"Small Gifts" Triptych- each 20cm x 20cm (8" x 8") Resin, found objects, pigment, acrylic crackling paste on ceramic tile mounted on wood panel.
This is a new work for my series "On the Surface" which explores meaning and emotional response to surface textures. These three panels embed small pieces of jewelry from my past. Small Gifts of jewelry can hold special meaning to all of us at different stages of our lives... memories and markers of time. Hope you like them.

I have NO AFFILATION with these products. I list them as many people ask where I get my materials:
I used both blue painters tape and Bear brand cloth tape- from the hardware store.

Stunning!
What a wonderful way to preserve keepsakes......I know you will enjoy these for years! Thank you for sharing!
Gorgeous idea. I love the effect on the back boards. It’s a lot of work sanding, painting and gluing. I’m in the process of doing a 600 x 300 tile.
Cathy of everything you’ve made I think these have to be the BEST. You have given me the inspiration to experiment. Thank you
Really Nice Cathy. Great ideas you always have
Your so inventive Cathy. I try to do the same. Sometimes my experiments work and some times they dont but it's all about learning and sharing with others so I thank you. You were one of the main artists to inspire me and give me the courage to explore art and with that and alot of pushing by our friend Laura Usher i made a channel and just passed 4k subscribers. I could have never imagined that many people would ever want to watch me but they do and I just wanted to say thank you for sharing your valuable time and your invaluable art/techniques. ❤😘🤗
Oh my goodness Tammy, don’t be telling anyone how much I pushed you, lol. It’s so amazing to see all of us artists coming together and sharing all beautiful artwork. I’m still pleased to say I own one of Cathy’s beautiful paintings ♥️♥️♥️♥️
@@usherl250 you are a lucky gal for sure and it us a great thing that our love for this thing called art has created a sisterhood. Oh maybe we can start our own little group and invite only the special people lol we can call it the sisterhood of the traveling artists. Get it? Like the book? Traveling pants? Am I the only one that knows that book? I hope not or else you shall think me mad! Lol❤
I fully agree with you. This is so inspiring. May I ask what type of tape has been used by Cathi or what you use in order to make a frame?
@@cathylanestudios thank you very much!! 😊

Cathy,
Your beautiful use of many materials to buildup, to create color, to create unexpected texture is exciting and inspiring! Are you entirely self taught or did you have some formal schooling also? Lovely final, keepsake results!
