I raced BMX for 7 years, started in my mid thirties, broke a collar bone , I learnt to tuck and roll after that, no more damage since, now 64 yrs young and shred my Whyte e-bike, just gotta ride within your limitations, get back on that bike soon matey 😊
I definitely can't fall properly. The amount of time I reached out to the ground when falling it's a miracle I haven't broken my wrists yet! Crashing in the way you describe it's a difficult skill to master. Everything happens in a split second so fair play to those he can employ tuck and roll! Haha Whytes are the best bikes ever aren't they?😁 Thanks for the healing vibes and taking the time to leave a comment 👍. Cheers.
Ouch, looks like you landed straight on your shoulder. Good to hear that you didn't break any bones. I smacked my shoulder into a pine long at trail speed two years ago and tore some ligaments as well, but that healed up nicely thank goodness. Strength and stretch exercises helped me a lot. Getting hurt in my early 40's made me realize I'm not 20 anymore 😅 With regards to chain slap -- if it's a Shimano derailleur (SLX or XT) then the clutch can be serviced and even tensioned on the XT. If it's a SRAM SX/NX/GX then I believe you'll need a new derailleur to fix it :l I'm not sure if higher SRAM SKU's can be serviced (X01 et.al).
Yeah that's exactly what happened to me. Not sure whether it can really be seen on this footage but when I've gone offline I hit a bank with my front wheel which stopped the bike dead and got my body chucked directly into that bank shoulder first. And the ground is baked atm so it's like concrete. I suffered ligament damage as a result but same as yourself I'm hoping I can get back to full strength in no time. Not wearing my body armour (second time ever I decided to ride without it) was a stupid and costly mistake 🙄. Derailleur wise it's SRAM so it probably can go in the bin🤣.
Thanks. In the end after a couple of x rays it turns out no breaks but I've damaged ligament in my shoulder. They reckon 2 months for it to heal up to full strength.
Healing vibes mate, hope it's not too serious. I'm off the bike myself atm, after an operation on my eye. Horrible that bit where you crashed, had a close call myself there.
Thanks buddy. Yeah it's definitely fair to say I didn't execute the bail very well on this occasion. Getting there slowly but surely. It's been 4 days since the crash. Happy with the progress so far.
It's rodeo there now but I took a completely wrong line to be fair and went way too fast. I could not stop for the life of me. So loose out there at the moment. In the end after a couple of x rays it turns out no breaks but I've damaged ligament in my shoulder. They reckon 2 months for it to heal up to full strength but they are always pessimistic aren't they.
@@BoAndHisBike oh god sounds painful, yea hopefully they have just given you a worse case scenario. Yea sometimes being bone dry is just as sketchy as when it's soaking wet 🤷
My gran has had harder falls walking to the shops 🤣
Good for her. She must be built from steel 😂
ROASTED.
Truly.

Thanks pal and same to you. Won't be going as fast on that again in these conditions and defo won't be leaving my body armour at home next time.
man i would so rather fly into the ferns instead of bailing beside them on the hard track.. looked like it hurt! get mended soon!
