I drive one 5 days a week for my Sheriffs Dept. Shocked to see theres not more videos of trans vans.
The light on the side door is a bad idea. When the door opens the light is shining directly in the CO's face and would ruin any night-vision the officer would have and also put him in an serious disadvantage when looking into that compartment. The light should be mounted on the side and out of where people's faces will be. Just my two cents.

@@Kaiyats Yes, natural night vision. The eyes adjust to low-light to allow you to see better when it is dark. When you blast a bunch of light into adjusted eyes, you get blinded temporarily. It's easy to test the effect yourself.

The siren amplifier "box" is remotely mounted, all you see are some switches on the dash.
I absolutely love this Nissan Van Prisoner Vehicle. This is one of the best prisoner transport vehicles I have ever seen and very nice set up with the auto turn on/off lights on the side and back and the three separate compartments for male, female, and juvenile prisoner transport all at the same time. Very nice set up. Plus, the unmarked feature where you aren't drawing attention to yourself when transporting, especially outside of your jurisdiction which happens quite often when going to and from court is an excellent idea. Super nice install and set up.

Please keep showing the front section of the vehicles. I love seeing the 2 way radio and other equipment.
also the monitor should have been mounted in the middle of the dash for the driver or passenger to look at. I dig to though.
Did a few of those kinds of installs back in my working days.

Wonder why the camera monitor is not at the passenger side . There is always 2 officers involved in transports.
That'd make the backup camera angle a bit awkward for the driver to see. This is the position the agency requested the monitor to be in. With the extra wire that's been tucked away it wouldn't be to much work involved to move it to the center.
The small side compartment will probably be better served putting arrestees property. I would have added some better side lighting.

Mecklenburg County, NC started adding the Ford Transit paddywagons. The Chevrolet Express is still the stronghold paddywagon in the fleet.

I would've used that side compartment for storage and not prisoner seating.
Why is the comparment on the right broken into 3 and 2 instead of just 5 like the one on the left?
It allows for separation if there's a necessity.
What kind of flashlight is by the passenger side attached to the center console and where can I get it.

Universal; part number SNBKT1. Its included with our SNSP1.
You could put a dog in the smallest prisoner space too.
I'd say a 1.5L diesel would be enough to haul a few people from A to B. IT's not quite a chase vehicle, no?
For such a large vehicle and especially with large steel compartments inside it might not be enough uphill. Also for whatever reason commercial US vehicles rarely have small displacement engines.
