I got a build with 98 perimeter, just so I could get HOF pick dodger and this shit does not work. My player gets bumped off the screen and gets put out of position instead of "blowing up the screen" like the badge says. With my player basically out of the play, this creates an open shot that a good gaurd will hit. This the shit that makes me want to quit 2k or sue em for fraud.
Blowing up screens is only for park but I never seen it work
@@demonNthesn0w this is my park lock. That's why I wasted attribute points to get the 98 perimeter, just to get that badge for playing in the park with the build. My build is still good for me overall, but that shit gets me when I'm getting beat up by screens with a HOF badge that's supposed to stop that 😔

Thank you for the video. I’m a good defender but with my beloved Knicks (who lack a big perimeter defender with high badges) it’s hard to defend a good player using a team like okc, who has a 95 rated Shai in a 5 out offense
Yeah having a high enough rating and the right badges will is honestly the biggest part about playing good defense and stopping a star
I’d say play zone, but I can’t really reliably play zone without leaving a 3 point shot open.

Off ball defense off the worst 3pt shooter and help. also go into your defensive settings and change how your individual matchups play according to who their defending. It's not a magic cure, but it'll help

Hey, Jersey, cpuld you make a video about how to defend or counter the pick and roll and the L2 cancel moves online especially on The Rec. I think sometimes this is unfair. Even how hard you stayed on your ball handler but once you get screened or they make some L2 cancel moves, sometimes it is tough to stop. Please Man, we need your help.

I’m a little confused, at 2:25 you say we shouldn’t use either trigger to navigate a screen but the footage and hand cam show the defender using turbo through a screen. Which is it? In the PG clip where he turns his hips while fighting the screen it looks like you used turbo there
I mean don’t use either trigger but rather just the right trigger and the left stick

I don’t think so
@@Jerseymad93 all they would have to do is let you choose one of your other players on your team as a defender so you could really work on your dribble moves. Also you could choose their level of defender just like the game modes, hall of fame through rookie.
Defending AI is easy and you can apply those. But with online, it's not that easy. 94 feet is difficult to activate especially if you are guarding high ball handle guards. Not to mention if they are doing pick and roll. Even how high is your pick dodger, still you will be screened. It's a coordination of the Big not to make a drop cover, but to switch or contest the guards who likely shoot for 3. PF should take the roller bigs.
To stop the pick and roll well at least slow it down for the most part. Just guard the ball handler to the screen side. He wants to dribble to the screen so I just take that side away from him. He literally just constantly bumps into me and if your strength is high enough you will force ball pickups or bump steals. If he dribbles away from the screen you can make up ground and contest the fade or the driving layup. But just defend that side and force him away from the screen.

I really appreciate your tips but this does not work anymore. Defense is just bad on this game, I’ve tried everything at this point. I play top notch defense they just run right past me online. This is the worst experience for players that put pride in defense. Offense is just OP

Defense sucks on this game can’t stop nobody you literally cover a shooters eyes he’s still making the shot that’s wack.
When you defending a left righter that just shoot 3s, Just hold the right analog up to keep your hands up at the perimeter so you don’t slide around the court. Works trust me, they’ll keep running into you but it makes u susceptible to a drive so work with it
If u tlkin bout hall of fame yeah defense dnt matter that’s because the AI don’t have shot timing impact the cpu literally decides what shots they gonna make or miss however i did see a clear change when i jump even tho it’s high risk for a foul I’ve seen more defensive stops on the three point line tht is in the cpu make a ton of bs but the three point it becomes a drag

NBA players make contested shots all the time, right? It never made sense that you couldn’t make contested shots in 2k

If you whine about defense ur just bad at the game. (Especially in 5v5) Get you’re right settings and predict where the ball handler is going, not hard jus stop crying about it. If you’re in park just don’t run a 180 pound 6’2 pg with no defense.
