I loved your story. I have experienced much the same..except you were my book and my teacher. I did some journaling and some meditation and still do a little meditation if I need help relaxing. But my magic..is that I remind myself..”Everything is ok.” My past was ok (even though I suffered a lot) and my future will be ok. “Everything is ok.” It makes me feel that all is Right with me and the world. And the pain and symptoms Ease. I get sidetracked sometimes..but this never fails me.

Thank you for sharing your story of TMS. Repetition of safety messages and feeling emotions is the key and takes time to get my nervous system to calm down and not react in fear anytime a new symptom appears. This is the hardest part for me. The freaking out part. I am a person who gives up too easily if nothing gets better. Your story makes me realize that it takes time especially if I have been living my life this way most of my life.

Thanks matey! You have been my constant companion these past few days after finding you on RUclips. I’ve been having daily migraines and you give me hope. Is taking medication sitting on the fence, God I hope not. Like you I have been doing this kind of work for ages and slowly my mind is settling down I just feel like I’m on the last stretch. It’s like groping around in the dark trying this and that and hoping like hell at some stage I’ll stumble on the right combination of things to do to get well. Like a blind man poking around with his stick trying to find his way. Anyway thanks for your videos they are hoping to shine a light in which direction I should go

Thank you for sharing your story. I love your videos. 🙏🏼🌸 I’ve had a chronic on and off pain pattern for 9 years after an injury which ended my ballet dancing career. The doctors diagnosed me with several names such as ‘Scoliosis’, Sciatica’, ‘Sacroiliac joint dysfunction’ and ‘Piriformis Syndrome’ and that I will never get completely better etc. but I didn’t believe that because I know our body has the capacity to heal!
After months of physical therapy and rehabilitation my injury healed - however I kept having ‘relapses’ for 6-8 weeks twice a year. I worked with many healers, therapists and practitioners from conventional to holistic methods as well as seeking on a spiritual path to ‘heal’ and find the root cause of these relapses. I gradually started to see a pattern with my triggers and realized it was various subconscious programs running linked to fear, anxiety, survival and lack of safety. I then studied and experimented further and certified in various holistic modalities to ‘work’ with my subconscious, emotions, nervous system and energy field and have been successful!
I can confirm that this process you mention about ‘what am I feeling and thinking’ works. I’ve been doing this for quite some time even before I knew about Sarno’s books. Now if I ever get a twinge after weeks, months or years of no pain I immediately scan through:
    • What thoughts and emotions am I feeling?
    • What happened yesterday, today etc.?
I don’t journal at all as that gets me in my head and thinking space. I stay in the body, breath and FEEL as thats what works for me. I then use one of the methods I learned to release the emotional charge from my body and rewire my subconscious. After an hour or a few hours it disappears again. 😊
Thank you for sharing your experiences and message to the world! 🙏🏼💜

Also another important thing is what you say that is amazing is how much fun can I have today? That is a great question to emphasize once the daily reminders and emotional discovery is done for the day but also a rephrasing of that which has helped me a lot more is, what would I do if I was pain free right now today? And then proceed throughout the day as if you weren't in pain and live your life.

I listen to this video every day to remind myself to stop trying to fix myself 😂it’s an ongoing battle and my pains will flare soon as I find myself reaching for a foam roller or saying “let me just do this one exercise or that one to help my hips stay aligned or help my knees or ankles etc…” this video slaps me back into reality because I have a lot of conditioned responses as well as being medicalized and this video was what really helped me! It really is the one that puts the doubtful thoughts to rest and if I have to listen to it every day until I can stop with the automatic “fixing” my body habit then so be it😂 it’s just such a deep subconscious habit from all the years of PT I did so it is gonna take a while to break that but I always feel totally fine the minute I watch this and remember that i don’t need to fix anything 😂

One of the worst things that happened to me was being told by a nurse after a back X' Ray - "Oh you poor thing" when she told me I had some Osteo Arthritis in my spine. The damage and angst she did saying those words to me. Now I am telling myself - just started like 2 days ago - it is normal to have 'wear and tear' on your spine at 5O years old ! And I am no longer buying into the possibility that that is what is causing the pain. This thinking is my only hope of recovery at this point.

    • @PainFreeYou
      @PainFreeYou  Год назад

Dr Sarno said decades ago, those are NORMAL abnormalities and NOT the cause of the pain. It's like the gray hair of the spine. But it doesn't cause pain. You are on the right path now.

@@PainFreeYou I’m sure you know that but you’re help is likely more than you’re aware of. I feel sometimes that recovery from PDP (love your acronym) for me has been due equally in part to my own rebelliousness at not accepting what ‘they’ (I guess ‘they’ is sheeplike mentality of the general population, encouraged by Govt’s and pharmaceuticals, for control and for monetary gain, at the top of the chains) … also education, which is what you’re doing here, (ordained I’m sure to do this special work).
Dan, you are giving back people the power that was taken from them by authorities.
Empowering those, who don’t want to be sheeplike.
And very importantly, I’m speaking personally here, in this digital age, though we are all more and broader connected, it has taken away real human interaction, which has isolated many people.
The mere witness of your own story, others testimonies as well as making very valuable videos to compile your own precious wisdom from experience, for us, yourself showing your vulnerability and humanness makes others know they’re not alone in this and that if you/others testimonies can overcome this brain problem, so can they, because it’s basic neuroscience really, 🧠💫 not yet taught in our universities, maybe never will because people might discover they’ve been duped.
Feeling part of a community in this way is what is helping ME too to correct my own over-reactive brain, thickening the ‘I am well’ ‘I was never broken’ neurons. More self awareness, love, compassion yada yada. ❤️❤️❤️
I can’t commend you enough Dan. Love what you’re doing. ❤️
Had I not had my own work to pursue with my music I’d probably be doing what you’re doing here. Although here in Australia, it’s like being spiritual… you’re sometimes looked upon as though you have two heads. 😆

The issue may not be the anger itself, but more that the brain perceives anger to be dangerous. My current concepts surround feeling our emotions so that the brain can learn that ALL emotions are safe and thereby don't need us to be protected from them. (Sarno's distraction theory)

I am literally going through the same (first fase) of having recurring excruciating back pains, weakness and stiffness in the legs which makes me so anxious all the time. There are other chronic symptoms but especially the back pain and the legs are the worst triggers for anxiety. Unwillingly, even though I know everything is TMS. So did I understand correctly that moving around (i.e walking) despite the pain and weakness is key to make the brain understand that you are not in danger? I keep talking to myself but I don’t know how to get rid of the fear because somehow my brain doesn’t believe that. I would really appreciate a little guidance because sitting on the couch all day is really depressing and increases my anxiety.
