Not hating on personal choice… but as a person who lives in LA, Alo tends to be for a few specific types of people. 1. You’re not really working out, so you don’t care how they hold up. 2. You have more money than sense so you don’t care. 3. You just want to walk around in Alo with your Stanley cup. All ok reasons… but like lots of things, imo, these things never live up to the hype in practice.
@@manojipereira9169I feel like cropped puffers/ jackets generally are a warm climate thing. Like, a jacket that doesn’t even cover your butt is not gonna keep you warm when it’s snowing. I walked past a girl today wearing a super cute cropped jacket and leggings. It wasn’t even that cold but I could literally hear her teeth chattering. It’s cute, but not a trend that values warmth
It is very LA. Too much disposable money so they don't care if the clothing doesn't last long. Very disappointing that fast fashion is a normal lifestyle.
I got the airbrush leggings a while ago and while they haven’t pilled a whole bunch (I only wash with cold water), they have lost some compression. The airlifts are still holding up but then again, I only do pilates in them. I still prefer my PopFlex stuff. Please do a video on PopFlex. Cassey is such a good designer and the clothes are actually really high quality.
Thanks for helping me be a discerning customer! I fall victim to the soft fabric trick all the time, ugh. I like the voice over style of the video. It makes the video easier to concentrate to me. I hate the ambient noise whenever someone films in store.
I went to the one in Orange County to buy gifts and the employee had the audacity to appraise my outfit before helping me (I was wearing an indie streetwear brand) LIKE GIRL pls you sell mid quality activewear, this isn’t The Row. 🤡 Needless to say, this was a huge turn off and honestly embarrassing for the brand to act this way.
Many luxury fashion brands encourage their employees to behave like to entice the consumer to purchase more clothing as a way to “get back at them”. So I would not be surprised if this was a marketing strategy.
been watching your videos for a while, and apart from being entertaining and informative, i just wanted to let you know that it's very appreciated how professionally you film - much nicer than most youtubers who use their phone!
I live in Asia and I don't have these brands in my country, but it's always interesting and fun to go shopping with you. I used to only check for loose threads or the thickness of the clothes, but now I read the fabric composition carefully as well.
i have a vintage track suit from alo, it’s grey and green. came with a jacket and flair track pants. it’s worn well for 2 years and many more because i got it second hand. i wish most brands kept their original quality. before the 2010s rebranding of everything.
Oooooh, you should do a follow up video to let us know how the set you bought works in practice. Do the leggings stay up when you exercise or do you have to keep pulling them up, does the material sag after a day of use, does it withstand the squat test, etc. And let us know how it holds up over time, did it pill, fade, shrink, whatever. That would be interesting to see.
I got their sweat set and of course, it looked so worn and old after one wash. I feel so bad that I spent more than two hundreds American dollars on this! Never again. Thanks for your honest review!
That's so odd, I was able to order something online and take it into the store with no problem! As much as I love Alo but I can 100% say I don't use it for activewear...moreso using it as fashion pieces instead. The prices deff kill meeee, but I will say I absolutely love the stylish pieces. However I 100% believe people should use their own discernment when making these purchases. Thank you for always giving an honest review!
Are you in the US? Jennifer is based in Canada so it seems like the online vs in store issue is probably a result of the website actually being run by a different part of the company (in the US) and the store doing its own thing in Canada.
I’m down the block from one of their new stores and was really pleasantly surprised by their stitching and construction, though I think the feel and quality of fabric is a little more hit or miss. I’ve had a pair of their basic joggers for two years though and have had surprisingly little pill at the thighs.
Honestly, I have a few sets from the Accolade line and mine have held up well these past 2-3 years. I do take care of them - turn them inside out, machine wash with cold water on "delicate" cycle, and low heat in the dryer for only 30 mins max and air dry if needed. Might seem "too much effort" for the price I've paid, but I always do this for all my activewear and they hold up very well. I have tried so many sweatpants and Alo fits me the best, especially the Accolade Straight Leg Sweatpant. They're thick and layer up well. Thanks for the review!
I would love to know how they justify the crazy differences between their online prices and in store prices. You’re already paying tax and shipping for their clothes online
My favorite leggings are Alo Airlift. I only get airlift from Alo. You are right about the pilling issue on their loungewear. BUT I have a sweatshirt that I love from them called Soho and they pill like crazy but I don't care because they were bought to wear only in the house. Airbrush sucks over time... pills and stretches out. They release the same colors every year but with only a slight twist.
I never want to risk makeup on items too. When I went to Japan they gave me a thin dryer sheet like bag to put over my face when dressing so the clothes would not touch. I wish they had them in Canada
It was common practice {in higher end stores} to have a chiffon scarf available in the ladies fitting rooms. You would throw the scarf over your head before slipping into a garment, to prevent make-up transfer.
I've had a pair of airlift leggings for years, they still look brand new. Really nice leggings. I think it's also worth noting that almost all of their bottoms do come in 7/8 length as well, which is much better for us short people lol - perhaps they just don't have them in store. My airbrush leggings did stretch and pill a bit, but they are super super old, and I think they may have changed the fabric since then. A+ for alo bras, I love all of the ones I have. I also have a tennis dress with built in shorts from them (different to the one you tried) that I wear so much, it looks so nice on and also has adjustable straps.
I own three things from Alo, two of their long line bras and a cropped jumper, all of them for a few years old. They are a staple in my workout wardrobe - but I bought them on discount so deem them a good find. Other than that, their items don’t really appeal and I couldn’t justify paying full price!
One thing to mention about the airbrush leggings - of the 10+ brands I ordered and tried, the airbrush were the most resistant to attracting pet hair ! This is a big deal for me. Sportswear by nature can easily attract hair like a magnet and with the Alo fabric,it brushes off easily. So far mine have never pilled and the compression is perfect. Note: I wash in reverse, cold and airdry.. Honestly they look nearly brand new after having them for 2yrs now..
I started doing yoga about a month ago and so I'm gonna finally go to the mall and buy some proper attire soon. This video is sooo helpful to me (and your other content).

I watched this review to possibly apply as i am a really good merchandise/visual.. but i cannot take part in scamming people. They pay so so well too... 70k starting. But i been on retail for 15 years and i understand what these companies do now. 100 percent this is a trend brand versus a long lasting brand. Trust me theres a difference. Take a step back and really think about it. They take the same things u find in marshalls or ross, add one extra thing and mark it as 200 dollars. Lululemon is a long lasting brand in this style of fashion for sure. This company focuses on LOOKING expensive but cant back it up.
Very thorough, thanks so much. Loved how you explained the materials and function. Just got the airlift / airbrush, love the advise. Definitely subscribing now.
I have the gold rush puffer and it’s honestly very warm and I have even washed and dried it and it holds up great. I love the airlift leggings and think they are super flattering and hold you in. Airlift line is nice and holds up super well.

It sucks because I really like the soft corderoy look. But the fabric looks cheap. Thanks for your review. Since you compared to Walmart for their hoodie. Can you do a Walmart review?
Ugh it’s so frustrating when you can’t return something in store from online. I received a gift of a New Balance sweater and it didn’t fit right so I went to exchange it and I couldn’t in store, and tried contacting their customer service online to never get a response. I now stay away from places that operate this way when I can.
Like the leggings and sports bra you showed, but wow, those price differences online vs in store - crazy! I shop almost only online, as no stores near me, so that is worrying. We don't have Alo stores here, so the fact that online is so much more expensive makes it a hard pass for me. Would you try out Varley sometime? Would love your opinion. Not sure if you have it in your area, but very popular in EU/ UK.
I got their sweater when they had the 30% sale. When I got it I was so surprised at how thin it was. Never will I buy anything from them other than their socks. Even with the sales it’s still insane to charge 70 bucks for a sweater that doesn’t even keep you warm.
I bought one of their leggings.. spandex texture and they piled after the first wear. I was just doing leisure activities. No exercise. It didn’t even get washed yet and they were so expensive.. I thought they would last.. I would not buy their leggings again after that… but their designs are so nice
They just opened the store in Dubai Mall. I went in and found it too pricey. Came home to check reviews and surprisingly found a lot of negative reviews.
I'm in the US but I actually LOVE my muse joggers and matching cropped hoodie. The "pilling" you're mentioning is actually not pilling. It's just how the fabric is. I've washed my set twice now and it looks exactly the same as when I bought it. No change to the fabric. If it was actually pilling, it would've gotten worse with wear and washing. Also, I'm 5'4 so not that much taller than you but they fit lengthwise on me perfectly. Height doesn't equal inseam. I have longer legs so that's why it's important try on things when you can.
I would really love it if you could try. M and S (Marks and Spencer's) it is a British brand but I belive they do ship to the US. It is one of my go to for jeans, t-shirts and basics. Their fabrics are very good and I have many peices from them which I have owned for over 5 years.
Truthfully as a yoga instructor, I see my student wear Alo or Lululemon and the outfit doesn't make you perform better. I buy my leggings from Costco and it suits me fine and I had more than 5 years of wear on them and they are still wearable.
Alo is much more trendy than lululemon. I love some of their fabric. It’s nice for lounging but I’m not too sure for work out. Some of the fabric is a meh🤷🏻 but most of all I hate their logo. It’s kind of embarrassingly funny. I don’t know if I wanna be seen in it if it doesn’t have so much heavy marketing.
Why can’t I get ANY white basics anymore from these “high end” brands?!! They’re ALL see through !! I’m better off getting white tops from targets wild fable
An alo recently opened up 15 min from where I live. Because of you I knew how to check all of their products for quality. I saw a really nice pea coat and I flipped to the inside and the stitching was not straight and worse, I checked the fastening of the button and the button popped right off! The basic sweats, I was absolutely shocked at how rough the outer material was! Absolutely felt like a Walmart basics! For $118 each piece, it’s robbery. I’m embarassed for anyone who shops here because of trend and not quality. Sizing I believe is also exclusive to petite ish bodies, I’m a size 4-6 34ddd, bras were out of the question and I was struggling in their xl sizes (which they BARELY had).
I was gifted two pairs of Alo pants after I gave birth. One was the muse pair you tried on. They’re a cranberry color and that color seems to disguise and gunkiness better than the color you tried. I also was gifted a dark cranberry pair of the drawstring joggers you tried too. Those are still pretty good after 2.5 years. Not perfect but much better than the Muse pair.
Finding your channel has saved me SO much money Im a sucker for buying junk and Im so sick of paying armloads for clothes that don’t last. Looking forward to your fashion brand but PRAYING your prices are reasonable. I’ve yet to find leggings that support me in the waist and fit my thighs 😩
I've owned two pairs of Alo pants and while I loved the style of them, they did not hold up well at all; one pair basically disintegrated, and FAST... I avoid the brand entirely since
My first purchase from Alo was the wave sweat set and after one wash it pilled terribly. It’s so bad it’s unwearable! Based on my experience, I think you are on to something: workout wear may be quality but their other items are not!
Can you make a video on bras/undergarments? I personally find Victoria's Secret bras to be severely lacking in quality and the size range is atrocious (I'm a 30DD). Good quality bras like Panache, Simone Perele, Cosabella etc. are so hard to find out in the wild.
Do you have any videos about pull overs/sweat brands that don't look like garbage after 3 washes? I can't find any cute high quality sweat sets for lounging. I feel like my sweats are only lasting a year before they pill/look raggedy.
i dont think the pieces with faux leather are meant for exercise and I am curious if they advertise them like they are. I was very surprised by the price difference when I was going to order a shirt that i liked in store and was lucky I took a picture of the price tag. to me, that's a terrible business practice.
Ordered the bra with the black undercup thingey and the corset jacket. I don’t like it one bit. The seem on the jacket is odd, the jacket is also see-through and the top droops down, so you actually don’t have a nice bustier-effect. Also the fabric is cheap and. on another note: difficult to send it back from Europe to the states and the shipping cost 56€. Customer service is none existent. I recently ordered Lululemon and while I am not too happy with the prices, I really like their stuff. So Lulu or any other brand other Alo.
I dunno where you’re located but where I’m at the Prices are the same online and in store. You can return in store for refund or online. I own a lot of Alo but generally don’t like their leggings though since don’t feel comfortable and too much compression. The tops, sports bras, jackets and socks are where it’s at!
I have some of the airbrush leggings and pleaseeee run away from them! They are full of lint after the first wash! Contacted customer service and never got a response 😖
the price differences are CRIMINAL
Agreed! 😩
@wangjenniferr Greek subs please??????????????

One thing to mention about the airbrush leggings - of the 10+ brands I ordered and tried, the airbrush were the most resistant to attracting pet hair ! This is a big deal for me. Sizing I believe is also exclusive to petite ish bodies, I’m a size 4-6 34ddd, bras were out of the question and I was struggling in their xl sizes (which they BARELY had).
Starting your own fashion brand?! Sign me upppp
I literally walked in with my friend and was shocked by how poor the quality seemed on NEW items. I swear I saw some hoodies already pilling...
Jen can u review Ralph Lauren next?❤
Hit or miss with Alo- I love waiting for their annual sale and doubling it with cash back from credit cards to justify some of their items!
Thank you so much for giving critics it really helped me
Can you please review Brooks Brothers. Are they still a real staple well made etc?😺
Best winter coat???? Now that they’re all on sale 😉
Appreciate your review ! i was almost to buy alo muse sweat pant but I glad I did not buy.
My fav leggings are from Uniqlo the airism, they don’t pull and are very easy to move around in
Finding your channel has saved me SO much money Im a sucker for buying junk and Im so sick of paying armloads for clothes that don’t last.
I avoid the brand entirely since
im the opposite of an alo stan
SO informative, thank you!!!!! Will def be looking out for your future vids (:
Love the short videos but was hoping you make long ones too 👌🏻
Have you ever ordered from Lovers + Friends? Love to see you come out with your own brand btw!
Can you please do a review of the Athleta activewear line at Gap?
My first purchase from Alo was the wave sweat set and after one wash it pilled terribly. It’s so bad it’s unwearable! Based on my experience, I think you are on to something: workout wear may be quality but their other items are not!
Im so inlove with my airlift leggings from alo
Please do a review of Aritzia 🙏🏾❤️
Would love to see your review on popflex!
This is such a good and smart review!
Prices are higher online because they do not have a Canadian warehouse as yet. So the prices online include duties. Still shitty though
I’m a yoga world recordist. I think I might design a better line. It would be good for running and weightlifting too.
I have some of the airbrush leggings and pleaseeee run away from them! They are full of lint after the first wash! Contacted customer service and never got a response 😖
