I was really taken back when the new Battlestar Galactica series came out, they had a great oppertunity to make something wonderful, that could have been a legacy to the old Battlestar series. They changed everything about the old series, and all of us old Battlestar Galactica series lovers was so disappointed. I was watching a show one night that brought back together a few of the actors from the old series and Dirk Benedict explained how disappointed he was in the new series. Many of the other actors would later speak of their disappointment as well. I watched Battlestar Galactica everytime it came on TV back in the late 70's and early 80's, never missed an episode. An Lockhart was one of my favorite actors, as well as her mother June Lockhart who played the mother in "Lost In Space". You never mentioned Wolfman Jack who played in one of the final extended episodes of the old series, where the cast finally made it to earth. All in all, I think you did a great job giving us the "Then and Now, Thankyou so much for this.
@@jinglejazz7537 I guess, I'm just an 80's kind of guy, in the original series, the cyclones were not cg created, and in the new series, most of the cyclones were robot humans. To me, that took away from what the story line was all about. A race of mechanized robots out to destroy all humans. Also, the battle scenes in the new series, just didn't have the POW! of the original series. I guess, if I had never seen the original series, I would have liked the new one. Just seems to me, they stirred away from the original series to much. Just like Star Trek, if they had carried on with the original crew, like J.J. Abrams did with the remakes, it would've been good. My favorite actor in the original Battlestar Galactica was Richard Hatch. I have a story about him and my ex boyfriend. We had gone to a convention and Richard Hatch was one of the guests of honor. My ex boyfriend's first name was David, and he had brittle bones, He would move around in either a manual wheelchair or a battery powered chair when he had one. David and I were members of a Klingon fan club and we had on Klingon uniforms. I was pushing David in his manual chair and we happened to see that Richard Hatch was sitting at his table waiting for people to come so he could sign autographs. At the time I had a throwaway camera which required the film inside to be turned before new pictures could be taken. We asked if Mr. Hatch would let us take a picture of him with David. I started priming the camera after getting David beside the table, Richard Hatch stood up and got behind David. The two gentlemen looked at each other and Richard started to smile mischievously realizing that David's wheelchair's brakes were not set so he would be able to roll... Before I finished getting the camera ready Richard Hatch was running at a light jog down this long hallway at the hotel and David was yelling and waving his arms up and down. Ever since that day I called Richard Hatch "That Colonial Warrior" When he died I cried... And when my ex passed away I thought maybe at a Heavenly convention Richard would make people laugh by pushing David in a heavenly wheelchair down a hall way too..
Terry Carter still going at 94? Wow. I always thought he was the show’s moral anchor - very decent solid character and the perfect Colonel for Commander Adama
