    Looking for the best waterproof backpack for college, commuting or everyday carry? In this video buying guide we take a quick look at three waterproof laptop backpacks that have all of the features you need to take on a busy day on campus or in the city. These backpacks include large main compartments for books, padded laptop and tablet sleeves and plenty of pockets to keep your daily carry organized while featuring the waterproof protection you’ll need on rainy days.
    Featured bags:
    Ortlieb Commuter-Daypack City
    The Ortlieb Commuter Daypack City is a lightweight and waterproof laptop backpack for commuting. Designed with daily carry in mind, the Commuter-Daypack City features a fully padded laptop sleeve and plenty of pockets for organizing daily essentials.
    We like this backpack for its light weight, quick-drying materials and small footprint at only 21 liters. Unlike other waterproof laptop backpacks, the Ortlieb Commuter Daypack City doesn’t have a bulky and heavy profile allowing for a more versatile and comfortable experience for anyone with a smaller frame.
    Black Ember Citadel R2 Minimal
    What makes the Citadel R2 Minimal backpack special is that Black Ember set out to design a daily carry backpack first and foremost - and then made it waterproof. As a result you have a waterproof backpack that is packed with special features like a clamshell zipper, an insane amount of pockets and the option to attach modular accessories.
    Black Ember specializes in waterproof backpacks and we recommend the brand to anyone who wants a backpack that is technical in design with a moderns style.
    Chrome Urban Ex Backpack
    The Chrome Urban Ex is essentially a dry bag for commuters, college students or anyone else that needs great waterproof protection while on the move. There are a ton of waterproof backpacks on the market but few make good backpacks that you would want to use on a daily basis.
    Equipped with padded laptop sleeve and plenty of smaller pockets, the Urban Ex doesn’t disappoint when it comes to everyday carry.
    Chrome has recently released the Chrome Urban Ex 2.0 version of this backpack which adds some cool features like reflective details and new 30 liter and 20 liter sizes. The brand also has some great options for anyone looking for a water resistant backpack for college or commuting.

      They skipped level 2 [river]
      And level 3 [ocean]
      But I know two of these are level 2 according to their design.
      But almost no backpack in the world is level 3 since they don't implement a decompression system.
      But the ocean is dangerous so before backpacking we better focus on oxygen and armor.

      I always prefer roll top kind of waterproof bag - and when it come to organization, my own organizer (bag-in-a-bag) is also the preferred way.

      David David David, no-one gives a flying duck about your about your opinion. Can you get that through your thick skull? How many times do i need to tell you. The 80's were a tragic time fo us weren't they? Dont think I forgot what you two did in 89'. My family wont forget nor your now Ex-wife. When your brother came to me and asked if i could give him a job i was reluctant but then i saw his big muscles and new he was right for the job. Fit, enthusiastic and great personality. Little did we know he ended up drowning all those girls in the canal. A.K.A the penny sweet killer! and what did he use as transportation for those barbiturates? Do you remember? Because we DO David...WE STILL REMEMBER. Yes! This very rucksack David. See you on Monday. God Bless. x

    Hey thanks for the lovely review. Can you suggest which one of these will be a good bag for carrying heavy weight for extended duration of times during hikes etc. Comfort , durability and waterproof are my top priorities.

    • @Backpackies
      @Backpackies  Год назад +1

      Thank you for your comment! The backpacks shown in our video are best for everyday use, rather than hiking with heavy weight.
      For hiking, we recommend looking into backpacks with waist belts and supportive shoulder harnesses, such as the Roark Missing Link backpack or EXPED waterproof backpacks. There will be links to these in the video description. But to be completely honest, your best bet is to purchase a proper well-fitted hiking backpack with a rain cover. Hope this helps!

    Hey! great video and good information. I'm in the market for a waterproof backpack and all of these seem like good options but have you looked at backpacks from MOW minimal organized wear). They seem interesting but there isn't much info available on them (aside form their own website). If you've hear of then or have tested them please let me know what do you think. Just trying to weigh my options :) Thanks again!

    Hello, what a Great video! Really liked it! I have a question, is there a waterproof backpack that could resist long periods of time being submerged underwater?

    • @Backpackies
      @Backpackies  4 года назад +4

      They exist! You are going to want to search for a "Fully Submersible Dry Bag" a few brands make them. They are great for outdoor activities but aren't ideal for daily carry since they are usually activity specific (fishing, surfing, boating).

      Good question.

    • @Backpackies
      @Backpackies  3 года назад +8

      These backpacks are not airtight and can't be submerged but they are designed so that water can't leak through the fabric or stitching. So technically not fully waterproof but a huge step up from "water resistant" backpacks.
