+Lawrence Luo i see no difference in this guy buying ridiculously expensive knifes for defense situations? if he needed a knife for utility a $20 would be fine
i started loving knives when i was 14, starting with a paramilitary 2 (that i still have and use), kershaw skyline and benchmade griptillian. ive now gone away from buying knives at age 17 and have begun making them for myself. knifemaking is definetely a passion, very rewarding
I'm 41 years old and I've just bought a 2000$ Bodega. I think the amount of money you are willing to spend on a knife is very much a floating target. It can go up and it can go down. It all depends on your current degree of knife interest and how much money you have to spend. A while ago I never thought I would spend as much as 500$ on a knife. Now I own four knives worth more than 800$. One more "problem" is that when you get this expensive knife you will reassess your limit. I mean "if I spent 2000$ on this knife then I can spend just 500$ more on this other knife." I have to say though that in order to buy this 2000$ knife I sold off almost half of my collection of cheaper knives. So the value was already in my collection. Great video and awesome knife by the way. Have a nice day and greatings from Sweden to all knife lovers!
I get the feeling when he talking about the guy who owns 100k worth of knives and owns a muscle car. Sounds like he's talking about Jim Skelton who's another great RUclips I watch.
i'm 18 and my most expensive knife is my S&W M9 Bayonet $90 i believe. its a huge fixed blade honestly never even used it but its one of my favorite blades haha
I am 21. I have around 1500$ in knives, maybe a little less, maybe a little more, some of the more expensive ones I have are vintage, nowhere to be found on the internet, not even a picture or mention so it's hard to say. Have other weapons/tools. My most expensive knife (that I know the price of) Is probably the Buck Marksman tanto stonewash version. It satisfies the 'high end' feel for me, because it is probably the smoothest action ever made on a knife, absolutely zero resistance while opening or closing due to the very weird design, and because of that satisfies the 'crazy new inventive design' ' gimmicky sorta appetite for me as well. It's also very tactical looking, a pretty nice knife for any of those three purposes. Also just got a Case Kickstart Trapperlock, about the same price.
I'm 17, the most I've spent on a knife thus far was ~$130 on my Manix 2. Most I could ever really see myself consider spending is probably the $300-$500 range. That's mostly due to having other hobbies (primarily keeping animals) that are costly and interest me more.
Im 38, but have only been into folding knives for about a year. Probably bought about 20 folders so far. (A few as gifts) Most expensive knife is the Blurple Manix 2 at ~$140. There are some nice knives in the $180-220 range I might like to check out someday. I think beyond that you are mostly paying for a piece of art. I have nothing against that, but it's not where >I< am with knives, at least not yet.
In my early 30s, not sure how many knives I got, but definitely over 50. Never had a knife that is over US$60, will never consider a US$150 knife no matter how good it is. I love knife, but I have better and more important place to put my money on, etc saving, family.
Yeah no need to spend that much. maybe if you use it daily like a chef will then yeah but for that price to much. I know alot of sushi place that needs good knife but it's for good use not just to sit there and not use
Enzorox but why have 50 lesser knives when you could have 6 or 7 amazing Knives? the fact that you won't buy a knife over 150 bucks doesn't mean that you are spending less money. it means you put your money into many cheap knives instead of getting a few good ones
Aiden Aguirre quite honestly after you get to a certain price range the cost is way to high for very little extra quality for me I'd say around 200 is the most I'd pay for a knife
My most expensive knife is worth around $10,000. Possibly more. I am really into it. If I had 100 grand i'd buy a zipper blade Michael walker bladelock.
squadleaderjoey I have a full Damascus frank fischer battle. Completely screwless/hidden hardware. Fileworked backspacer. Hidden lock relief and stop pin. It's the only completely hidden hardware knife made by him. You can actually check it out on my channel. I posted a little video of me flipping it
James Abel Hahaha. I carry it on a fancier date if it is my and my girl's anniversary dinner or something i'll take it out then. I think she had a string on her shirt so I whipped that out to cut it off. Probably one of the only things that knife has ever cut. It's mostly a show piece or for special occasions
I'm in my mid 20s and in grad school currently. My most expensive knife is my Hinderer 3.5 inch XM-18 Fatty edition spanto. It's took several months to track one down, cost approx. $450, and it's my current EDC. Man I love the knife.
As far as how much I would ever spend on a knife... I have no idea. I guess it depends on how successful I am in the future (and how much I like the knife, how potentially collectable it is, etc.). I buy and sell collectables that I find at auctions on the side (which is how I support my collecting of all sorts of things).
+Markov Algeroth only because you are 19, and you should know better, I'm going to call bullsh*t. Tungsten carbide? The only thing you do with that material would be making drill bits, and knife sharpeners. And they rarely cost that much unless you're looking in to oilfield bits. If you're telling the truth, post a brand and model.
I should know better? You should know better than to not do research before you start openly calling someone out. Punk knifenews.com/sandrin-tungsten-carbide-knives/ Ass sandrinknives.com/ Bitch sandrinknives.com/explorer.html
+Markov Algeroth I stand corrected, but that also brings up another question. What kind of person wants a knife that ugly, and the brittle? I mean, of course you know, the higher the hrc, the more brittle it becomes. Just sounds like a very expensive gimic, and they found a few suckers like you.
For it being ugly, that's completely opinion based. You think this knife is ugly? That's your opinion. I think tanto knives are ugly. That's my opinion. How ugly you think it is doesn't matter. For it being brittle, yes. It is brittle. But brittleness is not the only relevant property. The tungsten carbide / cobalt alloy used is also really damn durable, meaning you're going to have to cut something with more power than a human being can muster. On the Sandrin site it states that the TC they use has a Rockwell Hardness of 71, whereas standard TC is normally 75-82, so the knife isn't going to be as brittle as drill-bit grade TC anyway. It'll break or chip of you abuse it by bashing it or prying with it, but that is the same as with any other knife that is hard enough to hold a decent edge for a while. sandrinknives.com/faq.html Don't call me a sucker until you actually R E S E A R C H what you're tying to sound smart about.
+The Power Of Red my most expensive knife is like 14 bucks or something, and comes with a free game. Never had enough money to buy an actual knife like a balisong or a karambit...
Hi Jeff how's it goin? I'm 28 years old and also am huge into knives and glad to have come across your channel!! My most expensive knife is my DART-XT gambit style folder with the tanto blade, made by my favorite martial artist Doug marcaida. I spent almost 200 dollars for it but I thought it was worth the money without question. Thank you again for what you do and hope to see more knives and battlboxes in the futire!!
You're definitely right about it being regular people buying these knives. I haven't personally gotten to that level yet, but an uncle of mine dropped $2,300 on a knife, and he's just a regular working class guy. But I'm 22, and so far the most expensive knife I have is a WE Double Helix, and it's a $285 knife. But, I would be willing to go up into the $400-$500 range. That may change later on, but right now, that would be my top.
I thought so too. Maybe that's why alot of them are willing to spend so much on knife. I never had a knife over US$100. Will never consider a knife over US$150. Had better place to put my money on.
Enzorox Well, that's your choice. Though I'm sure tweens may have the desire to own nice things, I don't think they have as much disposable income as adults. But when it comes down to it, you buy what you want and if it makes you happy, it's worth it. I'm sure you've spent more than $150 on things that I never would, and there's nothing wrong with that.
You'd be surprised at least for me I just turned 18 yesterday, but most of my teen income just went to junk, I paid insurance and my phone and gas money, I mean my first job when I was 16 my third paycheck I bought a AKC registered Labrador just because
Bryan Devereaux Yeah, that's pretty much how it goes. No surprise there. haha... I'm just talking about the fact that the "average" teen isn't likely to have as much disposable income as an established adult. Doesn't mean you couldn't save then splurge on an expensive knife (or whatever) though. Just probably not thousands worth of knives etc, like collectors you see on youtube.
Man I used to hate knives. I always thought why own a knife when you can own a gun. I couldnt imagine spending 20$ on a knife. But after I got my hand on a good one I went crazy. My most expensive is a gold series Benchmade about 650. I got a couple Medfords and a bunch of benchmades, Spyderco's and spent about 9000 on different knives.
That's what i was thinking until he said something about his passion for knives. I think Jim loves knives more than most, I mean you gotta have a passion for something if you're gonna make videos on it.
I'm 38 and my most expensive knife is mt EDC CKRT M16 with carbon fiber scales, and I found the knife I have always wanted, a Gerber Applegate/Fairbairn combat folder.Never thought I'd get one but several years ago found one in like new condition for only $5 at a yard sale, the woman selling it said it was her son-in-law who wasin the Navy and him and her daughter were moving to CA. Only thing is the sheath is missing but the knife is just as sound as the day it was made.
I'm 50 and the most expensive knife I currently own is a Benchmade. It's a griptilian and I'm very happy with it which is making me want to try out some more expensive knives because $50 was my limit before. The most I think I could go now is around $200 and not lose any sleep! Great video by the way.
I'm 19, paying for a car atm... so that limits my knife purchases by a ton, my most expensive knife is around $120 and it's just a nice and simple EDC carry Spyderco Sage 1 finally purchased a few months ago and love it, only after wanting it for 4+ years after seeing your review
19. I have a benchmade Bugout that was 140$(paid a little much for it because it is a first production and only 1 store I found had them in stock still) and also and a Zero Tolerance 0450 titanium for 160. Will be getting a PM2 and a 940 by the end of summer! Also have a couple custom Ontario rats
19yo, ZT 0562cf , I sold one of my rifles and put some money with it to buy it. I kept being told I would regret selling my rifle , but I've had this guy for a couple months and it still amazes me every time I pull it from my pocket. Now I'm looking into getting an XM-18 Ideally a slicer grind or Wharnie.
I’m in my mid 50’s and I have maybe 10 or so knifes. The most expensive knife I own is about $100.00 I like knifes but I’m not spending a ton of money on them. I EDC a CRKT Eros with the IKBS bearing system. It flips out with great speed and holds a nice edge. I also carry a neck knife as an EDC under my shirt and I wear a t shirt everyday, so the neck knife is very comfortable and don’t rub up against my bear skin. The neck knife is great for opening boxes at work, then I don’t have to dull my EDC CRKT opening boxes. I’m also a big Spyderco fan, they can run a bit over the $100 dollar range but are well worth it!
My priciest knife currently is my Benchmade 87. If you ever wanted to do a review on that knife, I would be more than happy to let you borrow mine for a while, it is a first production run and everything.
21 years old, college student. My most expensive knife currently is a Bear & Son Kodiak Series Barlow (About $45-50). I did have a Cold Steel Code 4 (About $65-75), and I loved it. Unfortunately I lost it last Thanksgiving. Dream knife: Protech Godson with (Mastodon Tooth scales and Gold inlays) or a Cold Steel Pendleton Custom Classic.
Totally agree Jeff I’m 46 my most expensive knife is a bravo 1LT £250 and the most expensive I’d go is about £750 now I’ve started working on my own designs with a guy who makes them for me I have 2 designs now the JSR nessmuk a 5” O1 scandi and the JSE A 3.5” nessmuk in O1 with a finger choil for camp utility
I'm 45. I won a Reeve Sebenza in a raffle at a county fair. I love it. The rest of my knives are £50 to £100 ( about $60 to $120 I think ). The Reeve is my favourite though. 😀
27 Right now an XM 18 bowie or the large sebenza insingo about 400 USD each. I ended up settling in the 400-500 USD price point for what I'd buy and carry. I've had a couple more expensive knives, but I never ended up carrying them. Around the price of a large sebenza is where I'm most comfortable with. But to each their own, that is a gorgeous blade!
I'm currently 24. the most expensive knife I have owned is my CS Espada XL. The SRP is around $270-290. I also own a KA-BAR Zombro ~$130. Bought two CS Spartans, retail for $80. Leatherman MUT $140. also have three Gerber multitools that range from $35-$70. I think come tax time I'm going to get a BRS Replicant which is currently $270. Always get what you pay for. Plus all the knives I find cool happen to be expensive.
I had a cold steel for about a decade before it broke. A friend made me a custom knife then (a few years ago) and I bought a Sebenza 21 small micarta inlay today. I went in for something else but really liked this.
a bit over 19, currently in uni, my best and most expensive knife is a custom elmax/titanium/anodized metal (either titanium or alu) linerlock which although might sound cheap for a custom at $170 , is absolutely amazing for my own taste. beyond that, i really only own a few collectible-esque knives as i heavily favour functionality and practicality in my collection and edc.
27 y/o, current most expensive knife is $160 (Cold Steel Spartan), the most I would ever spend on a single knife is probably around $200~400 for a EDC-model and around $400~600 for a large fancy collectible. Beyond that price point, imho, the knife effectively loses it's functional purpose as a tool. It becomes simply too expensive to ever use, even in theory.
I'm 15, and have been collecting knives for about 2 years. My most expensive knive is a Emerson cqc, which was about $180. The most I would spend on a knife is about 1.5K. My dream balisong is the BRS Replicant, but knifewise, the spyderco native 5 in maximet steel. I know it costs less than the Replicant, but I like it. Also, I'm a total mush for tanto blade style knives.
18, recent high school graduate. Most I've ever spent on a knife was $25 for a Victorinox Hiker. I'm not necessarily frugal, but that and my Mora Companion and I'm good to go. Most I would spend is $80 or $90 (I'm looking at the Ontario Rat 7, so tempted). I was gifted a Buck 110, and a really nice William Henry folder, though. I know Buck 110's go for about $40, but this one's beyond price, very sentimental. The William Henry I refuse to look up the price for out of respect (it was a gift, after all), but I know they're up there.
I own 7 knives. My most expensive one I just got in the mail today was a bit over 50 bucks including shipping. The knife is a classic Buck folding hunter. It is my best knife in terms of performance and my favorite overall. Not a knife I am gonna use for EDC but I will take it out here and there in my house, and I am not taking anything away from my other knives, its just some are more to please the eyes and others are strong in performance. For EDC I use a leather man multi tool which obviously has a knife on it.
Well I'll be 60 years old in June. My most expensive knife is a Benchmade - I don't remember the model number but it's a beauty. It costs $153. It's got really a nice blade - CPM-154, G10 scales, etc. I recently purchased the Kershaw Launch 2 automatic because they recently made automatics legal in TN. I got a good deal on it at Smoky Mountain Knife Works for $80😀
I’m 25 and I’ve been watching you since I was 17 you literally got me into Balisongs and the most expensive knife I currently own I just purchased a week ago, I purchased it from Arizona Custom Knives for $1,395 it’s a Marfione Custom Tachyon 3 Apocalyptic Finished Channeled Titanium Handles with a DLC Coated hand Rub Satin Finish
19 : Most expensive knife is a Tidioute Cutlery (GEC) Ben Hogan, Red River Acrylic. Beautiful knife, it's very hard for me to drop a lot of money but she was on sale and I could just say no. $65 later and i'm not regretting a single penny
Im on dissability and the pocket knife which I got to EDC in the UK was a considered purchase a Viper Dan 2 I am just waiting for it to arrive. It may only be £128.95 but it was still a long time saving. I am 43 amd yes I have looked at more expensive knives but most of them I cant legally carry and although I have knives I collect I prefer to be able to carry them as a cutting tool at least once
Nice vid dude. I'm 26, retired Marine, always loved gear and military stuff. I've got 3 blades, my most expensive is my Spyderco Mamba: $350-$550 depending on where you get it.
Great topic Jeff, 17 Male turning 18 in december. i own a 100 dollar Blk Kershaw blurr 1/2 serrated. I currently own 10 knives around that price range and then i have the Shtf Bag that i value at 500 bucks with all sorts of goodies. To buy this knife would take me weeks. Yes if thats what i was into i would buckle down and purchase but currently i just want an endura XD.
This guy is brilliant. He got all of you to comment on how much you're willing to spend on a high-end knife, some $500-1000+. Now he can shop his channel to the highest cutlery sponsorship bidders. Well played sir.
I am 17, my most expensive knife is a Gerber that cost me 15 bucks. I had a JAFROTC field trip and during it we ate at a small mini mall at Robbins Air force base, everything was tax free, and me and my mom had just 16 dollars left after a shopping spree and eating. I always buy a knife and spoon whereever I go on a field trip, I sadly couldnt find a spoon. So my mom made it up to me and surprised me with it. Its just a cheap Gerber and I have aspirations to get better more expensive knives. But this one is my favorite that I will never get rid of.
I'm 40 and my edc is a benchmade 940-2 modified with titanium blue anodized screws. I do collect folding knives along with rare or unique material zippos. My most expensive hobby is collecting pinball machines. however my knives are one of my favourites to collect! My cheapest is a spyderco tenacious and on the higher end is a few benchmade gold class and spyderco sprint run knives.. with a good mix in the middle range (my most recent is a stryker damasteel gold class) my dream knife would be the next one I fall in love with regardless of price... since I collect for myself and not to flip or re-sell.
... as for the apparent younger audience then me... I started the same way. buy first what you can afford and is functional to you then keep investing if you are into it. and do your research... and most importantly try one out first hand in a shop before buying! you'd be surprised if you are new to knife collecting the differences between seeing one with dimensions online compared to it feeling different in the hand in person. .... but you guys and gals are savvy! ... probably not telling anything you don't already know
I'm 21, have around a dozen knives. Most expensive folding knife is a Centofante III for around $60, but my most expensive chefs knife is a Shun Kiritsuke Classic for about $105
I'm 19 I have about 27 knives in my collection most are quite cheap under $30 i've tried my work at making my own a few times but there not perfect. I do own a Benchmade Model 62 Balisong that i bought direct off their website for $375, about 1 year ago. That's one gorgeous knife you have right there though.
i actually talked to a coworker who is an 18 year old girl about expensive knives because i carry a custom benchmade 62, benchmade 51-1801, and a benchmade nestucca with a custom leather sheath. after getting into super steels and titanium vs chinesiums her opinion changed from thinking $50 was too much for a nice knife to her considering saving up $100 for a self defence knife and understanding why id be willing to spend $1000 on a balisong made by the right maker without a second thought and even loving the idea of a multi-thousand dollar knife with precious stones and hand engraving
Will you send it somewhere to re-sharpen it? I know the edge will hold up for a long long time but not forever, right? I am into guns but just learning about knifes.
I am currently Twenty two my most expensive knife at the moment is Microtech utx-85 in m390. Most ive ever spent was $300... But the most i would spend if a had the money would be around $500 to $600ish. Still wanting to get a custom made by CM.. Which is around the $300 about to sell.. an others out of my "collection". Thanks for all your videos.
Hi, I'm from Azores Portugal, I have been watching your videos for years, can't say for sure for how many... xD I Love your channel, your videos and the way you talk, about the knife stuff, makes me feel that other people see cutlery as fascinating as I do. I am 20 years old and the most expensive knife I have is a Gerber Applegate-Fairbairn Covert folder, in Europe is hard to buy knifes from the majority of the brands since they are much more expensive here. I have some american knives I bought in Azores due to the existence of an American USAF Airbase in my Island. Big Hug from Terceira Island!
I'm 17 and my most expensive knife is the Benchmade Griptilian 551s. It runs for about $115. The most that I'd ever spend on a knife is a little difficult to answer as I don't want to tie myself to that price, I have talked to guys about commissions for $600-800, given I had the money, I would spend around $2500.
I'm 17 years old and my Benchmade 63 is my most expensive knife at around 340. But I have 10 or so others from 200-300 bucks. But also have around 130 cheaper knives at around 20-80 bucks each, I love just as much and they all serve the same purpose to me.
Most expensive I've owned and bought is my fairly new Fox Dart XT and is made from N690Co with a G10 handle. It's the best knife I've ever owned and cost me $175.00 from Ultimate Knife. I'm usually not a big spender on knives, I usually spend $10-100.00$ on a knife but love my Fox Dart so much I plan on buying the Fox 599 non-XT version (same handle as the Dart but with Karambit blade and cheaper)
Im 34 been collecting since teen years super high ends are beautifully made but a grand is ridiculous, my most exspensive is a Zero tolerance 560, think it was $250 or so, which for money to quality ratio i think zero tolerance has the best balance, gorgeous knife though, thanks for showing it!
im 23 and been collecting since i was 12. I bought my most expensive knife when i was 20 and it cost 165€ that knife is Esee-4. Still love it and it's my go to knife if i need real stuff done, not just letter/box opening. Im saving for TOPS - Tom Brown tracker that costs almost 300€. I know that knife has a lot of hate around it but i just like how it looks, the shape and angles of it is quite nice looking. The most i would put in on a knife.. would depend on a knife.. but i guess around 1000€
18 years old and just bought my most expensive knife, paid $400 for a custom/modded BRS Carbon Fiber Replicant balisong. Not in the US so a decent chunk of that was shipping too lol. I think if I ever had the cash left over I would definitely spend $800-$1000 on a nice Snody Highroller or even more for a nice Hom Tempest.
18 years of age here. A BM 940 is almost 300 bucks here in Sweden, which I found worth it. I've been let down by it twice, so I changed the omega springs to home made ones and now I trust it fully. I bought it as a tool, and I'll use it as one. It's seen everything from gutting and killing fish to sharpening pencils, opening beer bottles and stripping cables. It's worn and it will be worse.
54 years old. Most expensive knife is a Benchmade 940, great knife. Like you it would have to be an amazing knife, but could see $1500 being the most I would spend. Keep up the great work on your videos.
I'm 24 and I have 3 "high end" knives. my first one was a benchmade 530 i bought for about $110. sharpest knife I had ever bought at that time. about 2 years later I bought a benchmade barrage for about $150. carried that for about a year. walked into a gun store looking to buy a new gun. they had a microtech ultratech s/e for about $220. new favorite knife I've ever had
23 years old. My most expensive knife is a $250 fixed blade forged by one of Murray Carters Journeyman smiths, Jamison Chopp. I carry it almost everywhere and use it like it's a $50 dollar knife. It's amazing. I also rather love my handmade friction folders by Hiroaki Ohta for when a fixed blade isn't so appropriate. I have two of those. $80 and $60.
I'm 20 years old, my most expensive fixed blade knife is now the bark river bravo 2 in CPM 3V, it's about 270$. My most expensive folder is a Spyderco Manix 2 lightweight, in CPM S110V. If I had the money, the most I can see myself spending on a knife is about 500$. Though of course, once I spend 500$ on a knife, 1000$ won't seem so crazy.
23 and I have loved knives and been watching your channel since the beginning. My most expensive knife is worth like $70. I think If I had the money to spend I would probably spend a couple hundred on a knife if the price was due to high quality and durability, but I am less a collector and more a user. I try not to purchase anything I'm not going to use. That's not to say you can't use an expensive knife. I think quality is a lot more important than quantity, but I think I can get most of my cutting tasks done with a 50 dollar spyderco edc blade or even a sub 20 dollar utility knife.
It's all about priorities in life, I have a bunch of knives that cost well over 500 or more but I actually preferred knives that are less than $20 especially my $10 knives from China.
This is super cool, I have collected some pretty fancy items for years now. 34 years old, I am far far from "wealthy" but I have paid for all my gear. It is the center focus of everything however and where I get most my enjoyment from. There is definitely a cool feeling you get when you hold it and think how much effort and time went into some of this art.
Late to the comment party but...30yrs old, have an Otanashi Noh Ken by CRKT as my first decent knife 150$. recently purchased an American Lawman by Cold Steel. Finally another yesterday which is a custom Demko AD15 full titanium...950$. Not rich, just save for stuff I really love.
16, about to purchase my first few knives only around $25 each. I'll probably get a few semi-expensive knives when I get a job, first one I get will probably be a balisong. On the topic of balisongs, do you know a site that ships to Canada and has balisong kits or would ship in pieces on request? Canadian knife laws make it impossible to order a balisong unless it's a trainer. The most I would spend on a knife depends on the knife, I might only spend $100 for my "perfect knife" or I'll find a $5,000 knife that I love.
I am working on getting a sigil in the next 2 weeks. This just made me switch to the anax. I edc a benchmade nakamura carbon fiber. 270 was the cost and I also carry a fixed blade by Spartan blades it was 370. My wife is getting me a nice hand gun for my. B-day next month.
and yet people spend over $1000 on virtual knives in a game that does nothing else but change the look of your original knife.
+Lawrence Luo *cough* CSGO players *cough*
Caleb Meger lol yep
+Lawrence Luo Hey, its addictive okay? XD
Collectors will collect. Some collect vintage shoes, some knifes. Some like to collect thin air *cough* csgo players
+Lawrence Luo i see no difference in this guy buying ridiculously expensive knifes for defense situations? if he needed a knife for utility a $20 would be fine
I'm 41 and my most expensive knife is a $950 Rockstead folder.
+WeAllJuggleKnives same have the KOU from rockstead
+WeAllJuggleKnives holy shit i never would have guessed you were that old!
+WeAllJuggleKnives I'm 100% with you on Rockstead... thumbs up!
41!? Ha you carry that well, dude!
+CedricAda Gear and Outdoors thats what I was thinking!
Is this knife good for batoning ?
lol, nope...
no wonder mine broke
I mean... how do you know? :) You should test it out and make a video!
why would you even try to baton with a pocket knife
That Aussie Bloke its kind of difficult to split a 1-2 inch diameter log with a hatchet
im 14 and i just got my first legit knife (buck bantam bhw). Its only worth like $25 but im lovin it.
Hi your are 18 now
yeah you're 18 now lmao, whats your most expensive knife now
You 18 now almost 19 that’s crazy
You're 19 now. Still love knives? 😁
21
Still enjoy knives?
Im 30 and my Most Expensive Knife is a $600 Medford Praetorian G
+Chris Thorn Most Expensive Knife ID ever buy... Either a Rockstead SHIN or a DSK Tactical Gentleman Folder depends on my mood that day! haha
Not so he could berate anyone who cares for expensive tools
Just dropped $270 on my microtech spartan. I thought I was insane for doing it...this makes me feel a little better for sure.
Jblooddrunk where did you get a microtech for $270?
Michrotech Gang 🖤 I got the Halo V it’s like 1,000 it’s amazing
I call bullshit on that one. Their over $300
i started loving knives when i was 14, starting with a paramilitary 2 (that i still have and use), kershaw skyline and benchmade griptillian. ive now gone away from buying knives at age 17 and have begun making them for myself. knifemaking is definetely a passion, very rewarding
Have a nice day and greatings from Sweden to all knife lovers!
uh... do kitchen knives count?
XD probably
+unknownexia good quality kitchen knives are so expensive
Some kitchen knifes can cost 2k-3k each knife and a set is 7-10 knives so you will spend more than 10k
+Jesus Christ what chefs knife are you looking at worth 2k-3k you have no idea
Trust me there's some kitchen knives are worth that much and there's allot of wealth chefs that can afford them.
How do you EDC a knife for a day? Isnt that just carrying?
you use it during the day
BananaBoat629 So what does the E in edc stand for, isnt it every?
yes
+1m1337noSh1t EDC= every day carry (if you were still wondering of didn't know
Edc is now taken as the things you have in you carry, and can be used as a verb
I get the feeling when he talking about the guy who owns 100k worth of knives and owns a muscle car. Sounds like he's talking about Jim Skelton who's another great RUclips I watch.
Steven Raneri thought the same thing. Lol
Steven Raneri I don't know, Jim Skelton is pretty damn into knives. He said this guy wasn't all that into knives.
Lol that would be my first guess
Jim skelton is a total POS. Look into him
i'm 18 and my most expensive knife is my S&W M9 Bayonet $90 i believe. its a huge fixed blade honestly never even used it but its one of my favorite blades haha
My most expensive knife in my collection is also from Tony Marfione, it's the MDT dispatch tool, one of the coolest knives I've ever seen.
16 (just turned 16) my most expensive knife is 18 euro's its a karambit tiger tooth from csgo
Ikr, the ones in game are most expensive than in real life lol
+NateDog47 you can check aliexpress.com the quality aint so great but it looks kinda cool
+NateDog47 check out www.elementalknives.com
***** You got it, dude
Are you going to do what you did with your last microtech (select fire) and smash it to shit to see what it can take?
Lol you dont make that sacrifice too often haha
that's good^
Also just got a Case Kickstart Trapperlock, about the same price.
and someone paid $50000 USD for an ingame knife lmao
Some people are mental......
csgo (the game)
It was a blue gem though man
i know but still. just go on a !ws server use the knife for a game then think why the fuck?
nah the 50k knife was a crimson web karambit fn staty
Why is this knife $1000? Can it cut through air and open a portal to another dimension?
+Jmund97 You're the type of kid who asks " Why is this sweater 100 bucks? ". It's about the work and the quality material used in making said product.
You're the kind of person who responds with quotes from the original poster in a way to show that you're smart.
+Jmund97 … It can cut through one's savings faster than any I own …
+H. Pavlovic … You have a $100 sweater ? It better be one Cosby wore on the show with a certificate of authenticity …
+H. Pavlovic But seriously, why is it 1k.
Im 67 years old ,my most expensive is a Microtech $300.00
Good man yes yes
I'm 17, the most I've spent on a knife thus far was ~$130 on my Manix 2. Most I could ever really see myself consider spending is probably the $300-$500 range. That's mostly due to having other hobbies (primarily keeping animals) that are costly and interest me more.
My most expensive knife is a Spyderco Tenacious.
TheUrbanAdventurer What?! HAHAHAHA
+Gʀᴀʏ Fᴏx Same here.
My first knife was a tenacious and I loved I carry a spyderco sage 2 now
+TheUrbanAdventurer The grey fox got me transferred to Anvil, the bastard.
The highest I'll go is 140 usd for a paramilitary 2
23 years old have a benchmade 940. this will be the only knife i buy over 100 dollars
i was torn between the 940 and the proper, still want the 940
Joshua G I’ve had my 940-2 for 5 years. And you can’t go wrong.
Lol, I thought the same at your age.
Joe Femur i got the 562cf from zt, im 16 and thats a $300 knife lol
I remember saying that ;)
i rather buy a thousand dollar AR15 than a knife like that!
Spent US$330 - US$370 on a sword when I was young, 18 I think. Will never do so again.
Kitchen knives are actually a good bargain..... Their quality could be better than those emerson's.
I posted a little video of me flipping it
+squadleaderjoey he isn't lying god damn.
+Rusty Shackleford that knifes amazing have you ever used it to cut anything or is it just for show.
Too expensive for me. Maximum Chris Reeve Knives.
I'm 19, and my most expensive knife is around $200; which is just as expensive as the sword I also own.
The most amount I would ever spend on one knife would have to be the $1200 hand ground tungsten carbide knife I've been eyeing up.

It'll break or chip of you abuse it by bashing it or prying with it, but that is the same as with any other knife that is hard enough to hold a decent edge for a while.
sandrinknives.com/faq.html
Don't call me a sucker until you actually R E S E A R C H what you're tying to sound smart about.
My most expensive knife is a Karambit Doppler!
+The Power Of Red my most expensive knife is like 14 bucks or something, and comes with a free game. Never had enough money to buy an actual knife like a balisong or a karambit...
+qcklu niets XD
Mines kara marble fade, fire n ice
+Inki Blackman Nice knife m8!
The Power Of Red ty ^_^
The most expensive knife I have is the Brous blades sniper
Hi Jeff how's it goin? I'm 28 years old and also am huge into knives and glad to have come across your channel!! My most expensive knife is my DART-XT gambit style folder with the tanto blade, made by my favorite martial artist Doug marcaida. I spent almost 200 dollars for it but I thought it was worth the money without question. Thank you again for what you do and hope to see more knives and battlboxes in the futire!!
24. I bought an alpha beast for 390, but I'm gearing up to (hopefully) buy an ex10 for 650
might as well buy an AK
group yas alpha beast for the win
I hope you're trolling
I'm 100 years old
dope
Doc Sun congrats
Doc Sun you still alive bro?
it think he is not
Doc Sun now your 102! Or it was a fabrication.
14 and my most expensive is probably a 250 bench made
+Josh Cohn it cost $250 if so which model?
+admax30 my apologies I meant 200 and it is an axis flipper
I'm 16 and mine is a benchmade model 51 spent 250$
+justice ingram nice knife
+Josh Cohn very nice
You're definitely right about it being regular people buying these knives. I haven't personally gotten to that level yet, but an uncle of mine dropped $2,300 on a knife, and he's just a regular working class guy. But I'm 22, and so far the most expensive knife I have is a WE Double Helix, and it's a $285 knife. But, I would be willing to go up into the $400-$500 range. That may change later on, but right now, that would be my top.
My most expensive weapon is a machete, i bought it for like 7 bucks.
I guessed $60, was poorly mistaken.
Jason Statham boiiiiiii
Cameron O. I thought $200. I would not pay over $70 for it though. Shmancy screws and all
I never realized how much of your audience is made up of teens and tweens. Haha... I guess that makes sense though these days.
Bastian oh yeah no doubt I have my Collection of knifes and firearms fishing equipment all that but not to the thousands of dollars extent that's true
Man I used to hate knives. I always thought why own a knife when you can own a gun. I couldnt imagine spending 20$ on a knife. But after I got my hand on a good one I went crazy. My most expensive is a gold series Benchmade about 650. I got a couple Medfords and a bunch of benchmades, Spyderco's and spent about 9000 on different knives.
must be Jim Skelton you were talking about?
I think your right on that.
Definitely agree - must be Jim
That's what i was thinking until he said something about his passion for knives. I think Jim loves knives more than most, I mean you gotta have a passion for something if you're gonna make videos on it.
It was nutnfancy
Truth feels the need to correct someone’s grammar from over 2 years ago lol get a life 😂
a little late to the party, but I'm 18. my most expensive knife is a Todd begg field marshall for $460.
Ryan Schweizer Nice taste in knives I see:)
17 and i have a krambit doppler on csgo worth 400-470$ its not even a real knife tho -_-
16 worth 430 dollars and bayonet marble fade
Madd Sdhigh cough* un less its a m9 its worth 390* cough
+doc hemphead sell it and get a real doppler for 70 dolors
+doc hemphead karambit marble fade 600-670
+doc hemphead lmao nice
I'm 38 and my most expensive knife is mt EDC CKRT M16 with carbon fiber scales, and I found the knife I have always wanted, a Gerber Applegate/Fairbairn combat folder.Never thought I'd get one but several years ago found one in like new condition for only $5 at a yard sale, the woman selling it said it was her son-in-law who wasin the Navy and him and her daughter were moving to CA. Only thing is the sheath is missing but the knife is just as sound as the day it was made.
i'm 25 and my most expensive knife is $20
kind of weird that you know lots of 10 to 13 year old boys
tayb5oh4 yea it is lmao
Extremely overpriced knife. If you pay $800 for this mass produced knife, you are a fish.
I'm 50 and the most expensive knife I currently own is a Benchmade. It's a griptilian and I'm very happy with it which is making me want to try out some more expensive knives because $50 was my limit before. The most I think I could go now is around $200 and not lose any sleep! Great video by the way.
Hey Jeff! I am 20 years of age. And my most expensive knife is a limited addition microtech combat trodon. Valued at $1,400. And I love it!
27
Right now an XM 18 bowie or the large sebenza insingo about 400 USD each.
By the way I am 27, and the most I would spend on a knife is no more than 200 bucks.
One of the nicest looking knives I've seen. It kind of calls to you "buy me". Anyhow, wish I could afford one. Thanks for sharing.
Great topic Jeff,
17 Male turning 18 in december.
i own a 100 dollar Blk Kershaw blurr 1/2 serrated.
My cheapest is a spyderco tenacious and on the higher end is a few benchmade gold class and spyderco sprint run knives.. with a good mix in the middle range (my most recent is a stryker damasteel gold class)
my dream knife would be the next one I fall in love with regardless of price... since I collect for myself and not to flip or re-sell.
... as for the apparent younger audience then me...
Wow! Very very beautiful knife. Awesome.
i actually talked to a coworker who is an 18 year old girl about expensive knives because i carry a custom benchmade 62, benchmade 51-1801, and a benchmade nestucca with a custom leather sheath. after getting into super steels and titanium vs chinesiums her opinion changed from thinking $50 was too much for a nice knife to her considering saving up $100 for a self defence knife and understanding why id be willing to spend $1000 on a balisong made by the right maker without a second thought and even loving the idea of a multi-thousand dollar knife with precious stones and hand engraving
Also i dont know why i never saw this video earlier.... Im just going to blame it on youtube messing with how you see your subs..
I'm 24 and I have 3 "high end" knives. my first one was a benchmade 530 i bought for about $110. sharpest knife I had ever bought at that time. about 2 years later I bought a benchmade barrage for about $150. carried that for about a year. walked into a gun store looking to buy a new gun. they had a microtech ultratech s/e for about $220. new favorite knife I've ever had
and I think that is close to the most I would spend. maybe up to $300
23 years old.
My Randall 8 Inch SS All purpose fighter . I've had it for 30 yrs I'm 61. I also have the Sog S1 Bowie Seki japan also bought over 30yrs ago .
