Any idea about the Caliber RD821 service price or easy to work on ? It's seems similar to Rolex 3's Generation, or Old Omega versions based on the jewels count! they use this Caliber in many of their watches ! Is it also entirely in house or based on other brand ?
Terrifically informative and all encompassing video essay about RD brand. I have an Excalibur and been looking for information on the web to learn more about brand. It is not easy to find quality content. You pretty much mentioned all the pertinent aspects i have gathered through my research in 7 eloquent mins. Pls keep it up and hope your channel grows.
Nice discussion. I actually have just purchase a brand new unused La Monegasque in steel with the silver face, full box and papers, RDDBMG0009, from an AD for $17K including 21% VAT. It is a really beautiful piece - I love listening to the micro-rotor do its work and the craftsmanship is superb all around. I am wondering what your opinion on the price I paid is?
That’s a good question, while the movements are well made and the designs are understandable, the parts are going to be expensive and service will be based on servicing a $20,000 and up watch. Even though the prices on the secondary market are a great value, you are still purchasing a very high end and in many cases mechanically complicated watch. Additionally because they are rarer not all watchmakers will feel comfortable working on them and may recommend factory service. Hope this helps! Looks nice but if these are in-house, are they easily worked on, serviced?
