And just like that, this song reached my soul and comforted me in what I say was most difficult time of my life. If I ever get to meet Joe, I know what 10 words I would say to him, and to dad- you know what 10 words I would say to you. Til we meet again.

My eyes sparkled with happiness as I showed off my catch to my mother! All Christmas Eve with the Christmas gifts that opened with twinkling eyes and fellowship with my family. My first bike when I learned to ride it. I feel my father's strong arms as support when I sway forward on the pawed road. My first day of school when my mother followed me! Little I just screamed crying "mom I do not want to be here" My youth with all the happiness it brought. All the girls I fell in love with. All the love that resulted in solid relationships! Farewell in love with crying and despair. The love of my life where our children came into the world! The happiest moment of my life! And now I'm Grandpa looking at my grandchildren with same eyes of joy that once saw my own children! Joe Satriani's "Ten Words" evokes all these memories of my life!
Joe Satriani is an extremely underrated guitarist. Most speak of him as just a very good guitarist and when it comes to comparing him with Vai, Govan, Petrucci or even Buckethead, he is always selected as the lesser qualified one. The truth is, none of the above guitarists have Satch's combination of melody, technique and speed. Hendrix is his inspiration, but he has gone wayyyy past Hendrix and is surely one of the most complete guitarists ever.

No, I'm disagree, he is not underrated , he is correctly rated. Just the best people can really appreciate the beauty in his songs , so then just the correct people give thumbs up. The other ones are just .... different and they are losing a great music sound .

Joe really speaks by his guitar here. Everybody plays really good nowadays, but what makes Joe Satriani different, especially in this song, is that he really touches the heart of the listener. He could play a thousand notes, but he really "supports" the song. Great playing, great soul.
I have listened to a TON of music in multiple genres, and this is my favorite instrumental of all times. At one of his guitar clinics, Joe said he wrote this piece in the wake of 9/11. May God bless Joe Satriani for his incredible talent.
Sometimes I think I am the only one who feels the way you folks do about Joes playing. Reading all the comments is awesome. I heard it when it first came out and still feel the same about it. I agree with others and say it all the time...there is not a guitarist alive or whom I've ever heard in any type of music who can write melody and play the right notes instead of just too many notes to support the song. I had brief chat's with Joe at one of the G4 clinics. Very humble, articulate and kind individual.
Shredding and technique and all that is one thing, but knowing how to write music like this in which you feel like flying is another thing. This is what separates Joe from other musicians. He can make a 3 lick song that you simply can't stop listening to. Hats down, Master Joe.

Joe is an absolute melody master! His expressions and phrasing are mystical, what we guitarists call feeling it. I don't even have to watch him, his playing sinks into your bones so deep it goes far beyond the musical hook. I find myself drawn back here day after day.
Which he stole from Argentinian band Egnatious Verdez . The case was dismissed . That melody was in many recordings . You tube showed that . Good try Satch but you are going to have to come up with your own hit songs .

When it comes to playing with technicality or speed, he nails it to the core, his lightning fast and jaw breaking legatos with the best use of squealing or dive bomb are just next level but he never looses touch to melody like most robotic players these days. And when it comes to playing heartbreaking solos that just goes with the flows ND takes you to a different zone, no one seems to stand close to him. His music will always be new and fresh to People of all generations. He is the best mentor and the best example of what a guitar playing is all about. God will always be god

Most people realize that his technical talent is great, but I think his songwriting ability is insultingly underrated. Joe absolutely excels when he plays love songs. Ten Words, Love Thing, The Crush of Love, A Love Eternal, Crying, Always with me Always with you, Memories, Rubina, The Meaning of Love... I'm pretty sure there are other less known ones, but yeah, the emotion in all those compositions is just a wonderful thing.
