As someone that lived through Maria back in 2017 I cant stress how important is for them to just pack and go. Materials are just that materials. Your life is worth more. Louisiana is under sea level it's not a matter if water will rise it's how deep.
Some people have no means to leave; i.e. no car, no immediate family, and home bound ...those are the ones I worry about.
I don't get why people still live in Louisiana at this point it gets hit by a hurricane every year
Maria gave my little island a direct hit. Practically jumping from 3 to 5. Nowhere to run. I wish they understood just being *able* to pack and go is a big privilege that should always be used.
The proper saying is:
Below Sea Level
Not “ Under “
Get it right!!!!
@@sunnyboi2461 People live in Louisiana because that's where they're from, just like any other state in this country. Besides, where would you have us move to? All along the Gulf Coast around Florida and up the East coast all states are susceptible to hurricanes, the Midwest has tornadoes, blizzards, rivers flooding, the middle of the country is tornado alley and even worse than that it's the Bible Belt, the west and northwest have forest fires, droughts, earthquakes and mudslides, the southwest is also drought prone and is very often in triple digits!
The point is there's now where in this country that doesn't have disasters of one kind or another and for me I'd rather have a hurricane that gives you days of advanced warning versus those that have no warning and then just wallop you!
They always show pictures of the French Quarter and Downtown and that's the highest part of the city!
They are also the iconic places also the places most tourists recognize.
Should they go stand where its under water.....🤔?
That's why this news team is there!!!!

This is such a normal occurrence for us in the Caribbean but I can imagine how scary for these folks. Climate change is real but no one listens to under develop countries. Storms are more intense and more frequent than before. A category 4 is bad but not so bad as it moves fast so it will be over with soon. A category 5 that moves slow now that’s a beast. Dominica is still recovering from hurricane Maria and next month is the peak of hurricane season for us here in the Caribbean. My prayers are with you all. God is good
Nope. Do yourself a favor and do more research. Today's technology makes easy to see every storm on the planet. 100 years ago they were still there, but you didnt have a reporter getting pummeled on live TV. Look up Tony Heller, you might learn something else except fear and propaganda

To everyone talking crap about people staying...leaving costs money. To have transportation, gas, food while you are gone, a place to stay, etc. Some people literally do not have the funds to leave, esp being in the midst of a global pandemic while unemployment ends next week, or be elderly and alone, may not have a working car, so many reasons. Here in los angeles all we got for the rainy season was 6 imches in the whole year
Why do people live in these areas when you have the whole United States to live in? I do not understand this insanity. I would never live on the ocean simply because of these hurricanes.
Agreed but there's something everywhere just about. You go too far north and you get blizzards. The earth on the west coast likes to rearrange itself at random times. The midwest had tornados and earthquakes in Indiana of all things. I did not know that before I moved here. I picked a part of Indiana that doesn't generally have a lot of tornados and North of the fault line so hopefully my weather will stay relatively calm but the tradeoff is there's not a lot here.
I wonder too. But heard oftentimes it's financially impossible for them to move. And they have family and friends there, or a family home they are tied to.
How can someone live in the middle of the country, which is tornado alley? The answer is, the middle of the country is dull and boring and sucks
At least in the midwest we have basements?
