About
Hi, I'm Ashwin and I make content on Rolex, Tudor, Omega, Patek, AP, Vacheron, A. Lange and a whole host of other really cool watch brands. I also cover more than just the hype watches, Moser for example.
Often I also cover some aspects of the watch market and its relevancy in the short term. Check out some of my other videos on the channel and see if you resonate with the content. There's plenty.

Roger Dubuis, the avant garde Geneva watch brand, has introduced an effective alternative to the tourbillon, and it’s a world first - a watch movement with four sprung balances. The Roger Dubuis Excalibur Quatuor Silicium. Called the Quatuor and introduced in the company’s Excalibur case, the movement’s balances are paired, two and two, and positioned at 90 degree angles to one another, linked by differentials. Each balance operates at 4 Hz, adding up to 16 oscillations per second. By distributing the effects of gravity across the four balances, these effects are negated, thus resulting in a more consistent timekeeping rate. All the technical detail aside, the movement is quite stunning to behold and the sound of four balances ticking brings to mind a field of locusts (in a good way). Masterpiece and all

Another great video brother and RD deserves more love
Thanks bro 👊
I have a Roger Dubuis chronograph in rose gold with the caliber RD680, exceptional finish and elegant design. but yeah, no one buys them, I 100% understand what you mean.
Thanks for this video. I find these watches to be a lot cooler looking than RM and commend RG for creating bold designs. Even the high end watch brands like AP are starting to delve into more modern designs for their ROO, etc. Great video, looking forward to more of them!
Thanks mate, I appreciate the feedback and your input :)
I like their Excalibur micro rotor skeleton model. Especially in steel on bracelet. Other models are either tacky looking or ugly designed despite the high end movement finishing.
That is one of my favourites! Really want to get hands on with that, excites me more than a Nautilus
@@StandardTime A big-thick-robust-ugly PP Nautilus & PP Aquanaut will look cheap like nothing next to the Roger Dubuis Excalibur micro rotor skeleton model. I never understood why PP designed these 2 ugly models and an exaggerated price.
Dial is way too busy. If they uncluttered the dial, even if they use odd coloring or even standard colors, it would look much better. There is no doubt it's a well designed and well made. I can see a person who is economically well off and not a watch person would get it as a one and done. Even more so if they are going pre owned.
I agree. Dial could’ve been simplified and that would have made it a much more stellar piece. I think the movement, case and integrated strap design was more than sufficient in terms of design complexity. A plain dial would’ve made it a solid option. Still, I do quite appreciate this piece, mainly because of finishing and movement!
They look like knock off/random watches you see on Instagram ads or in mall stores
That’s kinda exactly how I felt until I picked it up!
Interesting brand I’ve never heard about. Thanks for the upload 👍
Thanks Karl!
Normal to non watch enthusiast. Many watch collectors with decades of experience also have not heard of Roger Dubuis. They have a small group of loyal customers and below average retention.
Some of them are terrible but the early ones are superb especially the Homage collection. Even the big terrible designs are incredibly well made with beautiful movments. Good video by the way
I agree, not intentionally comparing them to Hublot but Roger Dubuis make some cool pieces like Hublot but most pieces just does not appeal to consumers. Roger Dubuis makes some of the craziest pieces.
Plenty people collect these
Roger Dubuis = High end Invicta. However, they have the history and know how to produce haute horology. They just need to tone it down, stay away from dated douchebag design, go back to more classic and traditional.
Tastless designs and a logo that looks like something from Wish... Just what I would like from a 100 000 dollar watch :p Most of them makes Richard Mille and Hublot look classy. With that said - the "dials" do look expensive to make, and the craftsmanship is probably nothing to frown at.
I have it !
Solid watch!
not like I have enough money to buy one anyways :(
Maybe in your country of Pakistan no one owns a watch
That's what I thought
I got a sundial
Poor people point to other poor people instead of figuring out why they’re poor, right?
No one buys it because it's ugly as hell.
I dunno, I kinda like it. A lot of people think RM is ugly as hell too!
I love them
