    I find it alot more entertaining when you get 5-6 seasons (im in 2022 in my liverpool career mode) because there are alot of generated players and the scouting system is really good because you dont know anything about the players where as at the start with 80% of players you have an idea of who they are and what they are good at

    The most enjoyable part of career mode for me is to make up your own storeis. The fifa news articles basically plant a seed in your head and you branch out with that and decide what to do, changing the team in the way you want and imagining what happens in your career mode is actually real. Thinking about different scenarios and applying them. Maybe one of your best players wants to leave and you feel like you have a connection so you leave the club too and just watch as the fail to win anything..make connections to your favourite players and imagine stories of integrate real-life stories. So a player got charged in real-life?..don't play them for the next few games. A player irl doesn't want to sign a new contract with a team?..sell them in career too and try and connect real-life to fifa in a way you can get attached to. Career mode is very much an RPG where your players are your equipment and your role of manager is to complete different quests that the board sets out for you. Start at a low team and your promotions are your levelling up moments or quitting your low team and going to a bigger team is your levelling up moment. Just try and get attached to things and make the adjustments you think you need, to reflect real life.

    • @henrythomas7472
      @henrythomas7472 10 лет назад +3

      Wow, that actually made me think about career mode so differently, be cool if you also started a career at the beggining of the real life season and compared results with the ones in real life

    Personally, I love seeing young talent get to high 80's and even 90 sometimes. I even sometimes edit a random team in the lowest divison in England and just add the best young talent (the players who grow the highest) onto that one team and play to the BPL and see how much they grow :D

  • @LuckyArrowftw
    @LuckyArrowftw 10 лет назад +48

    Career Mode is fun because there is so much to do. Games against the computer are more enjoyable than playing against real players.
    I'm the type of player that doesn't lose much online but when I do it's because: a) the connection, or b) as I'm defending, instead of marking an attacking player, the computer controlling my player decides to run forward and give space to an attacker.
    I'm playing as AFC Wimbledon (because I like their emblem) with a bunch of young talents like Januzaj and Meyer. I figure once I make it to the Premiere League, they'll be in the 80s or close to it.
    I recently won against Chelsea in the Captial One Cup Final 5-2 and I out-played them, something like 13 shots on goal to like 3 with the majority of the possession.
    Also, Career Mode is the only time I get to see my favorite team play well :'( (AC Milan)

    what they should implement is the fact that random players become world class. I understand it happens with some glitched players but it doesnt happen enough. Im not talking about randomly generated players, but it shouldnt be the same every career. Like one career mode depay is a flop and never fulfills his potential, and on the other hand someone like fredy guarin becomes one of the best midfielders in the world after several good seasons. it would keep the career mode interesting

  • @barj16
    @barj16 10 лет назад +12

    I try to make it as realistic as possible but i don't like using big teams like Barca as it feels that everything is done. Personally i also like to change teams in the same career mode, as staying with one team for 15 years is a killer.

    I hope for FIFA 15 they bring back the Be A Pro like it was before. I liked when you started at 16 you were in the reserve team and had to make your way up to first team football and captaincy. It's lost some of its shine this year. Career Mode needs to implement a Youth Academy League so when you bring in young talent instead of loaning them off they can develop in the Youth Team. Also, as the Manager we need to have more of a say in the club. I want them to bring back the situations like when there is a photoshoot and autograph event where you choose if the players can go or not and it effects the club morale and such. So many good things from older FIFAs need to be brought back for FIFA 15. Career Mode also needs to last longer. I went through all 20 seasons and they just cut you off after that.

    • @elephanteEd
      @elephanteEd 10 лет назад

      I agree with the photo shoot and other extras that put a positive or negative morale on the team. That was interesting.

    • @prmoseley
      @prmoseley 10 лет назад +1

      MrDolmioDay I don't know if you remember but all it was was an email from the club saying that a few players were going to do a charity event. You would choose whether they could go, only a few could go, or if none of them could go. It would then effect the team morale and fitness. It was a cool concept and gave the manager more decisions to make.

      ***** I feel like something similar to what they do in the NBA 2k14 my player mode (Next gen). It is so immersive and has a lot of different aspects to it. If something like that was implemented to FIFA i would not leave my xbox

    • @Daddiano
      @Daddiano 10 лет назад

      ***** I reckon if it was something quick and simple like you say then it wouldn't be too much and a great feature, instead morale just getting dropped because they think there getting replaced after being left out one match

    Players are decreasing to fast. It's kind of stupid actually because look at Zanetti or Pirlo or Ibrahimović who is getting better every season. I would say that when players hit age of 35 then they start to decrease by 2 ratings per season and dont give me that retirement crap at 34...i had Per Mertesacker at 29 years old 84 overall and he decreased in one season to 82...stupid.

    The most fun aspect of career mode to me is being able to transform smaller teams that normally don't get much attention into world class clubs and seeing how younger talented players on teams develop into stars. I currently manage a Barcelona B team series on my channel and I got into La Liga and signed some top young players (Januzaj, Lukaku, Delofeu came back etc...) but another great thing about Career Mode is you can choose to manage your own personal favorite team and see how you can help them win (for me that would be Arsenal or Inter Milan). There is just always something you can improve in career mode and that's what makes it so addicting, the only thing that can irritate me are people who think managing a team in real life is just as simple! That's a bit of a stretch to me lol but anyways you do a great job Mgh on your series's every year so props to you on that! I will watch your FIFA videos until the day you stop lol awesome channel.

    I always make one career mode with manchester united, because they are my favourite team. And i might buy players that were linked or rumoured to be in talks with manchester united. So i bought Reus and Gundogen. Then i bought players that i really love in real life, like Neymar and Pogba.
    After like a a season or if a get a little tired of that career mode, i make a career mode with a 3rd or 2nd division english club. I make it like a road to the EPL Premiership. I did it with the Wolves this year. You buy young, low rated players with high potentials and do what ever you can to make get promoted. I am currently in the EPL. I have $42 million and coming 9th in the EPL. My season objective was to place in the top 8 and win the capital one cup, that which i have done. I find this career mode so much more fun then the manchester united career mode.
    It's more fun, fighting for the win compared to winning 5-0 againts bayern munich on world class difficulty.

  • @fictionchris

    I only play Career Mode really, I tend to pick a lowish team and in the past have been Huddersfield, Bradford, Monaco, Derby, and am currently with Sevilla.
    My first season typically is me using loans and the odd purchase so I can compete and then hire scouts and send them out. In the next few seasons I like to sign lots of future stars into my youth academy and work them into games where possible.
    There's no fun for me in buying ridiculously good players, I like to produce them. :)
    Love these videos too! :)

    Or like me, you can have 3 to 4 career modes each with diff teams going on at the same time, that way you won't get bored from just one team or certain players, keep it fresh, and play the career mode u want to play on a particular day or night. Also I rarely see ppl playing at a difficulty level like WC or Legendary, so if you are on Pro screw that , it gets boring cause it gets easy, bump up the difficulty it will be challenging.

    I really like career mode since I don't play online in fifa, but I do have a couple of problems with it
    A.) Some of the transfers that happen are completely unrealistic, which gets annoying considering how it makes the career mode less realistic
    B.) the gameplay seems to get frustrating at times. One game my players are playing amazing, the next game they play like a pile of wank.
    C.) The AI are like gods. I've tried multiple sliders but none of them seem to work. I vary between world class and legendary yet the AI still have god like qualities

  • @HenriqueAthayde
    @HenriqueAthayde 10 лет назад +2

    I think the fun part of any career mode is challenge. You challenge yourself and it doesn't matter if you're with a big team or a small team, if you have challenges, you'll have fun. Also is very cool to see the players developing, or seeing that player you thought wasn't that good being great, or seeing that great legend playing poorly. But EA could definitely work on some stuff to make the career mode experience a lot better.

    I love long career modes because you really see your team devoloping. Especially with smaller teams as it also is a challenge to get your team to a 80+ rating. Often I try not to buy the usual young players who get really strong. I love to scout new talent and incorporate youth players. For me career mode is the most fun game mode to play. Once I build a team only with players that were previously or are still at my club. I played as Basel and could build a really strong team with for example Xherdan Shaqiri, Ivan Rakitic and Granit Xhaka.

    What I do before I start another career mode after I've done one with my favorite team is research and find out more about another the teams' history. For example, I wanted to try and do a South American career mode. So I researched about what past great teams there are and found out about Racing of Argentina. Create a story in your game, even if it's just for yourself. Just playing the matches is half the fun in a career mode.

    I have experimented with the sliders that makes games really open and can go either way depending on how well I take chances. Its so much better than standard settings where you can't hold the ball for longer than 1 second before being pressured..

    Great video Matt, i personally love Career mode to death, it's the main reason i buy FIFA every year, and don't usually play UT. Also i'm a Bayern supporter :D so great video.
    I started a manager career mode with Stoke, decided to try their 4-5-1 formation with a direct play, some of the best fun i've had in a career mode. Mid-table/low premier league teams are a lot of fun, i'd definitely advise it.

    I like to take a mid table team with some potential and making them the best in the league in a few years (no fund upgrades or shit like that). I also sim all games caus that how a manager in real life does it, he never plays

    I have always loved career mode. I started with FIFA 09 and have never lost interest in it.
    Especially if you get sacked. Moving to different clubs and building a non-top flight club to the top flight is very cool. Also, scouting, signing, and building up players is loads of fun.
    Anyone can take Man City, Bayern, or Barcelona, etc, and kick the games' ass.
    It is a LOT more fun taking an Everton, 1860 Munich, or Villareal and trying to turn them into a powerhouse.

    In previous FIFA games, I found giving challenges to yourself helps, for example, and buy English players, only use scouted players etc.
    Also have multiple careers like Matt said, I had a Road to Glory with York City, a fun career with Borussia Dortmund.
    Ultimate Team can be fun, but connection issues and the infamous scripting ruins it I think.

    Buy the players you like is most important IMO. I was playing as RM and ended up with a defence of Kolarov, Hangeland, Vertonghen and Danilo... Because I like them, makes game more fun

    Exactly, it's all about realism for me, most of the time at least.I usually have one long term career mode each year, where i try to complete full 15 seasons, buying you players and regens while simming A LOT.then once in a while i do fun career modes with big teams like right now I have my rtg with Palermo and a fun one with Barcelona.
    And like you said, i also like to play like the team im using.with Barca i obviously play possession and i bought David Silva and David Luiz, who fit in perfectly.and I also like to think like it's real life, for example when I was playing a CL guarter final the other day, i imagined myself watching the game on tv and the headlines on newspapers after the match and stuff like that

    The thing i don't like about career mode, is that it can be very repetitive with the same teams buying the same players, the AI doesn't really play with the teams real life style of play, exceptions being barca etc. I think you should be able to have coaches to help improve your team and adapt the players to play in your style and tactic, for example getting a coach with good technique and passing training to improve the passing of a CB

    I just love how you can put your own twist on a career mode, you can take an upcoming team and invest in some young talent, like on my own bradford city video's, however it does turn me off it when players who wouldnt leave clubs leave them and also when players like pirlo decrease so quickly, a trait on the good older players to keep them from decreasing so fast would be nice to see, Personally I hate seeing generic career mode where they get the typical and obvious youngsters (bakkali) that's why i like watching mgh, and try to make it as realistic on my own videos

    If players in fifa would start to go down first at the age of around 33 it would take fun of the game cos carrer mode is about rebuilding, making from young prospects best players and creating clubs destiny thats what carrer mode is all about

    I'm more into teams that are usually in between 4th to 8th place such as everton, wolfsburg (currently having an amazing career mode with them), cos these teams are realistically good enough to win more matches then they lose (winning is fun right?) and take a shorter time to build than lower teams (yeah im pretty impatient haha).

    I don't mean to get ahead of things, but here's an idea: When you are finished with Reading, Wolves and ManU, start MLS career mode. Pick a club like LA Galaxy and play just like a MLS club would do: Buy elders from European clubs, scout youngsters from N-America and Mexico etc. This might get boring due to lack of CONCACAF championship and drafts, but should be interesting for couple of seasons. Please people let me hear what you think!

    another thing would be to play the games on a difficulty where you are challenged to win and sometimes lose if you're a top team like chelsea or real madrid. it is a lot more interesting to play the career mode when you have to play your best to beat the other team, and it isn't so boring with a 5 or 6 nil match (obviously they could still happen).

    I find career mode fun when I try and get teams in lower leagues eg league and making them good teams but also because managing a team and playing the CPU on world class and having to get cheap players because of the tight schedule but generally its better than playing others on UT with fake teams not actual teams and just love it.

    To me, career mode is exciting when you get to like 5-6 in, where there´s a lot of new generated stars, and then i just find it entertaining to take a low league team to the top.Just because i get such a wonderful feeling when i gain promotion or win silverware and other stuff.

    I really enjoyed my Everton career mode on FIFA13. I saw a potential in the team. A really mixture of young, talented players, and older and more experienced players who fit the type of football I want to play. I decided to go with a 3-4-3 formation where I brought in 2 young wingers with pace and skills. I also bought Adryan. when he was 17 years old. I made him central attacking midfielder in my starting-lineup and I also gave him the responsability to be captain. Yes, when he was 17.
    I thereby played a couple of decent seasons with 4th place in the 3 first of them. I developed a young team. I sold older players and brought in new, young talents for my future plans. After a while I won the league title and since my team played well, they grew up to become the best team I've ever played with, and even seen in FIFA career mode.
    I ended up gathering over 100 million sterlings (pounds) and a team with overall around 86. Adryan got to 96 and he was, from the first season, my amazing captain.
    The best season was when I won Premier Leauge, Champions leauge, capital one cup, copa europa and The FA cup in one season.
    I am more of a "grow youngsters" kind of manager. I like to develop a great team from the bottom and reach the top.
    I had the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Messi, Reus, Courtois, Iturbe, Gundogan and so on throughout my career as Everton manager.
    And then the day came.....I had to retire as manager. It was weird, cause it was the first time I'd actually finished a career mode where I couldn't play more seasons..
    It was so fun that I wanted to keep on, but the 16 seasons had gone.
    My days as manager was over, and it was an emotional last day at work. Looking at my own, developed and self-trained group of youngsters, holding the Premier Leauge title for the last time with me as manager. I loved the crowd, the supporters, my players and coaches.
    Hope you liked my little story from my best fifa memory! :)

    a great idea that i always do is start with a 4th division team in England, sell EVERYONE that's over 19 or so, hire 3 youth scouts, and create a team from all the scouted players. it takes about a season to change the team completely but then it's a brand new team that you gotta work with that you don't know as much about as a team already in the game.
