One tip from me , intense D will correct your position .. Dont hold it all the time, then they blow by u.. SO USE IT WHEN YOUR BETWEEN THE BASKET AND YOUR DEFENDER TO STAY. THERE. I could make a video about it because my on ball defense is great, only i would like to bump players more and get more steals
I learned this the other day. Took a min to master it but i shut down everyone in career mode and in pro am it helps a bit. I was used to aiming the left stick towards the ball carrier and pressing the block button. I havent had too many fouls since learning this style of defense.

I can't jump because they never give me the block. If i play hands up, they just back me down and dunk on me. If i gwt good position to cut off their path to the basket off ball, the pg throws tgem the ball and they just fly in front of me to catch the pass and I have to recover before they get the easy bucket ( usually resulting in a foul anyway). Its really annoying playing great d and still getting scored on anyway.

if 2k wants to get better at defense they need to take a page out of live18's book. nba live did it perfect this yr. 2k18 has too much sliding but there is room for improvement.
Bowinkle82 Brewer - Live 18 has terrible defense. The blow by animation is even more used in that game. I just drive into my defender with my wing scorer and he gets a free layup or dunk.

Not that many, right?? But, once help comes, they pass it up and rarely go up. My problem is that when you double a drive all the offensive player has to do is go up. Half of the time they get two free throws. A lot of the time, I help with my center but a third player, the computer, comes out of nowhere and commits a foul on a reach in.

Even worst than that are those who decided to not play with their bench so they keep their starters during all the damn game. Puting the coach sliders setting to 100. Not defending on-ball ... i HATE those type of players. Am in the only one struggling to beat this particular tactic?
Do you succeed to "counter" this animation with off-ball? when i play against lebron, i am never sure that the AI is doing a great job. or i have to do like some fuckers there and push the coach sliders on defensive intensity to a 100... but i got to admit i'm a bit sad to use all those tricks just to play ball..
I honestly find it a lot easier to play defense this year. I just wish my teammates in MyCareer could play defense also. Not having the ability to switch my defensive assignments allows for Curry and Kyrie to score 40 and 50 points in MyCareer every time I face them.

it only works is you dont hold l2 or lt. it is also hard to do though cuz the players dribble and move so fast

Reach on the snatch back, the animation will bring you closer to the ball handler, then jump. Gotta trust your big man to watch your bank
