This scene explain everything in the movie. If superman were real, we would portrayed him as a god or jesus. This alone can change human perception about everything. Religion, universe, god. We would be maniac if superman were real. Some will love him and some will hate him. Snyder really push the idea of superman being realistic to the next level.

they're all still hung up on Reeves. I mean, that man was a fantastic Superman, and his movies are bonafide classics, but if you're not going to let a character move beyond a particular interpretation from decades ago, then you're the problem. the so called "fans" are what hold the franchise back. if it weren't for them, the DCEU wouldn't be such a mess right now.
also, there's this irrational hate for Snyder that I still don't get. sure, he's no Nolan, he's no Kubrick. but he does his own thing, and he's a hell of a visualist. yet they treat the man as if he was Michael Bay or something. then when he got removed from Justice League, no one liked what the studio did in order to appeal to the audience.
most people don't even want to watch BvS again because of the theatrical cut, which left out critical scenes. they assume the "extra" footage is inconsequential like, say, Endgame's extra scenes (but I never saw anybody complain about that on their way to the re-release). WB are unparalleled when it comes to shooting themselves in the foot with puzzling decision-making.
excuse the long text, but it just angers me that this particular vision was shat on and maligned for years while other companies get to make the same movie every year and people flock unquestioningly to consume them. there's a silver lining though, without all of this, we probably wouldn't have Joker, or the whole multiverse shtick they're trying to pull now, and the return of Keaton (Batfleck seems to be gone for good though, that sucks). hopefully the Snyder Cut will turn out great in HBO Max.

Yep, the only thing I disagreed with his portrayal in this movie were two things. 1.killing the terrorists guy in the beginning
And 2. The whole,"no one stays good in this world" line(although that one is debtable)

    • @DesignIncase
      @DesignIncase 4 года назад +50

@@yahsworld2940 I don't think he killed the terrorist guy. While he smashed through the wall, he smashed through the wall. The guy was probably fine shielded by Superman. Or else they wouldn't spend the whole film pinning murders on him or struggling to kill one man. The Ultimate Cut expands on this as Superman stopped a drone strike on the complex when he could have just flown in and got Lois.
I think no one stays good is debatable. He says the line but he never tries to actually kill Batman. He tosses him around in a way that Batman won't be killed. His only real angry aggression happens when his strength has been significantly reduced. After that he continues to try and appeal to Bruce's humanity. He says this line but think his idea is no one can be a saint 24/7 but that's alright. Batman's interpretation was more live long enough to see yourself become the villain.

He was polishing the shit hand Warner Bros gave him. Snyder originally wanted to do a solo Batman movie and MOS sequel after MOS was done, but WB put unrealistic expectations on him to catch up to Marvel’s success. This is proof that studio mandation isn’t the way to go. Warner Bros has been doing this to DC movies since the 1989 Batman movie; it’s all a cash grab for them not about creating series of successful movies (Harry Potter being the exception, and honestly they should’ve let Snyder do his thing and trusted in him)

0:11 This is such beautiful imagery. The moment when he's walking towards the mother as he carries her daughter to her. And when he sees the mother's tears of relief, he smiles as he walks among the people and kneels down to hand the girl to her mother.

In Man of Steel, when Jonathan Kent refused to be rescued by his son, that became one of the most misunderstood moments of the movie. But THIS SCENE perfectly demonstrates what Jonathan wanted to protect Clark from. Even after revealing himself to the world (when the time was right, and not before), saving the world, and protecting human lives, the entire world criticizes his actions, debates his very existence, and generally distrust him. It's like having the weight of the world on his shoulders, and to think this almost happened to him when he was 19? He can barely handle it now! If he had revealed himself prematurely, there's no doubt he would have buckled under that much pressure. This just goes to show that Jonathan was right to want to protect Clark as much as possible. The world wasn't ready, and neither was Clark.

Zack Snyder’s craft is under appreciated. The imagery in this section is perfect. The messianic shot in Mexico is obvious, but the rest? Oh my god. Superman pulling a ship as if he’s carrying a burden, but he’s actually saving the people stranded on top that survived the sink of their ship. Superman rescuing the astronauts from the explosion of their rocket, and he lands as if he’s struggling with the weight of the rocket, but he’s actually being careful not to hurt the people inside. Superman about to rescue flood survivors while the senator and journalist are talking about how if they don’t let him act, innocent people will die. Zack Snyder’s films have always been about imagery, but most people don’t care for imagery in movies. Those of us that do, we understand and appreciate this movie a whole lot.

BvS wasn’t perfect but I tell you what, Zack Snyder’s visual style is perfect for Superman. He captures the essence of the artwork of Alex Ross and Jim Lee, who I feel drew Superman the best. It's a key shot in this movie. A lot of critics would look at this shot and say "why is he just floating there, do something! This is all style and no substance" and they miss the whole point in that shot. It's not just to look pretty. I see it as a shot symbolising how so many people in the movie see Superman as a god. Despite Clark just being a guy trying to do the right thing (like Vikram says in this clip) people look at him as a messianic figure and savior.
Compare it to the shot later in the film when Clark goes to meet Bruce right before their fight. Superman appears in the sky covered in rain, there's thunder behind him. Batman is in the same position as the women except unlike her, he's not reaching out to Superman. This shot juxtaposes with the shot in this scene to show the other side of Supermans public perception. How half of the world, like Batman, see him as a threat.

This was certainly one of my favorite scenes of the BvS movie. Superman was portrayed as an actual God which he most definitely is. The divine nature was always an essential element to the Superman character.

It's actually the opposite it's trying to say he is not a god, he is someone who is just helping and saving everyone because it's the right thing to do.

@@mohithbunny I think he's saying the perception of Superman was as a god. A being who could do those things and saved so many would quickly become thought of as a god. And that doesn't mean there aren't those who will despise him for it (Luthor.)

Such a powerful scene with the woman raising her hand to Superman and the Sun shining behind him, like an angel coming down from the heavens to save her.

Sean Needham ur clearly below the age of 15. That was just imagery and for cinematic purposes. Showing the audience what a god would look like

@Adam Sandler Drip You know what would've been better imagery for a superhero movie?
Him saving them rather being in the sky and a victim begging for him

The shit Superman gets, I just wonder out loud- when will there be a superhero that'll look those people straight in the eye and say "OK fine. The next time there's a major disaster; a mad scientist unleashes some unholy creation like a genetic freak or robot army, an alien invasion begins like the one I stopped, when you guys need someone to save you, remember these simple words- DON'T COME TO ME!!!!!"

Haters: Zack Snyder made Superman into a Jesus allegory.
BvS: The fact is maybe he's not a Jesus or a devil character; maybe he's just a guy trying to do the right thing.
