I could only imagine how funny it would be to have been sitting at a red light and have a SWAT armored truck roll up with Jay Leno chillin in the drivers seat.
Joe Dalton I like these vids :)

CHHHEEEAAAAA!
For all of the ignorant people that are saying that police dont need this, this vehicle is for a S.W.A.T team which stands for Special Weapons And Tactics, you don't see these vehicle patroling the streets, these are for extreme situations such as and active shooter in a school, hostage situations, etc. Take the North Hollywood shootout as an example. And if you think these vehicles are to "military like" for the police, take a look a russian swat vehicles
I used to drive these in the military. So much room inside and really comfortable and even had racks for our M4's. I love these.
12:20 Jay was left hangin' but he handled it wonderfully.
Drove these while in the Air Force. Such a fun vehicle to drive.
Only Jay could get away with so many donut jokes lol.
I'm pretty sure anybody could if they had the common sense to recognize that police officers are EMPLOYEES of "taxpayers" and they're just CIVILIANS like the rest of us. A lot of them don't know that but more and more of them are learning that. Some the "easy" way and some the "hard" way. Definitely not a fun time regardless finding out you're NOT God and you WORK FOR THE "CIVILIANS" YOU THINK YOU OWN AND CONTROL.
"Or a bearclaw or whatever" haha nice save
The vehicle has actual "donut holes."
DEEREMEYER1 police know they are civilians and they are extremely patient and respectful.
Anybody can get away with those jokes. Police officers are almost always extremely nice and have a good sense of humor.
These are built for MAXIMUM SECURITY DOUGHNUT TRANSPORTATION!
haha😂😂
+Ryan Pearson (GOPHERS223) LOLLLLLOLOLOLOO
+Ryan Pearson (GOPHERS223) No, these are built to terrorize US citizens. Watch and learn.
Andrew_Owens Wow way to kill a good joke
Lmfaoeof
Triple glazed !😉😆😂
You can tell that cop is not feeling the donut jokes
Must be a dork or something 😑
Thanks Donut, for this video recommendation.
Drove one of these in the Marines. Loved it, really fun to drive
Until the criminals start building Taliban style IEDs.
@@ATOMIC_V155 The know how is online or in books like the US Army's improvised munitions manual and all the materials are at Lowe's and Home Depot.
@@djp1941 Reported to the FBI 😁
@@2jzandys444 Thank you I'll wear that report like a badge of honor.
@@djp1941 Give me a list of books? The Anarch's cookbook is already on my computer.
Does it have bullet proof tires. Did you opt for tire smoke upgrade?
+Highlight Reel I think you can just go to the local garage and install neon in a matter of seconds as well....oh wait... was thinking of GTA
+Highlight Reel Red white and blue tire smoke is standard issue on these.
+The Benzo Effect hahahha
+Highlight Reel Another question would be, how many sticky bomb explosions can it take?
+Highlight Reel ha ha ha! gta 5?
I have nothing better to do between calls at work than watch your show. It is keeping me a wake. THANK YOU :D
It's nice to see that officer is really excited and enthusiastic about his job!!! Lol!
Lol
That roza was so unimpressed lol, well funny Jay, u can actually see him sigh when Jay mentions the bar to entertain ladies in the back..... Legend
What an awesome resource for SWAT teams and the citizens of Los Angeles.I hope that vehicle contributes to the saving of many lives during its time in service, and successfully assists in the speedy resolution of dangerous and traumatic acts of tragic desperation. What a privilege and responsibility it would be, to be assigned to drive a SWAT designated vehicle such as that.
That thing is radical. Cool to see one in depth like that
100 feet per gallon
Get your facts straight...
It's 100 gallons per foot.
LOL
Pig🍩🍩🔫🔫🚓🚓
Tristan Meadows Yep,hilarious!
One gallon per foot per cubic inch. Just how tanks run.
@@karlalarias1964 What's wrong? Don't like your DUI?
The comment sections on videos dealing with automotive topics or anything dealing with the police are truly disturbing. The only people who have to worry about the police are those who are breaking laws. Dont break the law or act like a dipshit and you will never have to deal with the police, simple as that. The police are not out to get you people, if you believe they are then you need help.
or if they are black or if the cop feels like abusing the law because he knows he can get away with it. or play judge of course.
*****
I pity you and your ignorant mind.
On paper, it's the case. But it does happen that officers got biases, and it does happens that some officers lack training, and they are different organizational issues and social issues to that job...
I am not saying you are wrong, just that's your view is a bit simplistic.
***** True
Yeah, that's what people said when the Nazis came to power. People need to speak to power and tell them the militarization of the popo is a huge NO NO. F this guy.
Full sized donut port...hahahaha miss u jay......
My dept got one of these in about 2017. We drove the hell out of it. It really performed well. Acceleration was impressive. Brakes were equally impressive. Then, the engine blew. Lenco was baffled. They had to towed to a local commercial engine shop. They stood by it & installed an entire new engine, no issues. LOL, the new engine didn't perform nearly as good as the original. Maybe they "Governed" it !! Still pretty damn nice vehicle. We took it to MIlwaukee on Mutual Aid during some riots there & made two life saved of citizens who were majorly injured by thrown bricks that hit them in their heads. Like hei guy said, it became a 'Hot Zone" Paramedic unit. I especially liked the turret. Stood on a floor mounted raised platform & could pivot the turret shield 360 degrees while having rifle out the portal. Great vantage point. They are worth every penny.
i litterally can see two thugs, staring a hostage situation in a bank. one is looking out of the window, sees THIS beast rolling towards him:
"ay boss, whats comming over there?"
"Trouble...."
The ignorance of the comments is so disturbing. This SWAT vehicle is used in counter terror ops and serious treat. Local police, and sheriff departments are the first to respond to any serious situation, why would they not have special weapons and gear to take out serious treats as fast and as efficient as possible? Do you want the military to be the ones patrolling the streets? I rather have normal citizens who answered the call to serve, instead of federal or military patrolling down my street.
+NEPTUNE117 Can I have some of those seriously tasty treats also? :P
Driver6M I don't get it.
+Driver6M haha that typo! Sorry
+Fell Man I put treat instead of threat lol
Sheeple
jay's a savage for hitting him with the donut joke.
Jay with the donut access hole was hilarious.
Donut Operator sent me.
8:42 Jay cracked me at that one lol
Im sure streamers see those trucks often.
LOL
Protecting and Serving the SHIT out of you!
donut operator brought me here
he said "usually I'm in the back of one of these"
Whoa....funny, Jay reaches hand out of a side port opening and asks for a donut. Lol. Crack me up.
I was watching an idiot get crushed by a bearcat and somehow ended up w you in my recomendations
The door could have a simple slide down section that hits the floor and now you have a full shield.
RUclips recommended me this after watching DonutOperator's vid lmao
Same
Jay threw the donut joke at 4:15 hahaha
Did anyone notice that the top turret was left open when they were driving XD
+MyFavoriteNightcore2014 Probably to let more air in.
+MyFavoriteNightcore2014 As they said, so they can hear whats going on outside.
Now THAT is 'Built Ford Tough'! Tyvm...
The cop joke: " You could fit donuts through the door hole"
awesome - love the power and feel of this MONsTER ! thanks for posting Mr. Leno :)
Doughnut operator brought me here
I would love to see one of those going through the McDonald's drive-thru using the port to pay and get their food
9:45 I was laughing my ass off haha
Keep up the awesome vids!
Love the camera used to film this one. great quality
This video is so wholesome
i love lapd swat!!!!!!! they are the best swat team I know
Why are people so afraid of our police? This vehicle is for their own safety. It can't hurt anyone else.
Thanks Donut operator
The turbo works off of the exhaust. Its like two little fans in baskets, the exhaust of the engine spins one fan and the other fan connected to it spins also, but it forces air into the intake. It has nothing at all to do with the transmission, auto or standard. Hope this helped, and theres a lot of videos on youtube about how turbos work also.
It's so awesome Jay can't make the swat guy smile. He must be a Letterman man...
jeez people in LA must be quite dangerous if a vehicle like this is needed. and i thought a russian practice blasting with a rocket launcher in the back yard was scary!
No, the cops are just pussies.
THANKSGIVING
You gotta buy that Bear Cat Jay when it goes to auction and put a super charged Merlin in it.
laughed at Jay "or we're doing a Broadway showww" and the guy didn't even smile
OCP coming to Detroit.
Sad.
"...Grab the donut 🍩 😋.."
We have mood lights
"...hey it's a party van.."
Donut Operator sent me here.
me too
Our local PD purchased a new LE model not too long ago.
I have sat inside front and back and looked all around it. Amazing vehicle.
If this vehicle is coming for you, it is time to give up, you will have no chance.
I believe this vehicle weighs about 16,000-18,000 lbs. F550 based chassis
Later this year, the Lenco BearCatSharkWolf is set to debut...
RPG magnet.
There are RPGs in LA now?
Maybe a few........
If I ever saw one of these pull up in my driveway I'm already on the ground, even before the officer yells " police!" 😂😂😂
What's with all the "police state" comments? Shit goes down in LA, as we saw a couple weeks ago with the LAX shooting...
The set-up you mean? Police don't need these vehicles, the Army does.
Unfortunately we do live in police state here in America, and it's bad, This does not however mean that all cops are bad people or have bad intentions. The situation is much more nuanced then that, people hate that, they want a black and white easy to understand world. LA is tough and i understand the need for a vehicle like this, It is a good thing to keep officers safe. It's just when and how this machine will be used. Same situation with the NSA, some of what they do is good and keeps us safe, it's the insane potential for abuse of power however that scares people.
Because people are fucking stupid, just ignore it.
***** I guess you forgot about Christopher Donner or what ever his name was.
Please tell me.
love the steadyburn LED light!
I was absolutely sure they will run over a Prius in this thing:) until they didnt:(
I know, you'd think they'd treat this like a warzone since that is war equipment.
I kept feeling like he wanted to say DONT TOUCH THAT
Jay seems smashed!
"you could fit a full size donut through here" rofl
Donut sent me!
(Cont'd) As a nobody, a mere face in the crowd, I appreciate a tour of this short, although I'm not really on board, for security reasons, of showing too much over the waves. I'm of the loose lips, sink ships generation. So although I'm pleased to be shown such a video, I'm not really on board truthfully in showing it for security reasons.
And I though the US Army FED was a monster...
And I thought I wouldn't see that tank again after I left a warzone, finished my time, and came home.
@@ChrisTopherBunnell Thank you for your service
Love the way Jay makes light of a very serious vehicle😀 much to the chagrin of the most serious man on the planet😂😂
haha, love all the donut jokes. I was hoping he'd go for the donut/bacon combo.. prob not a good idea though
Jay don't think the SF officer thought much of your donut joke, to bad. Thanks for the videos & info.
"full size donut"! Lmao. ha ha ha
We had a few of these at the boston bombing. They are amazing.
13:24 I don't think I have ever felt a waste gate lol
Lol that patch job at 5:58. These cops and swat people are such preschoolers in their personalities. Just give them an identity and they’ll cling like barnacles
If you notice jay was kinda making fun of the police
Amazing Lenco
I imagine a SWAT van pulling up to Mcdonalds. The back opens up and the whole team storms Mcdonalds for a burger.
Leno has great humor!
He reminds me of Stone Cold Steve Austin.
*****
xD YUP!!!!!
They need a STEAM powered Swat vehicle :)
He liked it way more then the FED.
Honestly, Bearcat is such a cute name for that beast
"Disc brakes all around" were you expecting drums? Lol
+FutureMarinecuv902 Discs on heavy vehicles such as trucks or armored vehicles aren't common. Drums still dominate the heavy truck market, although they are specially designed versions that minimize issues with drum brakes. Discs are slowly gaining popularity despite added costs to fleet operators. They do perform better, which is why the Bearcat has them. Braking is important for rapid response situations.
Not much a sense of humour on this cop. Jeez.
Not everyone can be a comedian :D
Andrew Blewski He laughed at the donut joke and did not come across as an obnoxious macho-type cop. He is good-natured and forthcoming throughout the interview. And, intelligent. If you were in a tight spot you could do worse than have this guy, and this vehicle, backing you up.
yeah, I've never seen Jay so nervous.
The LEO has probably heard the donut reference almost as often as Jay has heard big chin jokes. Funny for the first 1000 times.
He might be a little nervous about being on camera.
lol why do i feel like Jay is steppin to this guy.
Because a so cool police vehicle isn't in Japan, this feeling is dramatically cool by the police vehicle, isn't it?
Here from donut?
This swat officer seems to know his car stuff
Damn that’s such a badass vehicle to drive thur the city 💯😎👍🏼
imagine if the police needed this while jay was in it and he had to particapate in it lolz
The cop is thinking: "Make another doughnut joke and I'm going to pop you in the temple."
Jay you should get one for your self.
These were used yesterday...
Sad.
What. A. Unit!
These are sch a huge improvment on the armoured humvees we have. More room, simple interior, easier for tall people to move around inside without climbing over all the crap unside a humvee
need this type of car when going to the hood...nobody will even try to f with you
1.dont be a coward 2.dont piss off entire neighborhoods.
“It’s like square dancing with a fat lady, that fact it dose it at all is pretty amazing” Lol the cop even laughed a lil.
Love you Jay!
At 4:10 a full size donut thru the gun port hahaha
