All the best to the people dealing with this hurricane. May you stay safe, healthy and not suffer too much damage.
God speed.
Thank you God Bless
Thx you
Its heartwarming to see a family who actually cared enough to take their pets with them instead of letting them just die in the storm.
I'd really have trouble leaving our furry kids behind. I know that some people think that those who greatly care for their "pets" are crazy, but our furry kids (and feathered kids) are more selfless and give more unconditional love than some humans I've come across in my life.
My hotel is currently filled with pets from all the people evacuating the last few pet friendly hotels who won't charge. I can say the only negative thing right now is the fact that we're understaffed we were not ready to have a full hotel. some people were being really rude when you're trying to be understanding but they are taking out thier frustrations on us 🙄
@@avirei98 don't hate...they're just being Americans
You can buy another dumb dog.
for the past decade i’ve maintained that the simplest step to stopping climate change & the bigger & badder storms with flooding, tornadoes & wind damage/fires/droughts/heatwaves/blizzards is to eliminate the pet industry with its isolated demands on fossil fuel use alone being worse than almost all economies in the world combined. the real choice is either you selfishly have have your stupid cat or dog or that your great grandchild will have a chance to live.
I am hoping that everyone involved is safe and sound.
God bless those people. May they all stay safe🥰
Including atheists, LGBTQI people, Muslims etc. of course.
God Bless the homeless, injured, missing and killed by Ida. Our prayers are with you and families.
God be with them through this storm
The news crews need to get to safety!!
@Ronald Mcdonald always a troglodyte in a Black person’s business
I'm so sorry for those people that fall in the fire 😔😔, hope you're not living around there???
It is senseless to put reporters in the middle of a dangerous situation like this. I don't need news that much.
Girl they the safest ones they have helicopters
All the best to the victims, and those you love who are dealing with this tragic hurricane. May you stay safe, and healthy, and not suffer too much damage. Be well. Protect your loved ones. It’s even more important during the 20 month pandemic. Seek shelter, and be safe while doing so. Words cannot describe what you are going through right now. We can’t even begin to imagine how hard it must be. We don’t have the answers but we hope that you stay safe out of harm’s way as much as possible. It’s something that we hope you can stay safe from. But it’s all in God’s hands. We are keeping you in our prayers. Your in our thoughts during these trying times. Praying for you. God Bless. Protect yourself, and those you love. 🙏
Best of wishes from England xx
Fortunately this wasn't anywhere near as bad as projected.
Prayyyyy😭
My neighbors 2 hours to the west in NYC and N.J. didn't do so well with it. We got a lot of rain and lightning here but that was about it.
It was worse than projected, much worse.
Thank u for sharing this news
I'm so sorry for those people that fall in the fire 😔😔, hope you're not living around there???
This one really scared me. No electricity for 3 weeks. But I'm thankful. So many people lost everything.
Hunkered down during Ida with my sister who was pregnant and due any day. She had the baby a week after IDA. I’m born and raised in Houma and currently live up the rode in Thibodaux and didn’t get much damage to my home. This was the first and last time I’m staying for a hurricane.
Praying for Louisiana
GOD BLESS all reporters so brave to want to be in this stuff✝️
I hope all people are safe, including atheists.
Is the general public allowed to go chase hurricanes like this?

I never understood why news outlets send their reporters to go be in the actual hurricane like... we get it

the news boys are handsome but I clicked here to see the storm.
@J H Honey, I'm a Lesbian, and an old one at that. I just get annoyed at most news casts that have us look at people instead of what the news is about.
Oh my gosh! I hope God have mercy on each and everyone, this is a tragic moment where one is just helpless and persons not able to do anything because it's just nature doing what she does, and not to mention the amount of personal valuables that plenty person will be losing
God created this and all hurricanes, so what are you taking about?
@@eemage9476 so what if he created it! Does that mean he can't have mercy, clearly you've never read the bible, perfect eg, when Jesus Christ and his disciples were on the sea and the storm and came, and the disciples got fearful for their lives to how bad the storm was, did they not call Jesus and he spoke to the storm and it stop? Was it not him that created it that time! If you have nth meaningful or positive then keep your mouth shut, I guess you talk like this because you're not losing anything or anyone and where you are it's nice and sunny and dry!!!
@@rabalaczepol7226 The bible like the Koran, the Tora and many other fiction books, are irrelevant here, it's just a fallacy. Science knows how this hurricane was created and god have nothing to do with it. Nevertheless, I have to agree with you on one thing, keep walking your religious path, since this is the only way to avoid weak people without strong internal will to behave more or less rational, otherwise they may go bananas.
@@eemage9476 God has everything to do with it what are you talking about? Huh?? So you're telling me that this storm just poofed outta nowhere and said surprise Im Here!!!!!

AC is on all day
It made landfall at Port Fourchon and ran up to Houma. There are a few places in between.
Well Houma got the left side. So they did not see the strongest part. Almost though.
Strongest storm to hit the state in 100 years? Did they not go through Katrina
By power and force ida is stronger but Katrina was a mutafucker
I think Camille was the worst in recorded history. BUt there are tree ring data that say the worst ever was 1684.
1. Katrina barely hit the tip of Louisiana
2. Katrina was a Cat 3
3. The only reason people still remember Katrina is the gross incompetence of New Orleans government
GET OUT THERE BRO

The weather men did an awesome job
Houma people hang in there God Bless
Mother Nature is so unforgiving. But then again, she has so much to forgive. Be and stay safe LA. God bless. Stay strong, thank goodness you are alive and well and can rebuild.
😢 Sigh! Prayers up.

"strongest storm in more than 100 years" how come everyone forgets about Laura Last year.
Who's Laura? I must of drank too much that night
If you can stand there and tell the news....seems as if its not so bad!!
What good people taking the Pets with them.. These type of people have all respect

It’s funny how an average hurricane is basically more powerful than the el reno tornado
we still have guys in the saturation chamber on the boat in Houma god bless and be safe.
Just a bit of advice for evacuation - don't just go east or west. If I were still in Houma I would have went to Shrieveport since they are predicting it would turn to the NE. It would have also been a faster drive then going to Houston or where everyone else goes.
What does he mean the worst storm in 100 yrs? Is this worse than Katrina?
Yes technically it is worse than Katrina as far as the actual storm goes. What actually made Katrina as devastating was not necessarily the storm itself but the Levees breaking allowing EXTRA water to get in that otherwise wouldn't have. And what further made Katrina bad was the lack of response and assistance in the Aftermath. But categorically this storm is said to be worse. But as long as the levees hold the Aftermath wont likely be as intense as Katrina.
It has faster moving winds - just 7 mph below category 5. Katrina made landfall as a cat. 3 although she was cat 5 earlier in the Gulf. Katrina was much wider in diameter - but the wind movement is faster with IDA.
He's too young to know...
Best host thank you
I commented on you to start prayer for our people of South Sudan and Africa in general because we are worshipping God under tree but continuing praying for Aic Aweil South Sudan to get preparing for building.

Homa is just fine. Little bit of damage to roof's. Buildings. At least no flooding. And I pray all pets not taken where brought inside the home. Its unimaginable someone would leave a dog in a leash out chained to a three in a hurricane. But they jerk did. I hope animal cruelty charges are properly unforced when that nasty inhumane human returns.
Track it for the authorities.
Fine how? With almost all businesses destroyed. With trees, mostly all power lines, and poles on the streets. The water just got restored, but I’m sure it has to be boiled before using it for anything. Expected date for electricity restoration is Sept 29. 2-3 hr long waits in line for gas to run your generator if you’re lucky enough to have one. Mildewed and moldy rubbish everywhere. Entire apartment complexes giving deposits back and kicking some tenants out with a weeks notice. I’m sorry but you must be walking around blind if what you see is fine
i’m just worried about the homeless and the animals too 😭
Really why
Why not worry about everyone?

I would imagine anyone living in this state already has a plan and a safe spot prepared ahead of time. I live in Vermont and totally prepared for what mother nature throws at us. Common sense.
Not everyone has the money or ability to leave. So think about that in your fancy state.
@@aaronmattox2870 Don't have to leave. There's plenty of ways to build a safe spot. It just takes more brains than southerners have.
phee-yuk yoo good luck building something a cat 4 hurricane won’t damage. 150 mph winds knock down brick houses. You live in Vermont and have probably never been through a hurricane so I wouldn’t expect you to understand.
@@nitegame1478 No hurricanes here. Not stupid enough to live down south but smart enough to build a steel bunker if I needed too. The lack of motivation and intelligence in Louisiana is obvious.
phee-yuk yoo so ignorant and hateful. learn some compassion bro. i hope you never have to live through anything like this because you wouldn’t know the first thing to do.
Omg wishing all these folks the best.
Thank you tho how is life treating you generally gorgeous
Try 15 to 20 feet of high tide and 2 feet of rain
Houma is 57 feet avove sea level...not just "feet".
Who Good keep is well kept
Never stand out in a hurricane, you can be killed from flying debris.
Worst in 100 years btw. But talks about Katrina...
Rita made land fall a few weeks later. Strange facts.
Katrina was a Cat 3
@@ceb2084 Cat 4
@@itzamia from the NHC: Katrina turned to the northwest and then north, with the center making landfall near Buras, Louisiana at 1110 UTC August 29 with maximum winds estimated at 125 mph (Category 3). Continuing northward, the hurricane made a second landfall near the Louisiana/Mississippi border at 1445 UTC with maximum winds estimated at 120 mph (Category 3).
People when will you all learn to stop using cheap housing products and nails to build. Use and build your home out of cement, all the Walls & Roof also install alum storm or accordion shutters and you'll make it fine then top it off with a back up generator above the flood line. its worth the time and money to get piece of mind and survive.

Camille was the worst. Katrina wasn't no baby either. But the Galveston Texas hurricane of 1900 was the winner by far.

Strongest storm to hit Louisiana? Lol I guess everybody forgot about Laura last year
African Ida is good girl. American Ida has turned to storm kicking everyone from their communities.
🌀 My Ida survival story 🌀
Too late to evacuate,
Plus where would we all go?
In a short amount of time,
What was a category 3 changed to a 4.
We tried to be prepared the best way we knew,
But no one could prepared for what we would all actually go through.
Beginning of it we were all okay,
Watching t.v as the winds made the trees sway.
Than Ida became more aggressive,
Winds, rain, picking up speeds reckless.
Power went in out, kids became scared,
Son & youngest daughter, faces filled with tears,
Ceiling light fell, leaving pieces of debris to clean,
Leaving me & dad to take turns mopping up the leaks.
On top of the water from outside that began to creep,
From what had to be from all directions,
In various different sections.
We managed & survived the hurricane,
Thankful we made it to see the next day.
Next day was sunny exposing the damage left,
With enough juice in my battery to text.
We are ok we made it, thank God for his grace,
Other Ida survivors texting back the same,
When will power be on, still left in the dark,
Even as I write this that question still has a question mark ❓
Looting & breakins every man for himself,
Leaving all stores close to home with nothing on their shelves.
Home feeling like a sauna, faces losing weight,
No hot meals, for us to put on our dinner plates.
Its crazy what you begin to miss when its all gone,
Just like you dont how strong you are until you gotta be strong.💪
But strength comes with numbers,
Not gonna lie glad we had one another.
We lit candles and played card games,
Laughing at the funny jokes told, most lame.
After 3 days we finally had a warm meal thanks to pops,
Otherwise it was pb&j, can goods, water & soda pop.
Sis offered us to stay with her in the sunny state,
Offer I had no objective to take.
Gas was scarced, & the ones that had gas,
Lines were so long took 2 hrs to fill our tank.
But no complaints we made it,
Seeing my kids frowns turn to smiles,
Enjoying hot meals we didn't have in awhile.
Watching my 4 year old sleep peacefully,
Instead of her tossing & turning,
No more complaining about how her body was burning.
During the storm she was meditating,
Now she jumping in pool water with no hesitations,
These kids honestly are having, like a mini vacation,
Beyond grateful for my sisters act of kindness,
R.i.p to the lives that were lost, moment of silence 🙏
