Interestingly, the "Lord of the Flies" scenario kinda did happen in real life, when six teenage boys became stranded on a deserted island in Tonga. But instead of turning on each other and resorting to violence, they became best friends for life and got hella swolle and extra christian during the time they were on the island.
So Lord of the Flies, but less of them and instead of straight barbarism they supplanted it with cultism?

The thing about the fourth Pirates of the Caribbean is that, its an indirect adaptation of a book by the name of "On Stranger Tides".
The initial plan was to quite literally adapt the book as is, and introduce new characters to create a PotC trilogy that is closer to the ride's ambiance.
But the executives were like "But our audience is just going to beg for Johnny Depp". Knowing how dumb the general public can be (I mean, look at Illumination), they probably would've. But clearly he had a character arc and it was done. So not sure what they were going for there.
In "Dead Men tell no Tale", Jack Sparrow isn't even the same anymore. The movie also fucks over established lore so I'm not sure how they managed to slip that up? But hey.
If someone told me they planned to remake Lord of the Flies with girls instead of boys, my first three thoughts would be, in this order:
- Nobody wants that.
- I’m concerned that you thought we wanted that.
- I’m even more concerned that you apparently want that.

I didn't grow up having watched ATLA as it was not on either of the 2 channels we had at the time here so i watched it only a couple of years ago for the first time and somehow managed to do that without any spoilers and i didn't even know Khora was a thing at the time either. When i was done watching ATLA my thoughts were "God DAMN this show was WAY too good for a kid's cartoon, i wish there was more" and quickly found out about Khora and was so very excited to get more of this world. About 3 minutes into the first episode: *Khora bursting into the room and using 3 of 4 elements in the age of what, 5?* "I'm the Avatar and you gotta deal with it" and i just went "...oh no, but hey it might just have a bad start". It got worse with a few good things springled in and i've been slowly getting more annoyed as time has passed. And i do not think it is nostalgia that is the cause here either.
I'm still salty about how they absolutely ruined the first big bad of the show.I forgot his name but he was perfect,he was intimidating,cool in design and concept,and he had the perfect voice.and then they ruined it

For a less overly analyzing reason Ina's default outfit is basically an open back dress with a miniskirt but since she doesnt have a large chest most people wont think of it as a revealing outfit. The whole topic overall comes with too much annoying baggage to it though with stuff like how people are perceived to the public with stuff like marine doesnt even talk about lewd topics on stream that much but because thats all that gets translated to her and because shes willing to talk about that stuff at all thats the only way people will ever view her.

@FishStickOnAStick You are pretty spot on in your assessment on the troubles at Boeing right now. After the merger with McDonnel-Douglas, the culture within Boeing changed. Instead of engineers from within the company being promoted up the corporate hierarchy, the bean counters were moved up in their place.
As for the 737 MAX program, that's almost right. When Airbus debuted their A320neo (which is an A320 with new engines), American Airlines (Boeing's most valuable customer) said to Boeing, "We're thinking about buying a fleet of these planes, but... what do you have to offer?" In response to this Boeing had two options: either create a new clean-sheet design or follow Airbus's line of thinking. They went with the latter option as it would be quicker and cheaper. Now, could Boeing have gone with a clean sheet design? Maybe, but that may take up to 10 years (or longer) before production starts. Time was just not on Boeing's side.

Honestly I'm looking forward to hearing Fish tear Korra a new one. Honestly, no other series has made me go from loving it in my childood (OG ATLA) to absolutely hating it (Korra) to making the hate I have for it so big and vile that I don't even care about it anymore (as demonstrated by me completely skipping all live-action adaptations and even the comics, which are not better in writing than Korra)

god the ending rant on korra i felt, absolutely hate the concept of psychick bending as a whole, even combustion man needs direct eye contact and extreme focus for his pin point attack. and to do it with blood bending of all things is like, so overpowered, only part i could get is resisting other blood benders because you would be blood bending yourself with your movements.
but yeah korra tends to have all these specialised benders, metal and lightning bending are commonplace, the guy too inept to learn metal bending just randomly discovers he can lava bend, moonless bloodbending, a second mother fucking avatar whos existance completely fucks the lore and theming of the world.

Since you brought up Legend of Korra in this video, I want you to know that Nickelodeon hated this show and tried to sabotage it as much as possible, which is why it ended up the way it did. The show's staff members are aware of this and wish they had created a better show, but Nickelodeon is essentially to blame for the show's controversy. It's a miracle that The Last Airbender show is as good as it is because Nickelodeon has long hated and disrespected the The Last Airbender franchise. The Last Airbender might have been just as awful as The Legend of Korra. I'm not sure who at Nickelodeon despises this franchise the most, but they do, and they've been undermining it ever since the first series concluded. This disrespect and hate towards this franchise has even been shown in the live-action TV show because of how much it changed and it made the original people who created The Last Airbender leave working on the project. So to conclude your criticisms of Legend of Korra are valid but keep in mind everything I just said in this comment because everything was stacked against them on making a good show and they really wanted to and are capable of doing so but, Nickelodeon made it nearly impossible for them to do so.

Why would female Lord of the Flies ruin the point of the story? I interpreted it as a commentary on humanity, not just men. I mean if you want to argue that remaking old things but with women is lazy then thats valid but how does it ruin the point of the book?

But Amon could bloodbend on every night, not just the full moon so he could get 30 times more practice in a month than Hama. He also had Yakone as a teacher even if Yakone couldn't bend at the time, but he's still better than no teacher.
Also why would Hama want or need to learn psychic blood bending? She's targeting defencless civilians and she can only bloodbend at night so she doesn't need to conceal that she's bloodbending because she can easily stay hidden in the shadows.
