- I sold my 2021 Civic Type R. As much as I wanted to keep it, it didn't make much sense to have two sporty cars. It would be like having the M3 and an M2 as a commuter. The Civic Type R FK8 was a fun practical car but some of limitations made it annoying to use for what I wanted to use it for.

Same feeling when I sold my Type-R. Great car. I sold it at the peak of the market and got top dollar. Much happier now with a Supra and M4 CS. Also, I recognized the location. Fairfield, my old hometown.

I saw your video a few months ago and you were contemplating this move. Sounds like you really want to keep and enjoy this R, but it also sounds like it's been a chore. Your ride looks great and you have taken excellent care of it and should have asked for a bit more from the start, and you probably would have gotten it. I feel your pain because you, like all of us are a car lover. My wife understands why I'm always in the garage with my cars, because they are my guys. I have a 2015 RC F, and I'm KEEPING it! It is an awesome ride and I can't see getting rid of it. You don't see many and just about everyone wants to run it. I'm not thinking about adding an EV to my little stable at this time, but who knows what's in the cards. Well, I see the hand off is complete and I know that was tough. Thanks for the video bro, and keep us updated. I'm sure there is something you have in mind.
Yeah, if I had to space I would certainly park and keep it as a another weekend car to enjoy. RCF is a nice car too! I had an ‘12 ISF that I also sold, and now trying to find another one that’s similar year is limited. It was unique and the V8 sound coming from something that looked like a it should have a V6 engine. …omg 🤩
@@eddiemcars The OG IS F was a monster when it first launched, and people didn't know what the hell was going on getting smoked by an unassuming Lexus. They found out real fast another player was in town! Hope you find another one. There is a lot of hate for Lexus and the F cars. The RC F is not the lightest, quickest or fastest, but it will stomp out a lot of cars if they aren't careful.

Hi. When selling the car with a leinholder the buyer can pay cash or use their bank to purchase the vehicle. The main thing is Do not release keys to new buyer until your bank gives the green light regardless.
The easier way I found when I sold the Type R was use a 3rd party company to keep funds in escrow. www.keysavvy.com
The buyer paid a with a direct link and it was a smooth process for both of us.

That was tough to watch brother… really torn between a super low mileage FK8 vs a new FL5… I still own a tuned Mugen Si I purchased new so I am used to the attention and challenges and almost feel I might get bored with the FL5 rather quickly due it’s super mundane appearance. It’s clean and all but lacking the menacing presence… it’s driving me crazy…

Is wiring in the radar mainly just so there is no wires hanging? Also do you know if those rear view mirrors will fit the new fl5’s?
I saw a factory oem one online for fk8’s but it didn’t seem to Have the garage button thing on it but had everything else you said. Is your mirror oem Honda or something different?

Yes. Hardwired so I didn’t a have to run a cord across my dash and unplug/plug when I wanted to use it.
This way it’s up out the view and always powered on when the car is started.
Edit: Yes, the rear view mirror is an OEM replacement you can buy from Honda. Plug n play

I feel your pain. I sold mine too to make room for a 2020 Shelby GT350. I love the Shelby but the type r was special. I was planning on getting another one but the FL5 is also on my radar. If I can get a FL5 for MSRP in a couple of years then I'll get that.
I feel the same. Have to make room but if I stumble on a MSRP Type R soon, I’ll get it!

Is your the GT model? I saw your previous video about the pros/cons and I thought the 'tech' like Lane departure warning etc came as standard.
The funny thing is even the first 2017 type R's came with lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, collision mitigation, blind spot warning and hill assist here in the UK, for some reason you guys in the US just didn't get that until like 2021 which is crazy!
@@jonathan___4684 we don't get the fuel cap thingy as standard in the UK.
Yes, we all get the touring models here but the problem is the US spec omits a lot of stuff such as rain sensing wipers, lane watch, etc.
I'm thinking of moving on next year but not sure yet after 2 years.. I love it but I got a high payment bc I put on 10k negative. If wasn't for that it wouldn't be as bad lol.. so now I pay 782 at 3.3 percent instead if 650 like I should be at if didn't have the negative when I switched
The good thing is you have a low interest rate so although you rolled over negative equity, You have the best car to absorb it since the Type R holds its value.
