Barbara: The muscle guys aren’t included in the deal and for that I’m out
One of the few times I think Kevin definitely had the better offer.
Yup! And with his connections to the wedding industry? Hello most of these rings are WEDDING BANDS… like they made a mistake here. Should have gone Kevin all the way.
He regularly has the better offer.
@@Locutus I agree with all the comments here. It's just that Kevin is scary, lol.
I don't see what they need the $500k for. They already have cheap manufacturing and significant margins, I don't see how the money makes a significant impact. Neither deal looks good for them. $500k loan where they end up paying back $1.5 million to Kevin + 5% equity vs selling 15% equity for $500k. If they are looking to just cash out, Robert's is better. If they just wanted a shark on board to push sales they'd be better off just offering 5% equity for $1.
I think it's just that he is more of a "stereothypical millionaire" guy, he always talks about maths and finances. Many people would rather give away more equity/money to work with someone who says "I see real passion here" than Kevin, who's always just about money.
These people are really smart, they made some really cheap and easily broken rings and found a way to market it.
😂😂😂😂 that's what I was thinking
Yup, and the problem is that it's risk that people stop buying, can be bought for probably $1 elsewhere, and from a business expense advertising should not be what sustains your product. The question is, does the band break over time so you feel you have to buy again or is this something that 1% of people rebuy? If it's less rebuying than the products die.
@@joshlanders They actually have a lifetime warranty, so even if they break, you’re not rebuying unless you want different colors or designs.
Wow, that’s a good point
@@henry2231 good to know!

Don't cry for him, he's already dead
They went in aiming for Robert. Kevin’s is objectively better long-term. They have the margins to afford it: 90-94%. And get to keep several million worth of shares if they blow up.
I’d buy a $40 ring that looks legit

An update on them:
The deal with Robert didn't close but they're still an extremely successful business with annual revenue of 24 million.
I think they made a mistake by not taking Mr. Wonderful's offer because that's his space. They would only give up 5% and they'll gain access to Kevin's resources. They can easily pay off the loan given that they're so profitable. They would have been even more successful. I think. But hey. They're millionaires now, regardless.
They'd be making 50 million easily with Kevin's experience. He can amount a huge value purely of his experience onto the company. Don't get why they didn't take it if they know they'd be making way more now.
They made a huge mistake. I've heard nothing but bad things about working with Robert. This doesn't surprise me at all.
Does Robert ever close any deals with anybody? This is the second time I’ve heart about Roberts unclosed deals
@@alexaebanie5800 he's had a bunch. One is the business he mentioned here (Tipsy Elves) and then there's Buttercloth and Bouqs (which he didn't make an offer on during the show but invested in them years later). But yeah he's had a lot of deals that ended up falling apart.
@@krazytubetv1322 exactly. Kevin's actually one of the most hands on Shark when it comes to promoting his businesses. One deal he made, Boost Oxygen, he even had the other sharks promoting it for him. 😂

@Brandon Are they really an hour long? How can they edit an hour long pitch into mere 10 minutes without it feeling cut at all and the conversations are all feeling natural?
It's edited and cut for TV. They present for like an hour, so he probably gave multiple reasons.
@@weirjwerijrweurhuewhr588 source please??
They probably have to say that for the show. I notice every shark always says “for those reasons im out” no matter what every time
How did they not take Kevin's offer? He was into the product for sure
So was Robert. Kevin offered them a loan in exchange for $2 per product sold UNTIL 1.5 million is paid back to him plus 5% equity of the company. Robert straight up offered him 500,000 for 20% of the company; until they counted and got him to go for 15%. Overall I think Robert's deal was slightly better.
@@garrett7814 kevin's deal was definitely better though, even mark said it.

Quite shocking to realize that there were millions of Americans walking around with missing ring ringers.
It doesn't necessarily mean you lose the whole finger. Fractured, broken or dislocated bones, a squashed ring cutting off circulation, and my personal favorite - degloving. All can be caused by wearing a metal ring. I saw with my own eyes a maintenance man lose the skin off his entire ring finger when his ring got stuck in a piece of machinery he was servicing at one of my old jobs. That lives in my brain rent free now.
You do realize that there are people outside America too right? He's reffering to worldwide data

You can't believe how many cowboy, cowgirl, rancher, farmer friends wear these. They are the best . Know a few cowboys who lost a finger or two when caught in a rope. Great invention
Yeah anybody that works with their hands gets this but I don't think any of the sharks do so...😆
@@isonlynameleft yes, military, machinists, any job with your hands with machinery that can catch a metal ring. Me being a driver/delivery getting my ring caught on the tailgate almost took my finger off. Bent the ring even narrower made even more problems cause then I couldn't remove from finger. Had to cut ring off to sit in a drawer, and keep my finger.
Also really popular amongst athletes. Really nice to not have to take your rings off at the gym lifting weights or rock climbing etc
Agreed, Debbie. That was exactly what I was thinking. I am from a farming community, and there are plenty of missing digits for sure.

This must be the first time ever that Kevin actually made a fair deal!
If you watch more episodes, he actually has made quite a few attractive deals. But for some reason, there's a trend of people not taking them when he makes them.
@@kernelxsanders People probably dont take his offers because they feel like they are not financially stable enough to. Giving away dollars on every unit sold to repay a loan when your business is barely afloat is not ideal. These guys could afford it though.
Their next invention will be shorter shoe laces,so when they're lose you don't step over one and trip yourself to the floor.

They've got those already. The laces end in curly elastic so they stay up and out of the way.
I really like the dynamic of Kevin and Robert that invest in products that even if they're not "in love" with, they can see their value on the market since there are sales accompanying them. You don't have to be crazy about something if you see a long-term benefit of your money going into that business.

Barbara : I've been married for a long time, so I don't need to wear a ring! So that reason I m out...
Barbara being turned on by ripped guys never stops being entertaining. Also, with this, The Comfy, the Tangle Pet, and the pizza oven, this has got to be one of the best episodes of the show, right? I don't know how the needle moves on that but I love it.
This pitch didn't sell me on this whole silicon ring thing, but it definitely gave me anxiety about wearing my current wedding ring.

It’s a marketing move. Scare people so that they would buy your products
Having been a home nurse for many years, I can’t and don’t wear my wedding and engagement ring to work. Shortly after getting married 26 years ago, I had my husband’s name tattooed on my finger. That’s not for everyone, I’m just proving there is a space for this item.
Kevin actually had a good offer this time. He almost never does a royalty that doesn't have a perpetuity attached.

You can always use an o-ring, not that big difference😆
perhaps just don't wear finger jewelry if you're going to be working with your hands?
Mark was weird on this one. Just seems like he didn’t Ike the two guys.
Mark doesn't like anything gimmicky or fear mongering. I wasn't surprised at all by his response.
Little mc is a punk. Haaaaa
I can't believe Robert invested in that project, who buys a silicon ring for over 10$, 5 millions sales that's magic, I don't know hoy they did it, but they are really good to convince people to buy those rings, impressive!
"Im Barbara"- mr. Im Out
I don't know why they didn't play the business card that some industries won't allow employees to wear metal rings. Automotive, industrial mechanics, plumbers (union). No big business wants to pay medical leave with an injury that happens at work everyday and amplified by wedding ring. Use industry standards not to wear wedding ring for your selling point
Agree. If they actually prepared a better presentation than a gimmick perhaps the other sharks wouldn't pass.
Honestly, I got a similar wedding band for my husband for the exact reason these men described.
When my husband and I were dating, he was a mechanic, working with his hands all day.
And it is a real issue in mechanical/hands-on jobs for someone to be seriously injured because of their wedding ring!
Wow… Kevin gets the cold shoulder yet again.
I worked for a company years ago we couldn’t wear metal rings due to if it got caught on anything. This would have been perfect.
Fantastic idea ! I once fell asleep and woke up and my ring wouldn't come off my finger. I tried everything . My friends husband brought a tool and took it off. It was really scary. I think this is a great product guys !!!
Barbra didn’t have to do all that
She’s a freak lol
😂
Sad pathetic old woman. Did I mention sad?

Funny how Barb just criticizes people and gets out every time lol
The problem with Kevin's royalty deals is that it requires immediate and rapid-fire calculations, and I'm most entrepreneurs have their numbers worked out beforehand, and therefore don't want to do extra math!
Love these rings! All different kinds of colors and designs. Super comfy and I’m job doesn’t allow a metal ring but allow these. Feels good to continue wearing it everyday pretty much
Mr. WONDERFUL IS THAT DUDE LOVE HIM ..... EVERYBODY PERSONALITIES FIT SO WELL ON THIS SHOW

I bought these before and they were amazing. I'm ADHD and also play sports and work in an environment where rings are a no go. Not proud of it, but I straight up lost my first engagement ring. It's incredibly practical. Not just spook bait.
Taking on a shark who doesnt even understand the product is nuts!!
The deal didn’t even fall through after the episode also. Kevin was definitely the better option with his wedding background
i love how they used a different ring for the demonstration and not one of their rubber rings
These types of rings are super popular. I see them on people all the time.
I think Kevin would get more deals if he were just a liiiitle bit nicer to people 😅 He's a little rough around the edges and no-nonsense but he's one of my favorite sharks, and he really does make good offers.
I think because none of the sharks work with their hands but coming from somebody that works in the trades, this is a great product.
Had you not heard of them until now though? I thought everyone already knew about these but maybe it’s just that I’m in the fitness world where they’re really popular?

currently, a 20million eval, robert hit a home run with these guys.
They found a way to sell coloured rubber gaskets at a premium price. Genius.
My aunt lost her finger when she was younger, her ring got caught on a fence and ripped her finger off! This would definitely be helpful
Amazing how such minute mundane little problem can make so much money.
10:27 I laughed so loud at "I DON'T UNDERSTAND IT...!" 😂
I love it when Robert dies laughing
When I was about 10, I was on a tire swing at the park and my dad was holding onto the chain that held the tire, pushing me along. His ring got caught and therefore hurt his ring finger really badly. If it had been injured worse apparently the doctor said it may have needed amputation. If he had a ring like this instead, his injury may have been a lot less to begin with. We also traveled abroad a lot. If you look like you have valuable jewelry you're more likely to get robbed. I've also had friends who work a lot with their hands, one who even owned a ring like this, who said they felt a TON safer knowing the ring wouldn't be the cause for injury. Or they at least switch rings when going to work and use their gold one for nice dinners and such. Honestly makes a lot of sense to me!
Mark went out because he's a Groove ring guy. Barbara went out because she's Barbara.
Barba: I would definitely try this at home
When Barbra saw the guys she should’ve immediately said: ok I have an offer for you 😂
One of the rare times Kevin had a good offer.
He often does, but people are more in love with the other sharks specifically Cuban.

I feel like a lot of people take Robert's offers because he seems like the "nice guy" compared to everyone else...
They seem to always want Mark
One thing I learned about having a business is partnering or working with what seems to be a "nice guy" is bad. It's either they're ignorant or they have a hidden agenda. Practical and frank ones are the best.

My ring got stuck on a chain link fence once, and yes it cut me and severely hurt. I’d like an Enso ring.
I am a grown woman and couldn't stop giggling and gasping when the hunk came out XD
This is like going to town in a corolla saying "my ferrari is at home tho"
No, it’s like wearing your silicone ring most of the time for practicality and saving the nice ring for special occasions. You take the Ferrari out on nice weather weekends, you daily drive a more practical car. Pretty simple, really.
@@Restorationshopyt i see what you mean, but at the core a ring is either valuables for its metal, or the meaning it got infused/ attached with. If i get married with a gold ring and then wear a silicone one, the symbolism of the marriage and ring is attached to that specific gold ring itself. You would have to symbolise the silicone ring during the wedding ceremony to make it worth wearing it.
More a joke than a fact but it gets the point across => sauron wouldn't wear a fake ring cause the power is in the one ring, not the substitute.
I think about it. I work with a lot of moving parts and we are told to take off our rings. I've seen a guy get his finger degloved. His finger bone was still there but no skin and little muscles.
