So awesome it's coming along so fast. Your edits are really good. I was watching some older videos on your channel. I gotta send you guys some stuff I got a package of goodies for you.
@markcarscadden8421 yeah that's what Jason was going to do initially but decided he was going to use the grinder instead. I think that's how he did it last time on the A-Frames
We are thankful for getting our solar up and running. We did it in steps 1) the batteries and inverter charged with generator 2) solar array. Do not put the solar in the house, inverters are noisy. We went with two EG4 6500s and 24 650W bifacial panels. Powers everything, 220v well pump, two upright freezers etc. If you get a inverter and batteries you can store power until finishing, then run generator at a single set time as you complete,
@TomTammyOffGridHomestead hey guys! Thanks for the comments. I subbed to your channel this morning. Saw you on Little Griffs channel. I will go check out your videos later. Great advice you've got for us! We'll get it all figured out in time. Nice to meet you! 😊 ✌️
Hi Loretta and Jason! Great shirts! Jason is one of our favorite people on You Tube "Two hundred and forty dollars Canadian, about eight dollars American" lol you two crack us up! The bunkie is coming along! Good to see you both! Hope you have a great week!
@@PandJsHomesteadAdventure he is definitely a great guy! We love to support our friends. And we needed new t-shirts. Lol. We are not easy on our clothes! I don't think we will wear his while working again. 😁 Thanks for watching guys! 💕✌️🇨🇦🇺🇲
That's probably a wild cranberry! We just found some on our land, my son squished it and told me it was a cranberry based on the smell. Turns out he was right! Yay for a day of forcasted rain that turned into a cloudy productive day 🎉 Love seeing the progress.

@@AlmostaGreenAcre-zs5eu hi Krista! Magnetawan is a beautiful area. About an hour from our place. Thanks for coming by! Much appreciated ✌️🇨🇦❤️ We took a road trip to the east coast in May and traveled through NB! Gorgeous!
Great to see the windows in & the tin on 👍 so nice to have a dry spot then it didn't even rain lol, Nice to see the family all working together ! Just a wood stove your good to go :)) sleep close until you get the siding on ! Looking good guy's
Good idea installing the headers but considering how small the cabin is, it probably wouldn’t make much of a difference with the snow load. The span is very minimal so installing the headers was probably overkill but better safe than sorry. You guys are rocking it out.
hey guys, great job the headers look great and by the way, I heard that lol😂 nice T-shirts and the windows look great free is the best. Have a good weekend.
“She’s climbing the ladder” 🤣 You guys ever figure out what’s been making that noise? I know you’ve heard something in the last few videos. I’m always loosing my hammer, lol. It’s really starting to take shape, great job! 👍🍁
@MapleRidgeHomestead there have been different noises and I'm really not too sure to be honest! Lol. Lots of wildlife around for sure. Must be why Thor is smarter than us and usually doesn't venture too far from the cottage! Thanks guys! 😁❤️
I am late, as usual which hopefully will STOP happening soon lol. I had to pause to lookup that plant. It looked like a fig to me too. I took a pic of the screen to use my app. According to the app, it is a "Nodding Trillium". It says it's a perennial herb. It's amazing how the hammers always disappear. Tape measures too lol. Whooo hoooo for the roof and windows!
@mattandmouse oh gosh that stinks. I got an email from someone who wants to give us 50% off but I haven't done any research or what's involved yet so I'm waiting it out.
@@lorettaandjasonoffgrid I really want to like it, but so far we’ve used it for about 20 minutes before sending it back (and then being out of stock to replace). 😢
I always thought tar paper was for shingled roof. I have never seen someone install with metal. In fact our 160 year old home has no tar paper and we have no issues. Thanks though, will do some research. Everyone seems to have a different way of doing things. Cheers!
It’s the same as when you take a beer out of the fridge and go outside on a hot day and crack it open and the outside of the can becomes wet if that makes sense lol

@TheOliveBoyzz that's so nice of you! I am trying to figure out an easier way so you don't have to send across the border. It's so expensive.
For cutting the roofing you can turn the circular saw blade around and cut it easier than I grinder I would think.

@hallenw lol I think it was the gas. 😜
You need more studs on the sides of your windows and door also.
@jimgree yeah we weren't completely done with windows and doorway yet. Next week we should get that covered.

You need tarpaper under that metal roofing.
It will sweat when you get heat in there and drip on your ceiling.
And put plastic after insolation

Ya I made the mistake on my shop drips
When it’s cold outside and I heat the shop.
rains down on me.
Roofers put it down under metal roofing
It’s the same as when you take a beer out of the fridge and go outside on a hot day and crack it open and the outside of the can becomes wet if that makes sense lol
We're planning on spray foam insulation so this is a little bit different
You should have made your up right 2×4 studs 16 on center, seeing how you were going to make it two story, to much weight for how many studs you have.
It's only going to be a single story. Just a small cozy space for a small bed and a tv. Thanks for watching!
