in the use of transportation.. like if you want to get from point A to point B, or just go down to the shop you cannot always go on the smooth roads.... :)
I see what you mean. But, I mainly don't use my skateboard as a means of transportation.

I was the VERY FIRST one to ever subscribe to braille skateboarding ! now they are at 2.5million !!
like given for 8 bolts
Thanks to Braille and all of their videos, I've ordered my first ever board, and will be getting SMS once it arrives!
Lance should really practice more now that they have the brailehouse...
You guys are awesome I can't believe how many videos you guys put out daily, really love your channel!
+1 like for eight bolts.
You guys can get the teflon off the rail with a wire wheel in a grinder or a drill, or just a regular wire brush and some elbow power.
A special tool for the nuts? Is that a joke? It already exists, it's called a wrench.
many kiddies out there who only know these silly skatetools
or you could just use pliers
Uncle Bernard pliers can't torque for shit, and it's poor practice

hi im a big fan and i was just wondering.. how come you did not build any querter pipe's at the braille house???

Lance, would the wheels last a little longer with the suspension trucks?
The wheel would not be taking all the impact....
I really liked this video, loved the reaction of everyone riding on the pavement. Very fun and informative!
there are some foams to make the sound be less loud in places like that, they keep the sound waves and cut reverberetion
I'm so proud of lance's improvement over the beginning of Braille
Thank you for making this! I am getting suspension trucks in a couple of day!

Love my suspension trucks! Thanks braille for letting us know about them!
Is board feel and bard control still strong or is that also effected and absorbed like impact. Also with that hand rail wipe it down with iso alcohol and then clean is with wd40 lastly simple green and then wax it it I’ll be perfect after
I got my pair in a few days ago but its been pissing rain. I got some hard Khiro bushings too to kinda tune em.
Would you think using them with a Longboard would be overkill? Would the benefits be present, or overshadowed by the wheels?
Avenue Suspension base plate with gullwing sidewinder hangers on a longboard, plus the sharkwheels for good measure, gotta see it.
I have a mini longboard with risers, suspension trucks, and big wheels. It's a very smooth cruiser
Do they not wear out quicker than normal trucks? I'm thinking after several high impact ollies down stairs, they have to deform eventually, or?
Knofle they are really hard to deform
I kinda wanna get a pair now. The grind rail seemed a bit sketchy though for those. Also, the amount of grind space on the trucks seems small. I prefer Destructos or Grind King for the grind space.
Thanks Lance. That's a lot of good info on the trucks.
Why you haven't got a wrench? It is very handful tool for screwing bolts).
Would they fit on a old school(Powell) setup?(....do all the holes line up?
I want to guess before watching the video - I'd guess because it's more stable when filming.. absorbs the shock?
I'm thinking about buying those I can do all flatground tricks up to kickflip and I can do really short boardslides on a low rail and my highest stair is a 5 stair. If I start skating these from now does that make it much harder for me to skate regular trucks later on?
yo lance is actually killing it. keep it up man
Hey thanks for making this video I have been trying to learn about Suspension trucks and this video help so much thanks and now I'm probably going to buy suspension trucks
You guys should really chuck a couple of baffles in that space, just chuck some carpet over some 4x8 sheets of 1/4" ply and hang em from the rafters and screw some into the walls and it will really help with the echoes and sound.
Sound is a tad harsh but its an easy fix
