Bluey is to Incognito what Maurice was to Earth Wind & Fire. Incognito is my favorite band since EWF. The quality of their live performances is the reason why.
I had the pleasure of meeting Bluey in Portugal several years ago. He was really really cool. We had a few beers at the bar and talked for almost a half hour.....
I’m an old musician who’s been in love with Brazilian music all my life & also a big fan of George Duke. It’s great to see this tribute to him with this excellent performance of his composition.
This is as close as anyone can get to duplicating this tune. I had the CD, been to Brasíl, and this takes me to the place and time. The horns are tight!! Hard to believe Bluey is the director. He is so humble. I met him in Chicago in 2000 and he was walking through the halls like a regular person. Twenty years later, he is still humble. And Incognito is still stellar.
George Duke and many of his colleagues have passed into the grave. Their music is their legacy now, but they are gone. “Incognito” will, like all the rest, pass away. That is the way of the world. MY God lives on and has been from eternity pass. I believe in the eternal loving God, not idols, human or otherwise… For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. You will too, and neither Incognito nor George Duke, has a heaven or hell to sentence mankind to.
This give me chills! There isn't a musical group today that can play their style of music that has transcended generations. Their music is timeless and always class. Doesn't matter the vocalists or the band member Bluey and Matt know who to pick
That was niiiiice. You'd thunk not only George's spirit was in the house, but that he's onstage playing. The horns were sweet, and they stepped like TOP horns.
My favourite song of ALL TIME. First time I heard it I was 18 and a student in London. By the time I was 27 I was living on the beach with the "sexy women calling to" me. I'm still there at 62. ❤️❤️❤️. This even better than George Duke live 👍👍🙏.+1
Before this was in the UK pop charts (abridged version) My friends and I friends went to Spain on Holiday, we were all Jazz funkers and had been aware of this great song for about a year before it went commercial, we had a Ghetto Blaster and when we were on the beach we played this along with all the classic Jazz Funk songs of the time. I shit you not! this always got everybody where we were sunbathing up and dancing and asking us questions about who it was and what kind of music it was, memories I will take to my grave. I like to think were were pioneers!!
Nice...I must state that as I was admiring and enjoying the sister in white with white flowers in her hair, She wemt on to play congas durring the instrumental jam... Wow...She can be in my band any day ! :) She sang so well.... she made my day.
Been a massive fan of British jazz funk since the late 70is, started with hi tension, beggars+co, light of the world, the warriors, the team and the great incognito, not forgetting central line. This was pure funky jazzy class. For me though jazz funk was incognito s best album, after that I think they got a bit commercial, got all of their lps though, best song of late nights over Egypt 😁🤗😉
Drummer Francesco Mendolia laying it down - love it. Soloists Francis Hylton (bass) and Matt Cooper (electric piano) are incredible. George would dig it for sure! :)
saw Incognito and met the band in Zurich some months ago. Didn't know they ve been interpreting one of my favourite tunes of George duke. played with him one time on stage many years ago in Los Angeles. god bless him. so inspiring. he introduced me to Brazilian music. You are still listening and smiling to us. FOR SURE....
That was wonderful. So great I have had to play it several times consecutively. To my shame I haven't come across incognito before but will definitely have to check out more of their music.
June 2020 and I still listen to this quite often and still can't get over how good a cover/tribute this is. One of my favourites and Incognito does it again. George Duke would be proud and anyone who can sit still to this tune is either dead or deserves a medal. Can't quite help thinking that Mr. Electric Piano reminds me of Gonzo from the Muppets, but in a nice way of course :-) Thanks again Incognito for a Fab piece of music, excellent Musicians and singers one and all, still fantastic 4 years later. Keep it up.
Greeeeeeat...... I had the honor to see several recordings sessions in George Dukes studio in LA many many moons a go..... will never forget it in my life.... great human being.....🌻🌻🌻
Nothing short of magnificient!!!nice job. And the gentleman on the keys hats off sir!! Salute. Incognito heavy rotation!!! Whooo mannn those keys!!! Tagg.
That was tasty. This was a wonderful tribute to George and the George Duke Band from that time. Every Band should dance. Loved those times and the music George made.
2020 March 20, good vibes and great sound to a man that took music to another level of sights sounds composing, arrangements and so on. George Duke Forever Remembered - Peace
Have to come back and listen to this and think about pre pandemic days chillin on the beach but most of all just to hear a tight ass band in there groove
Yep, Bluey and the band takin' it to the heights. Kudos to the bass player and a few other band members... for wearing a white shirt and tie. Don't see much of that...love it!
Bluey is to Incognito what Maurice was to Earth Wind & Fire. Incognito is my favorite band since EWF. The quality of their live performances is the reason why.
Totally AGREE🤘🥁👍🙏🏻
I had the pleasure of meeting Bluey in Portugal several years ago. He was really really cool. We had a few beers at the bar and talked for almost a half hour.....

i believe in Inognito not in God Incognito exists!!!
