As they should. A car body made out of steel isn't going to protect you in an accident. In fact, most car engineering is trending towards having the car body deliberately crumple to soften the impact. So you're adding a lot of extra weight for no added protection.

Ethical situation aside (depending how they filmed it), what gets me about this one is that it's such a stupid test that proves nothing. You'd choose the steel cage because you don't need weight savings in this scenario. The "you'd choose it here, why not with our trucks" doesn't work because it's not a valid comparison.

@Marco Polo brand loyalists are all dumb. Each brand has good and bad models and years. My 07 chev truck has 400k and zero issues. Just ball joints and brakes. Dodge and Ford v8's knock all the time. The 5.4 is a trash motor. The 5.0 is great. My next truck will be a Tacoma, dont like the new chevs.

This does not mean our next cars will be the same, it's just what we found as a good value for our previous purchases.
Brand loyalty, to be useful, must come with bounds and limits. I like Honda.. For their B16 engines (low torque, average rev limit, but incredibly long lasting.) This means if I ever shopped for a "new Honda" and it didn't have that B16, well my previous positive experience with them just doesn't apply here. They'll be evaluated the same as any other brand would.
