  • We really didn't expect Putrajaya Malaysia to be so modern and beautiful.
Putrajaya is the administrative capital of Malaysia. Today we explore a city just outside of KL that very little people visit. Malaysia is increasingly becoming one of our favourite countries.
This city is a must visit if you come to Malaysia.

there are many types of public transport in kuala lumpur.
i'm so surprised that you said could not get public transport in KL !!
there are even free buses for tourists to hop around between places !!
there are many continuous pedestrian lanes, some are covered lanes to provide shade for tourists like you, you can walk around from one building to another, from one mall to another. LRT, mrt, monorail, are available & very conveniently located.

Nasi lemak is for breakfast but now you can get it all day, nasi kandar is for lunch and dinner, but where it started, in Penang, it was for breakfast also. The vendor used to go around town, using two big rattan baskets, one each at the end of bamboo pole, carrying on their shoulders. The term kandar is to carry on shoulder.

The red batter on the chicken is masala imported from India mixed with yoghurt. I believed it is not fried but grilled.

Before Covid hit the world, Putrajaya held so many event from hot air balloon shows, water sport and international flora festivals from time to time. Now we are still awaiting for that kind of event. Nevertheless, people are still going there on weekends especially for dinner or just walk around the lake or cruise along. There are cruise service there.

Putrajaya is much like Canberra and Washington, DC, do in the US and Australia. The main objective of Putrajaya is to reduce traffic in KL so that KL may better continue to function as a business centre in more efficiently. Putrajaya's buildings were all recently constructed, you might be able to discover the majority of government offices from the executive and judicial branches in one place. Most of the inhabitants are employees of the government. However, the Parliament house and the King's palace are still standing in KL. I'm happy to hear that your trip to Putrajaya enabled you to learn more about Malaysia.

It's deserted of people cos its too far away even with access with monorail. Govt had tried to get the many Embassies et al to move to Putrajaya but was not receptive to this idea. They have other attractions like shopping complexes, amenities & even annual Formula 1 nearby there too.

Indeed, there are not many people going back and forth in Putrajaya. First because it is the administrative city of the central government where all the central ministries are located. Secondly, in the Road Transport statistics, there are 35 million active passenger vehicles which is more than the total Malaysian population of 32.5 million excluding foreign workers, expats, nomads, tourists etc. Therefore, most of the staff there have their own vehicles, at least a motorbike. Putrajaya will be crowded with people when there are festive events such as bicycle races, fireworks shows, independence celebrations etc. To see the people of Putrajaya gather usually at Ioi City Mall which is the largest mall in Malaysia where most of the family members of government employees spent their time there.

One advice in eating Malaysian food is that NEVER pour the sambal a lot on top of your rice. If it is too hot for you, you will not enjoy or finish all the rest on the plate. ALWAYS remember to put just a little sambal at the side of your plate or on a separate plate. If you like it or can take it, then you may add more later. The amount you guys put the sambal on your plate scares the shit out of me, a Malaysian.
