Q3 is badass! It's a lot more than a gaming device. The lenses are great, and the passthrough playing mixed reality is awesome! Def worth upgrading from Q2.
@@Mrlostmoniker Not only those improvements, it's the general all round stability of everything. Also, the lenses and fov are much better. I'll be getting a Quest 4 Pro day one whenever that comes out. Probably 2026! But yeh, the Q2 was good but for me the Q3 takes standalone vr over the line of ok, now we're really getting somewhere! Exciting tech and it's only really just begun. Ps, I get where you're coming from but you're at least missing out on Batman! I'm about halfway through! Just play the definitive version on a Q4 Pro innit lol
I bought a used quest 2 in great shape for $125. Had it about a day and even though I love it, I was shopping for a 3 right away.. Got another really good deal on a barely used one. I'm older too, and my favorite games are like golf, boxing, darts, ping pong and pool in MR. I play golf with some friends every week. I also like tabletop games like demeo, demeo battles and triangle strategy in MR. And I use it almost every night for watching movies or browsing remotely from my desktop. I still like having the 2 to share the experience with friends and to use for exercise when I sweat.
I can see that, I bought the Quest 2 early into its lifespan, and after the initial novelty wore off and there weren’t enough games to really push me back to it, it sits most times
The Quest 3 is miles ahead of the Quest 2. The pass through is so much better. With Asgards Wrath, Batman, and several other games you have plenty of choices for great games. If u are into productivity the Quest 3 allows you to have 3 or more screens to do your work with. You can project your X Box or even your phone on the Quest 3 screen and it’s incredible. I think you are missing out on one of the best VR headsets for gaming and productivity. The QGO (Quest Game Optimizer) really increases the resolution of most games and really makes them awesome
@@Mrlostmoniker "Killergames" are not the reason why I upgraded to the Quest 3. Some other reasons I mentioned were good enough for me and playing the old games which were ok on the Q2, they were much better on the Quest3 and besides the optics another thing has dramatically improved: the loudspeakers. I could not play without earbuds on my Quest2, but the Quest3 is good enough for me to be playing without any.
@@SjaakSchulteis yeah, and maybe I'm also too casual for the Quest in general, I'm not sure, I just know I'd play more if there were stronger and longer single player style games on there
Main reason i need a quest 3 is 1 my microphone don’t work 2 my right controllers ring is broken and 3 my volume buttons are broken and stuff and there’s no point in trynna find a used quest 2 cuz i most def won’t find one brand new and no need ina quest 3s so i just need a quest 3 plus i believe all the games i personally play have been quest 3 optimized like Pavlov and stuff
I agree. Also, the Quest’s library are too expensive and don’t particularly feel like full games. The “games” only give a short lived sense of experience and nothing further. Stick with the Quest 2.
Yeah, but I don’t even find myself grabbing this device casually as often as I would any other device I own. I do see utility in what else is offered on the device, but it would be nice to have some solid triple A games to jump into on it
i felt the quest 2 was amongst the best of the competitors but i didn't like the passthrough. weight wise, size everything seemed better with the quest 2. then the quest 3 came out being the only one i can say that price ability and features. quest 3 is the only thing that seems to beat the quest 2 hands down. some may have better graphics or controls, but with all the added cost accessories and rest of it just to have a head set 3 times heavier nah man.. original quest 3 seems the way to go. but some may say the 3s is better. for the price and weight and features, good luck finding much else. and the onset games are really picking up but if not quest 3 is great for pcvr games too.
Yeah I’m not denying the Quest 3 had great capabilities, but my problem is there aren’t enough top level VR games out yet to take advantage of those capabilities. My Xbox for example I play a lot, I like the games on it and have a large library of existing and current games, so upgrading to get a better experience made sense to me, but on the Quest, the games are so limited it doesn’t make much sense to me

I’m not doubting it’s a great device but I can’t see myself getting into a Q3 until there are more triple A titles
No way I could go back to the Quest 2 now. What a difference, especially with the optimiser.
@ChesterMeadows the graphics look great, no doubt

I got a quest 3 last week after having a q2 for years and it’s a HELL OF UPGRADE it’s amazing
Oh visually it’s night and day compared to the quest 2!

I’m not disagreeing that the Quest 3 is ahead of the Quest 2, I just don’t see enough killer apps on the 3 to justify the switch

Yeah, If there were more triple a type games I’d consider upgrading to the 3, but for now the 2 does everything I need
@@Mrlostmonikeryou also don’t have to upgrade if you have a pc

Don’t do it ever since I had it on my eyes I’m not able to see as good as I used to. Don’t do it a mess of your vision.
I've never had that issue, nor heard of it from others
