Interface UART
Protocol: MSP
Working Range: 8cm -200cm
Field of view: 42 degree(PMW3901), 27 degree(VL53L0X)
Minimum Illumination 60Lux
Input voltage: 4.5 - 5.5V

Size: 36X13mm (L051 version) 2g
Packing
Module 3901-L0X, 1pc
Tips
Make sure Optical Flow lens to ground is more than 2cm for opflow initialization while FC starting up.
Maximum range of VL53L0X is 2m, Altitude hold 0~2m @ throttle 0-100% if VL53L0X is enabled.
Any unused UART of FC supports it
Sonar connection (Trig & Echo) has not been implemented
If your flight controller doesn’t have a barometer detected, you won’t be able to select “NAV ALTHOLD” in modes tab.

this sensor is not the px4flow+distance sensor, and it works only under 2 meters (lidar max distance). What the settings I need to do in Arducopter to use it? Thank you
Hi Sir, thanks for the video. Do you know if PIxhawk support this sensor ?
Not that I know of
Hello, thanks for the video. Could you please tell me which flight controllers can I use this sensor with GPS and position hold?
basically any flight controllers with two free uart as this module and gps both uses uart. for example you can use speedybee f7 v3 .I hope this helps.please stay tuned to my channel for my future videos
@@AstroShootingStars thanks mate. For now I bought the crossflight running ardupilot. Let see If It Will work fine.
Also how accurate is this? In other words 1 mm.01 mm.001 mm?
With this wired to a UART, all that's left to do is configure ALT HOLD/POS HOLD in Inav? Does this mean this can be used instead of a GPS unit with compass?
its technically not a replacement as at higher altitude this will not work. GPS give coordinates but its still not that accurate and depending upon the number of satellites connected it will vary on its accuracy and compass gives the orientation. for postion hold you need this sensor and barometer at lower height and it will hold postion and altitude. but at higher heights it needs GPS and only GPS can give its absolute postion so its not replecement but helps to hold its current postion at lower height. I hope this helps. Please stay tuned to my channel for my future videos.
Hello, how do you activate it in flight ? Which mode on Inav do you use to activate it ? Does it work with plane ? Thanks !
As of now its only supported in inav you can connect it to uart and select the option for optical flow sensor. you can use it for alt hold and pos hold.I hope this helps. Please stay tuned to my channel for my future videos
no Arducopter support?@@AstroShootingStars
Hi i need help connecting this sensor to arduino
Sure my friend my next series is about custom flight controller. Please stay tuned to my channel for my future videos
If I were you I would start with explaining what optical flow is
I understand my friend. I will note it for my future video. Just quick info it works very similar to optical pc mouse which detects the movement along with direction. Hence its perfect for postion hold. I hope this helps. Please stay tuned to my channel for my future videos
Sounds good and will do!
@@AstroShootingStars I love your very explicit videos;
I installed the lidar matek on the other hand it does not hold it tends to go down slowly and when I increase the throttle it goes up like an arrow can you tell me what it can come from?
You can debug it from the backbox sensor data. I guess the problem could be vibration or excessive heat which could lead this. The controller get the postion data from onboard barometer and mateksys sensor both in combination with accelerometer and gps data to hold altitude and position. The sensors data could be oscillating due to which its slowly comming down. I hope this helps.
@@AstroShootingStars don't have GPS I only activate ALT HOLD SURFACE
