      Hallo aus Amerika! Ich glaube dass du klingst Deutsch, wenn du Englisch schreibst. Habe ich recht?
      Ich weiß dass ich die gegenteilige Fehler mache, wenn ich versuche Deutsch zu sprechen.
      Zb: "ich reite Avenue seit fünf Jahre" soll "i have ridden Avenue trucks for 5 years now" sein.
      Sorry if I sound rude. I am constantly noticing that I use English grammar in German, and the wrong prepositions often. Saw the opportunity to maybe make a language exchange connection. Es tut mir leid, wenn ich wie mein klinge.

    I'd really like to see more slides/grinds that touch the baseplate. How do nose/tail slide? Do they catch? Do they turn into razorblades when the edges file down?
    Does the movement affect smiths, etc?

    • @avenuetrucks1186
      @avenuetrucks1186 9 месяцев назад +8

      The nose of our baseplates are angled to allow for smooth slides and grinds, there are no hard edges when you look closely enough. Helps keep things smooth so you should have no issues!

      they catch very much so. spring steel is an extreamly hard metal (high carbon steel) which means if and when you do catch they WILL ruin every curb, ledge, rail and coping they come into contact with.. so unless you want to be hated by the skaters worldwide for ruining the "spot" id suggest you stick to the originals indy...

    I was sold the moment you started carving. As an old guy who likes to ride longboards and flow around parks, the problem i run into is that reverse king pin and dual pivot trucks tend to act really squirrelly going in reverse.
    These seem to perform just like standard trucks, and only give you the extra tight radius when you want them to.
    Thanks for the solid review!

    As someone who's ridden these since about 2016, I'm never going back. I cannot confidently say they truly improve my skating in any way because I honestly don't track that; but I can say that to me, the feel is so much better. Carving and pumping for speed on flat is so easy and fun, and it feels so fast and smooth in transition. Honestly the area I found they shined the most was on brick. The college I went to had a lot of brick patios/sidewalks and on a normal board I couldn't even ride it. With these it was like riding on rough pavement with normal trucks.
    Glad you liked them! I definitely recommend bringing them to a bowl to pump around!

    Jason, you left out a couple important considerations when it comes to choosing trucks: how heavy are they, and how does the grind feel?

    • @JasonParkSucks
      @JasonParkSucks  9 месяцев назад +9

      100% agree that I should’ve covered them in this video! I was just distracted by how they felt and focused on the other points - other comments mention they’re heavier, but I legit didn’t notice and I’ll admit I wasn’t even paying attention to that aspect. As far as grinds, I only did a few off camera but they felt really good - however I didn’t do any slides at all, and I’m not sure if the shape of the baseplate would be an issue for slides. Definitely would love to do a part 2 to this video and cover weight/grinds/slides!

    Is there a maximum recommended weight limit to skating these trucks, I weigh around 100kg, which is around 220lb or over 15 stone. I skate with soft wheels and a soft riser pad to lessen the impact on my aging joints. This invention seems like it will give me a few more years skateboarding, or reduce injuries (i.e., I can skate harder street wheels again or something).

    I have the gen 2 trucks. Smoothest ride ive ever built, and the pop is phenomenal. My only complaint is that practicing flip tricks reduces the lifespan a LOT when the board lands primo. Other than that, best trucks ive ever bought

    • @caesurabreak3528
      @caesurabreak3528 9 месяцев назад +6

      @phakoo23 it causes the kindpin housing to crack from the shock, and sometimes the bushing housing too. Granted, the gen 2's have only broken around the bushing housing, but the gen 1 can break both ways. This is all anecdotal btw, so your experience will vary if you get them. Ive gone through 4 sets in about 5 years of heavy skating

    I skated the first Avenue trucks for at least two years. I used them for 100% street skating, and I really enjoyed them. The downside with the gen 1 version of the trucks was that they were a bit heavy. That was the main reason that I gave up skating them, but the gen 2 is supposed to be more light weight. I am pretty light weight myself, so I actually didn't feel the suspension effect that much. If the skater is a bit more heavy weight, the suspension effect will feel a lot more. Great review Jason! 💯

    seeing how quickly you adapted to these trucks really speaks volume on your skill level.
    I got those trucks when they kickstarted and rode them for over 4 years on both generations, but ended up back on regular truck as I broke two pairs of hangars (same spot around the bushing loop) and another pair to broken king pins. Got too costly to import them and the durability wasn't as long as normal trucks.
    I do miss the smoother ride for cruising, just couldn't hold up over time

    I am older (49) and bigger (180lbs) than most truck users, so just practicing regular ollies for 20 mins is “high impact” on the old knees. Before switching to Avenue in the summer I wasn’t able to practice every day sustainably/consistently. Suspension trucks have made a huge difference! (Young ‘uns may not appreciate how high impact the sport really is - even the little drops.)

    I wonder if this Gen 2 trucks are anything recent, and if there are significant differences compared to what youtubers were reviewing few years back...?
    I would have really liked to know 3 things if I were to buy these:
    1.how tall are these trucks? The website doesn't specify it, and they look pretty tall...?
    2. How heavy are they compared to the same sized thunder or indy?
    3. Does the baseplate design affect doing slide tricks at all?

    • @JasonParkSucks
      @JasonParkSucks  9 месяцев назад

      Yeah these are all important and I wish I had gone over them! They are a bit taller than my current Ventures, remind me about the same height as high truck models for other companies. I didn’t notice them being any heavier than a normal truck but I read comments saying they’re heavier so I might have just not noticed but they didn’t feel heavier to me. And I totally spaced on doing slide tricks! I honestly think, with everything I missed it would be worth it to do a part 2 on these. Thanks for bringing these up!

    So many questions: weight comparison, wheelbite occurs?, 20 stair impact, vertical style bluntslides on round rails, options for medium and tight?, options for high, medium and low height?

    • @shred-sensei
      @shred-sensei 9 месяцев назад +1

      Gen2 is lighter for sure. I get wheelbite all the time because they're super flowy (like a surfskate) when they are loose- so I just always wax the wheelwells Reynolds style. I've never jumped a 20, but they feel great for jumping lots of things. I can do front blunts on round rails and they work great for those. I like them adjusted medium-very loose, but the faster I go I like to tighten them up. I have honestly no idea about heights, but i think there are only 2 models, and the baseplate is thin so you can always throw risers in there without haveing to get different hardware. OVERALL- the best feature of my skateboard is this truck brand, and flowing parks feels so fast and rad. Highly recommend!

    I have the (I think?) gen 1 trucks and my verdict was that they are best for a cruiser.
    pros- They turn well, and do absorb some vibration so they fit the bill for a transportation board, or maybe tricks on rougher ground. It's like the cupsole version of a truck if that makes any sense, you lose boardfeel, but maybe that's what you want.
    cons- A little heavy for a regular setup, and the part of the truck that you drag when nose/tailsliding kinda digs into things because its hard metal. Sometimes risers are needed to avoid wheelbite if you ride loose trucks, and that makes them fairly tall. The vibration dampening effect makes grinds (especially crusty ones) feel a little floaty and disconnected.

    also do they throw you off when you land on stuff, grinds or otherwise?
    would be bad if you had an effect similar to soft wheels on your board when you jump down stuff and the trucks compress and spring load into your feet, making you eat your knees.

    With the carving it looks like it handles halfway between a normal skateboard and a surfskate

      not nearly as tight of turns, but the looser I skate them, they seem to get closer to that surfskate feel. I think there's a limit, and for that reason, I can't wait to get a surf adapter to try with them!

      They do make a street size small shark wheel that isn't as heavy now. Talking gimmicks- this innovation is the best one. I'm glad it's catching on. Can't wait for them to throw flames with flint someday like the GKing ones! haha. I love the andy board i Had and the dragons wheels rule. If gimmicks make skateboarding more fun, more comfy, and more interesting, bring them on!

    I ride my trucks a little on the tight side, would you say these feel loose/med/tight relative to a traditional design? I do think it's funny how skateboarding and guitar players definitely seem to reject technology advancement in the equipment. Maybe it reminds them it's a business and it breaks the counterculture illusion? I would love to set up a maximum gear-kook board with these trucks, a carbon fiber or maybe a Flight deck, and then...maybe Spitfire sapphire wheels? See how that goes over.

    • @JasonParkSucks
      @JasonParkSucks  9 месяцев назад +1

      Yes I completely agree! They felt definitely looser compared to normal trucks, but also I didn’t tighten them at all because it didn’t feel too loose to me and the looseness made the carving more fun. For more street skating I would probably tighten them up for sure!

    • @veritechz
      @veritechz 9 месяцев назад

      @@JasonParkSucks did they feel smooth on that concrete? It was my (extremely limited) experience trying to skate Wallows this summer when we were visiting that the ground there is hella rugged lol. It certainly looked pretty gnarly in the background, but it may have just been local materials looking a bit darker than Florida concrete too.

    • @shred-sensei
      @shred-sensei 9 месяцев назад +1

      These trucks with risers and a large size dragon wheel would be a world of difference at a rough spot like that. Last summer I got to perform at a festival where the skate ramps were set up on super rough rugged pavement and the dragons+suspension was noticeably different in that I worked half as hard for my speed and it felt normal, where my old wheels/trucks felt all the vibrations.@@veritechz

    • @veritechz
      @veritechz 9 месяцев назад

      @@shred-sensei That's good feedback for sure. I went from 54mm formula 4s down to the 52mm Nano Cubics recently, and while the ride is decidedly smoother in a way that's hard to articulate, the diameter change was pretty detrimental to transporting myself on actual roads in the neighborhood on my popsicle (pebbles and rough spots are a lot more significant now). I like that Powell is increasing the diameter on the nano cubics; I recently swapped my 64mm Powell Bombers down to 58mm Formula 4s on my Hosoi Hammerhead to take a bit of weight out of it, but I think I prefer the ride on that dragon formula, and may move to a set of those at some point. I'm really interested in how these trucks feel, I wish there was a way to try them out before plunking down for them.
