- ET was behind the scenes of ‘Star Trek: Voyager’s final episode, which aired 20 years ago. In these rare interviews from 2001, Jeri Ryan and Kate Mulgrew reflected on how much they laughed on set over the years. Ryan joked about how she’s not going to miss Seven of Nine’s costume or her Borg makeup. Mulgrew praised the ‘unexpected’ manner in which Captain Kathyrn Janeway brought the Intrepid class ship back to Earth in the series finale, ‘Endgame.’ We’ll see Starfleet’s number one coffee hound again soon when ‘Star Trek: Prodigy’ premieres later this year on Paramount+. All 7 seasons of ‘Star Trek: Voyager,’ as well as ‘Star Trek: Picard,’ which features Ryan reprising her iconic role, are also streaming on Paramount+.

Jeri Ryan is radiant...in so many ways. Alive, intelligent, warm and real, not to mention stunningly beautiful. She played her role as Seven to perfection. She didn't need a catsuit and corset to capture viewers, I think it was stupid for the series to make her wear it. She rose above objectification with grace and brilliant acting, knowing how to play a perfect balance of toughness and vulnerability and portray the fading echoes of borg in a traumatized young human being, and the emerging human in a hive-minded borg that stole her childhood. Honestly think she was the very best character in the show, and her storyline touched me the most.
Yeah she's a wild one.
She no longer wears a catsuit in Picard and she was more emotional there.
There's absolutely nothing wrong with putting a beautiful woman in a tight outfit to show off her curves.. especially if it will boost ratings.
@@sureshmukhi2316She doesn't have the body she had 20 years ago either, so there's that.
@@stopthephilosophicalzombie9017 how do you know?
Maybe rename the title of this video, "Kate & Jeri discuss the series finale & 7 years of experiences on Voyager." Literally 5 seconds about Seven's costume.
You are correct, Jillian.
Indeed! Click bait! 😒😒😒
I didn't even notice that part of the title.
she mentioned a corset and the face make-up, that's about it, I think?
Proud to be a Trekkie
I really admire Jeri Ryan. She's got such a good-natured personality and seems so upbeat and happy. Every interview I see her in, she's laughing and very relaxed.
Pity about the jingoism.
@@beingsshepherd What do you mean? I didn’t know she said anything political.
@@femalesupremacistoverlord6800
She goes on USO tours to titillate the POTUS's stormtroops.
@@beingsshepherd Yes, gawd 4bid citizens speak up in a democracy!
@@unowen-nh9ov Where was I trying to silence anyone? I can make no sense of your reply.
I like the fact that Janeway got to break the timeline one last time.
I loved the ending. I watch it over and over
Harry: Don’t you want to go home?
Paris: I am home
That got me
Kim missed his family. Paris didn't have one to go back to, as his dad was a d*ck.
That single line epitomises the failure of the writers to develop Kims personality and story arc.
Thank you for posting this!! I LOVE VOYAGER!!❤❤❤❤
Jeri is so damn cool and an incredible actress. How she never became Hollywood A List I’ll never understand.
I think it might have smth to do with her ex husband
@@lemonade9629 What about him?
It could be because she is not a very good actress. Don't get me wrong - she was GREAT as seven-of-nine but have you seen her in any of her movies? A bit weak.
@@kaoskronostyche9939 Yes, why she's never stopped working for the last 30 years & only has 60 credits on IMDb. Thus far.
Have you seen what passes for A List in Hollywood these days?!
This is apparently missing from my diet of great TV. Fascinating, truly.
Seven Of Nine My Favourite Star Trek Character of All Time ❤
No one beats Spock.
I love Jeri Ryan’s character 7 of 9 , and the way she is developed throughout each season.
Jeri Ryan is an elegant and talented actress that I hope to see Jeri in many more shows!
I heartily advocate that Jeri continue on as Captain 7! This would be a fun and vibrant show!!!
🤗🤗🌹🌟✨✨
Such a great show. Great writing and character development. They all look like nice people as well.
Janeway aged beautifully and bold as ever I LOVE HER Character
Comedian called her Captain Katherine Goaway of the S.S. Helium.
Bravo!!!!! Applause 🎉🎉
You all did a fantastic job and I enjoyed watching every episode!
I have always been and always will be a devout Star Trek fan!!
🤗🤗🤗🎊🎊✨
It wasnt a secret that kate didnt get along with jeri at first but eventually, and quickly, respected jeri and her acting prowess of not just being a body.
From what I have read they have buried the hatchet and get a long pretty good now
The bodacious Borg babe uniform was perfection.
And we never will miss you BECAUSE Voyager is on CTV Sci-Fi channel each week with all the other Star Trek series. End Game was a very good ending to a series.
Jeri Ryan is one lovely woman and brought second life into the show. She was amazing
Love it!!!
The last episode of Voyager was so awesome!
Ever notice how so many sites like to show celebs time hasn't been kind to? They need to flip the script and take a look at Jeri! I've had a crush on her since I first saw her on Voyager and it's not gone away.
Jeri Ryan is an absolute beauty. Seven's costume did her figure a great justice.
I was 17 when Jeri first showed up on "Voyager", and once they put her in that silver catsuit, my attraction was nearly instantaneous. But shortly afterward, I stopped seeing Seven as a sex object, and I think some of her earliest episodes were a major contribution to that effect. For example, "The Raven" was her first show that really placed her in the center of the narrative, and she had to face rapidly-returning memories of her childhood assimilation, not to mention repressed guilt and anger over her parents' foolish decision to underestimate the Borg.
Ahh, Jeri. What a special woman.
Seven of Nine is a seriously underrated character brilliant 🤩
She’s got an amazing face
2001 is so nostalgic
“I won’t miss having rubber glued to my face.” Really what about Picard.
To be fair it had been 20 years since she said that.
Seven of Nine is now the CO Of the Enterprise ! What a great decision. Now she is in line of many legendary Captains !
her costume is on display at the trek museum in Vulcan alberta
Her costume really exhausted me !
i like seeing janeway in he fell to earth!
So beautiful….. I have been fan of Jeri Ryan since she starred as Dawn Smith in Nightmare In Columbia County, she played the sister of Shari Smith…. I also loved Jeri on the ABC Series Body of Proof…..
We need to acknowledge there are many miles. Fub
Jeri Ryan was born to play Seven of Nine.
lol. I remember a comicon where she said more. That after the wrap she couldn’t wait to burn that outfit.
Best Star Trek uniform across entire Series
Jeri is still hoooooooot today... What a nice smile, charm and sexy attitude
❤
I think my favorite character is Riker. The scene where he is trying to obtain information from an alien regarding picards death/whereabouts when he slams him into the wall, then back in his seat, then with the most dead pan expression he says: set a course for the X system, *face turns into a smile* warp six.
amazing scene.
I remember hating Riker in the beginning of the series. He grew on me.
It is a monument to a great series of series, that a character such as Seven of Nine can bring a robotic sense of being and development to a human level. We all see it, but it is truly remarkable how we are brought to earth by Sevens views, knowledge and logic. Coupled with the fact that Seven is stunningly beautiful, walks as poetry in motion, stuns everyone with her beauty, feminininty and does not have a clue just how attractive, sexy, and beautiful she is. A great part played very well by the outrageously gorgeous Jeri Ryan... LUVVIT...
Beautiful
Fun
A lot more could be said about her uniform than the corset and the rubber piece glued to her head! But it's best if I keep those to myself.
I have to catch up on Voyager episodes. It would be great to watch some episodes with a single female member of the cast or crew.
She must get asked about her catsuit attire all the time.At least she has a great sense of humor about it.
jeri is gorgeous
Kinda hard to rewatch s4 and s5 knowing that Mulgrew bullied Jeri every day those seasons
But who did they bring back? Mulgrew dissed original Janeway, without her she wouldn't have a career today.
What? Isn’t the majority of her interviews about the costume? How is any of this rare at all?
What I can't understand until this very day is why the BORG didn't invade Earth erlier. They had their Transwarp Channel there ready to assimilate the Alpha Quadrant...
When all she says is "I won't miss the corset and the facepiece", I wouldn't really call that an "inverview about Seven's uniform".
How much more was there to say?!
The outfit has nothing to do with it. It is the woman wearing it. Jeri is a stunningly attractive woman who made the Borg HOT.
Best TV series of all time
Everyone swooned over Seven but for me Captain Janeway was the one for me especially when the hair came down from the bun ooooweee take me away Captain Janeway 😩
Although I wasn’t the biggest fan of the ending like why did they go with that ending not at least showing what became of the crew once they got home
@@1D4ever saw your reflection in the mirror huh 🤔
Realistically the crew would be debriefed then reassigned to different posts, the Voyager ship would be decommissioned to study and preserve as a historic monument.
Jeri Ryan - resistance is futile!
The ONLY reason Star Trek Voyager was good, and lasted so long, was Jeri Ryan (Seven) and Robert Picardo (the Doctor)!!! They were the Penny and Sheldon (TBBT) of the series!!!
one of my favorites is the black and white 1930s serial Cliffhanger version: Star Trek: Voyager S5 E12: "Bride of Chaotica!" how sci-fi started out. 🥰 cool. now I need to get some old movies.
and Jeri Ryan wasn't too shabby either and Katherine Mulgrew would of been a natural in the old cliffhanger stardom days. 🤩
Originals superior, inspired Star Wars, which only came to be because Lucas couldn't get rights to Flash Gordon, which was eventually remade in 1980.
@@unowen-nh9ov I never knew that. Thank you.
She resembles Rachel McAdams.
Jeri Ryan is the most beautiful woman on earth ❤️ 🌎
I really believe they could have done a much better job in setting up the end of the series. They could have put a lot more thought and creativity into the ending. It just seemed like the ending happened quickly and abruptly.
And they should make a feature length movie about Voyager???
I agree about the ending being abrupt. I don't know about the Star Trek Voyager movie though. Maybe now with Seven being a Captain, they could meet together in a TV series or an episode.
@@sureshmukhi2316they should have made a Voyager movie about 8472 resuming their galactic invasion after Voyager returned home.
@@WatchThis-ek2og but they already made peace.

Her last name is Zimmerman. She too appears to be Jewish. Robert Zimmerman is another famous person who is Jewish and you know him best as Bob Dylan. I don’t think they are related.
She is German ancestry and was born in Munich Germany. She's literally pure aryan, not sure where you see any "jewish" in her.

So let me get this straight, If "Seven of Nine" marries Tekashi 69 her name would be
"I love 69" ?
Other than Jeri Ryan, the Voyager cast aged more quickly than other Star Trek casts. Maybe all that adventure caught up to them
Bob Picardo also had quite an "adventure" in SE Asia (mid-1960s to early 1970s) as well as the Delta Quadrant. He is still acting, if I am correct...
That’s only because she was the youngest member

Didn't like 7 and jacote getting together; harry and 7 were better!
No way, 7 is way out of Harrys league. But I didn't like the Chakotay thing either. She should have dated Tom Paris.
Not much of an interview, at least on the 7 of 9 uniform.
She is my fave but even she succumbed to the being in a classy show ruined with a gay character
