Homeopathy logic: Since drinking my urine will make you feel sick (presumably), me pissing into a water reservoir will make the tap water cure nausea.
You should try eating your feces... I'm sure you'll enjoy it.
Homeopathy: The air guitar of medicine.
Well said !
...but, but, but my crazy hippie godmother swears by the stuff and she still has more than half her own hair.
this again?
Queue the ‘but it worked for me’ loons 🙄
I tried some Advil & it worked for me... so what's wrong with that?
@@lxmzhg advil isn't medicine because you tried it and it worked for you advil is medicine because it is researched and understood and tested against placebos on thousands of people in clinical trials and has solid evidence for it actually working. ssris don't work for me at all but they're still evidence based medicine.
"Like cures like" is literally the thinking of a caveman. And the "smaller dose" thing is obviously a fantastic way to have an infinite product that is indistinguishable from water.
Homeopathy helped me with my dehydration.
Actually it was urine therapy that cured you of dehydration.
the best expose of homeopathy is the comedy sketch from Mitchell & Webb "Homeopathy A&E' - it's on RUclips.
Lets all convince homeopaths that they need homeopathic oxygen 😉
The Amazing Randi has taken containers full of homeopathic "sleeping" pills for years in front of audiences and has never fallen asleep/overdosed. He's 90 now.
That's his problem, he never took a dose small enough ;)
@@RubixB0y hahaha
"Has to be small and deluded in order for it to work" sounds about right for a homeopathic believers.🙄🙄
I guess will be going back to the days Eugenics,
Dowsing and Phrenology
soon.
Some people are already back at eugenics.
Yes, but nowadays they prefer to call it "Race Realism". The far right is really good at renaming and repackaging their old bad ideas.
And sad but true: Dowsing also is still a thing.
Miyu So True.
Jeffman12 Yes they are.
Dowsing is still a thing unfortunately.
Excellent! Glad to see this is back! I was afraid that David had diluted his negative assessment of homeopathy to the point where he thought it best to take down the video and store its existence within our memories only.
A point to consider David. The British Royal Family has had a homeopathic Doctor for decades. Read up on placebos. When people do that, they generally say, "Why don't Drs just prescribe placebos (inert substances).?" I say, "Some Drs do, they are called Homeopaths." Our own placebo reaction is what should be investigated.
The Windsors are crazy as fuck.
Homeopathy is probably the "alternative treatment" that I have the hardest time understanding both why it (1) became popular in the first place, and (2) still has adherents to this day. It's just so extremely, mind-bogglingly dumb.
It became popular in the first place because it was invented at a time where "practicing medicine" was at the very beginning of the "practicing" stage and quite often doing nothing was a safer option than going to a doctor.
As for why it still has adherents... until we figure out a way to ensure everyone gets a solid education in science and critical thinking there will always be those that succumb to the Dunning-Kruger effect.
Hey, the fact that the supposed "active" ingredients are hardly even there may be part of the explanation: other pseudoscientific treatments are more likely to cause harm by using methods that have an actual effect. I'd never thought of it that way before, thanks!
"hardly even there" is incorrect. The active ingredient is literally diluted out of the final product (I refuse to call it a 'remedy'). There is *no* active ingredient.
I doubt every homeopathic concoction ever made have been as diligently diluted as proponents claim. I don't trust liars.
@@hazenoki628 fair. Perhaps I should have said if the product is made according to the "proper" process there wouldn't be any active ingredient left in it.
If only people would stop believing crap like this …
What changed between this version and the one that was taken down?
If placebo is a formula with the same ingredients except the active agent, how do you make placebo of a homeopathic medicine for your clinical trial?
This is an amazing video. Thanks
Wow nice segue into the sponsor! Smoooooth!
Well, if it works as a placedo and brings relief as such, why not experimenting with it?
Homeopathy is not pseudo science. It is real
They’re not completely incorrect: there is something deluded in homeopathy.. 😬
the good news is even getting duck liver now is also pretty much illegal
2maro i will create system of medicine with water ,any body believes in me ,now think of homeopathy , developed by a one man called Hahnemann ,if it works on placebo effect then why for chemicals ,and remember that the word allopathy was given by Hahnemann ,and ppl use it today
Some how your homeopathic medicine(nux vom , hypericum , ruhstox etc) doesn't work for me . For me your homeopathy is just a small dose of vodka 😂😂😂
Anyone else wanna see David cover nootropics/cognitive enhancers?

If water has a memory and at some point all water has been in contact with shit during the water cycle, then we're all drinking very potent shit.

They tested it on cholera?
I'm doing it with mercury to cure my insanity.
A mind is the most powerful organ in our body!
Jane Not necessarily (insert creepy look)
Your mind can't cure HIV/AIDS or ebola. But you will find homeopaths willing to sell you the most expensive tea spoon of water claiming exactly this.
A petroleum based homeopathic medicine worked great for curing a condition of mine where the skin of my hand used to peel off.
Petroleum based wtf ptrouluem will make it even worse your body healed on your own study science
…
It was the petroleum 🤷🏻♀️
David, you might have mentioned how in some remedies they literally put poison or feces (then of course dilute it).
Like there is homeopathic stuff with mercury in it.
I admire David for learning some science in preparation for these videos. Still, I think running the script by a scientist would have prevented a lot of imprecise and specious wording, like "molecules of goose liver", "the atoms disappear from the mixture". I know I'm being picky, but it's really important to teach non-scientists that science isn't just about complicated ideas. It's also about careful wording, deference to uncertainty, and using judicious caution when making declaratory statements.
but, sometimes, you have to choose terminologies that best convey information to your target audience.
Devil_Travels, true, but on this topic the correct phrases would have still been just as clear and easy to understand.
You’re both right. What he said was accurate but not precise. The old conundrum. It’s probably good enough, but still...the scientific lexicon is so different from the regular English lexicon.
Id it works use it ,if not leave it simple...
Some how your homeopathic medicine(nux vom , hypericum , ruhstox etc) doesn't work for me . For me your homeopathy is just a small dose of vodka 😂😂😂
Placebo and that's it
I thought it was Home-Eo-Pathy

The CVS drugstore offers this crap right next to the... the other over-the-counter crap.

They've all been indoctrinated & brainwashed. But those who dosed off in class, bypassed some of the indoctrination/brainwashing & thus go for the alternatives.
Homeopathic medicine suggests that by diluting something over and over you are actually increasing it's potency/healing factor. Given that "logic" I wonder how *homeopathic surgery* would work... Let's say someone is rushed to a hospital with a single gunshot wound. Homeopathy would suggest that the best way to cure the patient would be to shoot him 1e+24 (10 to the 24th) more times in order to increase the maximum healing factor of homeopathy. Why haven't doctors thought of this?
The nhmrc report already debunked and lancet report also and i don't why whole world is interested in debunking homeopathy ,if its not doing anything 😄

Vaccinations are a pseudo-science originating with the quack Jenner, killer of his own son, and there is no evidence that they work let alone save lives... just doctored “statistics”.
@@lxmzhg lol. I assure you, the baby boomer generation would not be this large if not for vaccinations.
Not only is the science proven by many independent researchers, but the actual processes of vaccination are well known and repeatable in experimentation.
The only problem with vaccination is the excess use. It developed immunization dependency in those who are not at risk.
i don't believe homeopathy but people with ADHD or ADD calm down when given stimulants.
Not sure what that has to do with homeopathy.
@citizen gold homeopathy is about like cures like add people are hyper. stimulants make people hyper except add people. see the connection? anyways I just found that funny.
Homeopathy would have that stimulant diluted out of the "remedy" too the point there was none left though. This comparison is actually better as a counter argument to homeopathy.
dude, it was just funny thats it. it wasn't an argument for or against homeopathy.
So... it was irrelevant to the topic of the video. Got ya.
Question, are homeopathy and Scientology linked somehow???
Only that they attract the gullible and the quacks.
scientology convinces people that an uncalibrated conductivity meter is a legitimate tool of psychology. Psudo-science...just like homeopathy.
no
They're just placebos.
It works for my dog
Nope, it doesn't.
Tell my dog who has less pain and more range of motion that!
...and your dog communicated this to you in an unambiguous in irrefutable manner how?
My dog had been to the vet and had been diagnosed with arthritis. He was lame according to the vet. That means he was lacking proper mobility. He also had exhibited pain in his knees. We chose to use Homeopathic's because the medications caused upset stomach and other issues. Upon using the homeopathic's his range of motion improved a lot and so did his pain, as evidenced by examination with the vet and upon watching his gait.
I'm a centipede.
Homeopathy is like religion. There is an “explanation” for anything.......of course when you make shit up by altering science you can explain anything.

Actually, most homeopaths do not practice true homeopathy, which is based on the teaching of Hahnemann, an 18th century German. Homeopathy as taught in German institutes is quite a bit more complex than you describe here. In fact, many German health insurers cover homeopathic treatment - so they must have found some basis for its effectiveness.
Germany almost banned it because it has no effectiveness. Then Germany decided that it's not worth banning because people hardly use it anyway. Finally, complicated bullshit is still bullshit. Astrology is dumb no matter how many more rules one adds.
You’re applying the laws of allopathy to homeopathy. Homeopathy is a branch of medicine that treats the electromagnetic aspect of the human body as opposed to the physiologic. Of course, when trying to encourage ligands binding to receptors, the more molecules of drugs present, the better. That said, succussion allows the energetic memory of the original substance to manifest stronger with each dilution. The reason why so many “debunking” methods fail is because the tester does not have the specific distunement that the remedy aims to cure. Your reasoning as to why homeopathy is pseudoscience is not based in the actual principles of homeopathy. Please do some research outside of what Big Pharma endorses.
true
@Rich
Why it supposedly untrue?
Electromagnetic aspect ? Really ?
Do you even know a shit about electromagnetism ?
Your psychological health has a lot to do with your physical health. If you believe you are getting good and effective treatment for an illness, that positive mindset will help you to recover quicker. That's basically how homoeopathy works (if it can be said to work at all).
Well If it's all just placebo then faith would also work..
Dragoner Productions “faith healing” is a thing tho
if only those children with cancer had just thought happy thoughts.
+Space Wizard, "faith healing" is just as much a thing as homeopathy. If a placebo is what you need a nice cup of tea and chat with a friend will achieve the same thing.
"That's basically how homoeopathy works (if it can be said to work at all)."
The best quality evidence we have, and there is a lot of it now, is quite conclusive in it not working.
i wouldnt get to mad at people who use the word homeopathy they mean home remedy most of the time and those are proven by science to work most of the time like chicken noodle soup
or some other stuff but they dont mean to delude things
What's next? Debunking God? Fairies?
Nothing that obvious.
See Dr. Emoto's research regarding water having memory. Other fluids would likely have memory too, as a guess. The bottom line in reality is that what science doesn't know is more than what they know. Ask any scientist.
what
See every legitimate research that says water does not have a mechanism for memory.
Emoto's research was not on water memory. It was about "vibrations" and "energies" imprinting upon water as it was frozen.
Just as plausible as homeopathy, but not homeopathy.
I agree. I should have talked about blessed /healing waters.
...which are also unproven and ill defined things.
sorry but ur very wrong about homeopathy. my mom had this allergy where if she ate even half a grape... just a half... her nose would start running like a tap. just unstoppable. she tried everything and nothing worked until she decided to try homeopathy. the pills really tasted sweet but what ever was in it, worked and helped her. she can now eat grapes as much as she wants.
i ddont know the science behind it, maybe it was just the placebo effect... but damn it worked....
Placebo
Maybe that sugar pill had high dosage of anti histamine . I know many homeopaths who secretly use modern medicines to cure many diseases ....

*This video is a propaganda/disinformation video.*
I have a bit of personal experience in this since I regularly visit a homeopathic doctor. Obviously, the treatment I've been receiving is working for me. This is only because I'm a relatively healthy person, and the only real issues I have are anxiety and vitamin D deficiency. These things can easily be handled with vitamin D supplements, and herbs like valerian root.
Basically my point is that not everything needs to be treated with prescription drugs. Consider seeing a homeopathic doctor for things that don't really need immediate attention, and are not extremely serious. Balance is important.
pls restore common sense let’s just deal, with this as swiftly as possible. Neither vitamins nor herbs qualify as homeopathy, ok? Watch the video, look up homeopathy on Wikipedia, and then delete this comment, it is literally irrelevant.
Julian Walker I watched the video. I know what he's talking about. I just figured I would bring up something similar. There's the kind of homeopathy that david talks about, and then there's the professional version of the practice that a few states have decided to legitimize through allowing doctors to be licensed homeopaths. I just thought I would share my information since the 2 practices share a name.
pls restore common sense you are talking about herbal medicine, not homeopathy
Rivai K. Yes, I'm aware that I'm talking about herbal medicine. It's just that there are alot of legitimatic licensed practices operating under the name "homeopathic". So, I wanted to make the distinction between the obviously ridiculous side of it that David points out, and the real health care facilities that are actually out there.
no offense, man. you just are incorrect. homeopathy is something very specific. a lot of people think anything that is not evidence based so called "western" medicine is in the category of homeopathy, but that is easily understandable as wrong with just a little education on the topic. there are herbal remedies -some of which work to some extent and end up becoming recognized as actual medicine, but most others are unsupported by evidence and rely on anecdote, vague claims and placebo. then there are vitamins, which are probably more effective but have been the subject of several exposes in terms of a fraudulent industry that often packages products without any of the actual vitamin claimed to be therein. in both of these cases we are talking about actual substances that are being touted as active ingredients which cure certain conditions or reduce certain symptoms. homeopathy is even further out there in terms of the explanation you hear in the video. essentially homeopathy has no active ingredients as they have been diluted far, far beyond detectable levels, and the ingredients in the first place are even less supported by any evidence whatsoever to have any effect on the conditions for which they are recommended, even if any tiny micro-molecule was actually in the remedy. while vitamins and herbal remedies still operate in line with basic laws of chemistry and biology, homeopathy in fact contradicts and is not consistent with anything we know about physics, chemistry and biology, and has been shown to not work at all. occasionally herbal remedies are proven to be so effective that they cross over into becoming used in actual medicine, and some doctors will also prescribe vitamins as part of an effective treatment plan for certain conditions, homeopathy on the other hand never has and never will have a single remedy recognized by medical science, because it is 100% hocus pocus nonsense based on absolutely nothing substantive, literally. ;)
