- Hand-feeding a magpie some rock-melon which is in-turn feeding it's baby. UPDATE The magpie appears to be a male, and so is probably the father and NOT the mother - (heading changed accordingly)
Magpie parents are very patient. I would lose it if I heard that all day.
HA HA HA. ID RATHER HEAR THAT THAN THOSE NOISY CROWS THAT THROW TANTRUMS. THEY ARE SHOCKING. I WISH THE CROWS HERE WOULD ALL GET LOST AND FLY AWAY.
@@zennabella1676 to me crows are alright the crows in our backyard dont throw tantrums. I would rather listen to that baby magpie than some screaming and crying babys in a shopping center today
I listen to this everyday. I have a rescued fledgeling and feed it live insects.
I sometimes lose it hearing it all day, for real.
They go off only when their parents are nearby
I love how the baby is still crying even as the food is being swallowed
“You’re damn near bigger than me, junior! Catch your OWN food!”
Ahahahahahaha
Lol they are so demanding, I love how it makes mum pick up the food it drops , I have some at my place too, I hope it grows up big and strong,
I think it was too big for it to swallow
0:40 ''Pick up that can''
Best daddy in the birds world 😊
There’s a juvenile I feed in my backyard, it’s funny when the parent is around he starts squawking like that and even opens his mouth really wide like he wants me to put the food in his mouth.
That is one hungry bubba bird !!!! Absolutely loving the rockmelon. What a good daddy bird. Gorgeous clip...thanks for posting
Sally
He fathers like “Help me please”
This is lovely ! We had a male and female pair of magpies (the male has a pure white neck ; females have some gray shading on their neck) with two young ones nest in our yard. One day a rival magpie killed the female with a swooping stab to the chest and the father was left with two chicks. Only 3 days later to our sorrow one of the young ones had vanished too. One day the father brought the remaining baby inside our home right into our kitchen and looked up at me as if to say you feed a cat and a dog why not us ? I got a wee bit of chicken, some cheese for calcium and gave it to him and he fed his baby. Now "Baby" as we still call her/him (not sure yet) 4 months later comes in side herself and carries the food outside and drops it where her dad feeds her !!! lol . We have lots of earth worms in our garden so I always keep some handy and we keep a patch of dandelions, clover and grass to grow long to encourage lots of grubs moths and blue butterflies ; a sort of breakfast bar for birds :) . I tried rock melon with ours which was firmly rejected ,but they also sneak in some uncooked rice and oats for our pigeons. It is a myth that birds can't eat uncooked rice ;rice is simply the seed of the grass species and birds all around the world eat it !
OMFG don't feed birds cheese... unless perhaps you want to kill them! In that case, consider a more effective poison. You can read and it would take you 30 seconds of research googling "what not to feed birds", you already researched how to tell m from f so why do you want to torture/kill animals with your ignorance? How would you like if we start to feed you things that make you constipated and rot you from the inside out? 🤮 some of you are sick people... leave bird care to the experts.
People commenting about the mother thats a male doing the feeding could be dad or an older brother , also do'nt feed them to much they need calcium to help bone growth they get from the insect exoskeletons , liver is a good option as it has a lot of minerals high in vitamin c good for the immune system I had a young magpie with magpie pox in my garden I feed him liver ever 2nd day and he was able to fight it off
These youngsters like European crows are so demanding of the most amazingly patient parents .Then comes the no more moment .Eevn when they can feed themselves they remain demanding until totally ignored .OR the parent walks away . Always amazing to watch :)👍
Before the swooping season start they love us😂
If there's more than one baby it's best to wear ear plugs!
HA HA HA.
VERY GOOD. I HAVE THEM HERE TOO. I HAVE A FAMILY OF THEM. I DONT FEED THEM BY HAND THOUGH. I THROW FOOD OUT FOR THEM. AND I WATCH ONE OF THE MAGPIES FEEDING ANOTHER ONE JUST LIKE THIS. THE YOUNG SURE MAKE FUNNY SQUEALING SOUNDS. ITS FUNNY HOW THE YOUNG ONE BEING FED IS THE SAME SIZE AS THE PARENT.
Like a human baby. Drops the food then cries about it. lol
baby = mother in size, man they grow up too fast
They have to. Only humans takes so much time to not be so dependable in their parents.
@@victuz elephants too.
We have this happening in our garden in the UK
Youngster is so demanding and loud 😅
I have a baby magpie that i found in our garden :)
Been feeding it for 2 weeks now more or less :)
They eat every 30 minutes
I feed it with a pincer
Make sure he gets enough room for exercise and one day goes his own way
Familiar sight in our back yard. They even recognise my car when I get home.
They love mince
The magpie seems very clever as it has divided the first bite of food for the chick.. I see other smaller birds deliver oversize food for their chicks never try to divide it may be small birds do not have such skill .
Corvid family is smarter than other birds.
@@victuz Australian Magpies are not Corvids, they are part of the Artamidae family. European Magpies are Corvids though
@@mikenolan2349 Ahhh this is interesting, thanks for letting us know. Well I suspected they looked a little different for corvids.
I find my local magpie prefers bacon than rock melon lol
The baby is bigger than mom.
HA HA.
Every morning a crow duo do the same thing outside my window😂
Magpie father: alright listen. See that kid over there? Yeah that's my son. The eldest in the family. He won't shut up unless I give him something. So could you help a Magpie out? Thanks mate.
Alright you loud squawking microphone here's ya bloody meal. I nearly had to snatch it off them so be tha- and they want more. How do you humans deal with your children?
0:39 really cute
Rockmelon is a curious thing to feed them but it appears to be successful.
Baby magpie is bigger than adult magpie
that's a bottomless pit, angsty teen birb
Very interesting the chick made mum to pick the food from the floor .. is it a skill that the chicks had not learned yet?
I find the begging sound of the baby magpie rather cute although noisy.
Would you like to hear the most annoying sound in the world?
bird in the background seems jealous
Damn that baby magpie is noisy as hell
This looks exactly the same as the magpies that visit my backyard :D
Je crois que c'est la mère...
happy father's day
This is adorable
Yet soo annoying
0:25 so funny and sounds like he is muted
可愛い😂❤
Wow.. Incredible...
Poor mom magpie ,she's run off her feet !!
how long did it take you to get his trust to take from your hand?
It didn't take long. Just kept throwing the food closer and closer to me, but you need to be very still. They are very smart birds and are very aware of their surroundings, and any tiny movement they will see as a threat and back off.
SOMEONE ON FACEBOOK POSTED UP THAT SHE WAS FEEDING A BUTCHER BIRD AND IT WAS A YOUNG ONE AND IT BIT HER FINGER DOWN TO THE BONE. A BIT RISKY FEEDING THEM BY HAND I GUESS, BUT I THINK IT WOULD BE VERY RARE ONE WOULD BITE THE FINGER LIKE THAT LADY ON FACEBOOK SAID HERS DID. MAYBE IT WAS ACCIDENTAL BUT STILL....
The tips of their beaks are very sharp and if they decide to pinch you or take a stab they will draw blood but I don’t think they have the strength to do that kind of damage.
How can you tell it is father?
It has much brighter white especially around the head area compared to the female which comes around occasionally
@@JohnGreco1 its a female.. Males have white backs
Just so cute!!!
a wonderful video!
How cute
you have answeed a question for me , i must have 3 girls lol
Sounds like a little baba i had to rescue a Maggie once
That was so cool !
🙏
❤😊
You shouldn’t hand feed them, you don’t want them to learn to get too close to humans because not all humans love them. You can place the food and walk away from it.
That makes sense,
부모의 마음,,
모성애.

Mother magpie.
Others here have noted that the lack of grey on the back of the neck suggests that this is in fact a male. I had assumed it was the mother also...
@@JohnGreco1 All good mate. Either way bloody noisy and hungry little bub 👍
Daddy....No grey on the neck 😊
