If I were going to make a similar video, it would be about 5 comics I regret LENDING to people. I don't sell comics, but damn if I don't regret all the books I lent out and never got back. Great video BJ!
😩you gotta get #2 back!I have 5 kids myself. Memories with them, going to certain places, stores, etc, they’ll remember it. I loved #2 of yours, a sweet story.
I loved James Tyrion’s run on Batman! Clownhunter, Punchline, Miracle Molly, freaking Ghost-maker! So many iconic new characters are with unique traits and designs. Great story. So underrated 🔥
I'm an OG and fanboy of the Marvel Silver age. I've bought, sold and traded over the years and I do have regret over some Silver age books that are no longer with me. Usually I sold/traded some of my multiples as a way of funding other books while trying to spend very little cash. It's been a lot of fun but there are books I should have kept. FF #9, HULK #5, ASM #'s 7, 9, 10 just to name a few. Keep on collecting folks. Best to all.
I’ve had a guy at my LCS tell me the same thing about buying every single ASM 50 when he sees it - after the 3rd time of him doing it at the store I just said screw it and bought it online
Talk about regrets from selling, I gave up on collecting in 2005 and sold my collection of over 2,000 books (including an Uncanny X-Men run from 1 to 350). From the moment I started selling I regretted it to this day. In a weird way it has been enjoyable to start over but having bought 99% of those books off the newstand the price I had to pay to rebuild my collection hurts every time HAH!
First time watching your channel. Good stuff! I dont know if you collect slabs, but you can pick up both of those Punchline keys in a 9.8 for $100 or less. Raws are under $50. Prices have dropped quite a bit. Ive been wondering if James Gunn will introduce her in the future.
The stories about your girls are great. Had me tearing up as I have a 3 year old son and can’t want to experience comics with him as he gets older. Also spent 2 months in the NICU when he was first born, really hit home.
What a great vid and I totally understand, it's so hard to let go of my comics and omnis, but sometimes expenses come up and I have no choice but to sell a book with a heavy heart! 😢
I don't usually regret selling things but I sold some out of print omnis over the summer to buy a couple of cgc books I really wanted and now I'm impatiently waiting for some reprints. Hopefully they'll be announced sooner rather than later. That Jeremy Adams Flash run really is terrific, hope he gets a chance to revisit Wally and the family again. I need to read his Jay Garrick mini that came out recently.
I bought Hulk #181 first printing in 1990 for $10 at my local comic shop. Mint condition and I never opened it. In 1996 I needed money because I was moving. I took 50 of my best comics to a local comic shop. He bought 31 of them, including Incredible Hulk #181. To make matters worse, it was during the comic bust of the mid 90s. I got Pennie’s on my dollar. I have since over the years have required most of them back but #181 is just to expensive to justify the cost. I regret the hell out that sale to this day.
I do like Punchline a lot, but I sold my first appearance issues of her also. I don’t regret that one because I have the collected editions that have the issues now, and I’m good with those. But I understand regretting it. My two regrets in selling are my Transformers run by Dream Wave publishing. I had the full run and sold them. Regretted it so much that I worked to get all the issues back. The other regret is I sold my Edge of Spider-Verse #2 which was the first appearance of Spider-Gwen. Now I did make a lot of money off of it as it sold for over $500 and I only paid cover price when it came out. But I love the character and regret that I sold it.
Out of print omnibus 's are a ridiculous price, they want like $200 to $250 price for an out of print OOP, book 📖 but when it's reprintef a person can get the same book for 40%off.
I'm so attached to all of my books, I will not trade or sale any of my books. Maybe in the future I'll unload them all but for now I'm strictly a collector. I have over 200 slabs and nearly 8,000 raw books, I just started collecting again two years ago
Sell all of the comics you have now and keep the money as your emergency savings. Stop buying comics. Start downloading them for free. Use the money you would have used to buy comics to invest in an S&P 500 stock or something that makes money over the long term.
@@comicsaredope It sounded to me like you sometimes have to sell comics when you have an emergency. If this is the case an emergency savings will solve this issue. As far as having comics, if you download them for free you can read any comics you want.
Storage space got repoed. Would love my Teen Titans, 52, and Nightwing Year 1. Nothing too serious, but I read them soooo many times feels weird not to have them. Got the last trade of USM yesterday, because of your Marvel value video. So thanks for reminding me to ask about it
@@MoramothHauntz Oh ok. I also have some of my collection in a storage unit that I don’t check up on too often, so thats a fear of mine. I hope things are looking up for you 👍🏼
@literallyunderrated You'd hear from them if anything serious happened to the unit. I don't know diddly about proper book storage, though. I'm in a good place. Roof over my head, and some disposable income
I started buying omnibus editions and I now have many so I could sell my vast comic book collection, boxes and boxes of them. Haven’t sold even one comic.
I know you know this, and you basically say this exact thing in the video, but there's nothing that shouldn't be hold off if it's for your kids' health. No book, no piece of original, nothing
I do not think that you should be so hard on yourself. I have always said, "If you are a comic collector you must not suffer Seller's Regret". Just feel happy with the fact that you could get yourself out of bind because you had the book to sell. Besides, over the long run, you will get that book back. It just takes time and money.
If it makes you feel any better.... I bought usagi yojimbo hc vol 1 from you, then sold it last year still sealed for under cover price in a omni group when i needed some cash. It kinda killed my intrest in flipping books tbh
@@sunshinethor420 oh man. I remember selling that one. I was on the fence because it was a gift. But I knew that as long as I kept it, I’d be tempted to pay way too much to complete the hardcover set. I bought the trades instead.
There are a few comics I regret selling and are a few comics i regret not preordering/ buying it because now i can't find a copy or its more expensive than store price.
I looked back over my past 7 years selling on ebay....I could cry, especially when I see how little I got for them. example...X Men 58 CGC 9.4.....$200 !!!!!!

@@comicsaredope A worse collector though...lol
@@comicsaredopehe must’ve been a kid at the time.
I lended a Epic once. I got it back thankfully. But it killed me knowing someone else has my book. He didnt even read it that killed me more
@@spiralstorm616 I would’ve been happier knowing he couldn’t have messed it up. Probably was just showing off to people .
I sold Wolverine by Mark Millar omnibus when I thought I was out of the game-I’ve regretted it ever since

Spider Gwen was not worthy. Regardless of cover, you made the right choice. Only buy the stuff you actually read and like.

An "Omnibus" is NOT A COMIC BOOK.
