Ngl, I'd absolutley love to see an unhaul/dvd clear out video just to hear you talk about films you no longer like or just flat out dislike. Loved this collection 🖤
i just bought that on ebay yesterday. its a great movie. ive slowly been building back up my dvd collection after selling everything years ago when I switched to streaming. but now im going back to dvds.
ngl the feeling that i NEEDED to buy dvds got to a breaking point when i tried to watch less popular (mainstream-wise) movies like Hell House LLC and Silent HIll on the usual platforms I stream from, but they kept randomly vanishing due to them moving around the rights. I'd so much rather get DVDs to keep forever than risk potentially never being able to see a movie again because of some stupid copyright issue. (also i 10000% agree with your DVDs vs BluRay argument!!!!!)
Exactly!! Things are available one day on a streaming platform, then not available the next day. Just annoying. I’d rather have a physical copy so I can watch it whenever I want
I love having physical copies !!!! I remember buying music CDs growing up and how special they were to me, so anytime I find a new album or digital download that I think I'd love to listen to (for when I'm not able to listen to it online/etc.) I try to buy a physical copy (ex: CD, vinyl record, etc.) from the artist or burn my own disk to listen to. Additionally, it's just always a fun treat imo and is super fun to add to during the random visits to record shops I go to as I have a tradition (inspired by a couple friends and one parent) to always look through the discount section ($1-15 area) and buy at least one eye catching thing.
i love these types of physical media talks, its rather soothing to me. reminds me if the past, when my friends used to come over to watch movies together (since im the film "collector" among them) and i show them the collection just like this video... 😢 i'm glad there are still quite a lot of people collect these discs still in current times 😊
I've started a very small collection of DVDs (I have already committed to my book collection and can't afford to have another!) and I have been hunting high and low for a copy of Melancholia. It is one of my all-time favourite movies!
I love videos like this and I wish I was a collector I was pretty young when Netflix streaming started really becoming a popular thing like 9 or 10 and since I was so young I’ve lived most my life feeling like physical media is obsolete, so besides my oldest brother we’ve got rid of most our dvds and now that I’m older I really regret that !! The whole thing with hbo max removing their own media making it almost impossible to find other places and streaming services in general taking movies off on a whim makes me regret not realizing that physical media is just as important so you can have it with out a streaming conglomerate controlling whether u can watch or not. So it also makes me happy to see u have such a big collection!!
You HAVE to watch Mulholland Drive (2001). It's an amazing movie. When I watched it for the first time I didn't like it that much because I didn't understand anything. But it left an impression on me, and I kept thinking about it. Then I rewatched it and I loved it. Then it became my favorite movie of all time (Either this or Thirteen (2003)) It's honestly one of the most effective movies I've ever watched. It's like a puzzle. You keep trying to solve it, trying to understand what's exactly going on, and even though you don't quite understand everything that's happening, it just makes you feel so many intense emotions and when it's over it hits you like a brick. I get chills just thinking about the ending. If you watch it, I'd love to hear your opinions and feelings about it so it'd be great if you shared how you felt in your monthly letterboxd recap (if you ever watch it). By the way, i'm in love with your channel i would honestly watch a video of yours if it was 5 hours long, your videos are so entertaining! Much love from Turkey ❤❤💘💘
Mulholland Drive one of my absolute favorites Nick Nolte Chazz Palminteri I like how Nick Nolte went out assembled his crew and went out and did his investigation in crime-fighting again another great movie
Seen a lot of these clips for people show off Media never seen anybody with put DVD V for Vendetta or The Omen remake course the Remake sucks just my opinion still no one has ever talked about it or the 2010 remake of Nightmare on Elm Street now I have mixed feelings on that one now those just three but nobody ever talks about that has one of these media channels
I know people knock Lady in the Water but it's my favorite m knight movie!! I gasped so loud when you said you haven't watched it!!! Please watch it and report back to us!!
I bought The Ring Steelbook too! About a month ago for its 20th Anniversary. Love that the cover looks like a VHS and that Ring franchise will always be connected to that
I love videos like these. Thank you for showing us!! It kind of makes me want to start collecting horror movies I like, too. Also, I buy ALL my books from Half Price Books. Just last week I got the the complete fiction of H.P. Lovecraft (with cool, silver pages) and the complete tales and poems from Edgan Allan Poe (with cool gold pages) for less than $30. It's awesome in there. I've even picked up a few old vinyls and video games for really cheap.
My dream is for my friends to come over and ask for a movie tour. They never will, but I love that you can do it online and thousands of us want to see it!!
I'm slowing down on my collecting too. I have over 200 4ks, about 70 blu-rays, and about 160 dvds. I've done all this in 4 years and I have spent a good $6k to $7k. At this point, I will only collect new releases. It feels good to finally reach a point I'm happy to stop at.
but I'm a cheerleader has a damn good soundtrack. natasha lyonne fans, 3 underrated films worth checking out are slums of beverly hill, comic book villains, & the immaculate conception of little dizzle.
Girl I used to work at a library we used to have those locks we removed them when we got a new security system all you have to do is pull it out it breaks easily then you can close it I’m a weakling so sometimes I’d have to get someone to pull it out for me lol
i just started buying dvds again of my favorite tv shows and movies. started with my favorite movie of all time. 1978 Dawn of the Dead directors cut.. i love 70's' and 80's movies most of my favorites are from those decades.
The cave was literally my FAVORITE store when I lived in Sacramento. I miss that place so much. That place was where most of my movie collection came from. I’d be in there for hours just looking and hunting for things
When it comes to physical media I honestly collect: Blu-ray+DVD combo packs or at least I tried to collect those. Occasionally I would walk over to a store called 2nd and Charles to see what DVDs they have. In regards to 4ks, the only movie I got on 4k is The Howling but mainly for the special features on the Blu-ray. That's only for movies where as TV shows I tried to do mainly DVD especially for complete series. The only exception to this was Batman the animated series which I got on Blu-ray. The only thing I don't do is digital codes but mainly for the reason I don't have a reason to use it.
I feel the same way about books as you do DVDs. I just love seeing them on a shelf, holding them, looking at them, etc. I could always read books online but its not the same! Plus, there is no substitute for a huge art coffee table book- the smell and smooth pages are the best! Interestingly, I stopped having a TV about five years ago and began to watch all my media on my laptop- so I just buy movies on Amazon and my library is at around 275 movies. I do wish, though, that sometimes they were all in a physical space that I can admire them from, rather than in my Amazon account. So cool how time passes and it changes how we collect and view all kinds of media. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!
I saw DVDs in a charity shop (The UK's version of thrift stores) for 10p each ($0.13) and am frustrated I didnt at least pick a few up considering how cheap they were
Frailty will always make me smile because when my husband and I started dating, he was talking up, this movie he really loved and was thrilled when I said I hadn’t seen it. A key thing to note is, he could not remember the name of it! But it was one of the few thriller/horror movies he liked AND owned (Even 11 years later and I am still a staunch physical media proponent and he can take it either way) so we’re at his dorm, he’s so excited and then I’m just like “babe I’ve not only seen this movie, I love this movie!” Still watched it. 😊 also, The 5th Element is gold and I love it! I also love that you have Home Room! I feel like no one ever talks about it and it is such a great movie.
Great job with this! One that I saw years ago that I've never been able to shake is "Les Revenants" (They Came Back). I don't love reading subtitles, but this take on zombies scares me in a genuine way. I recommend highly, if you can be patient through the slowest movie ever.
I'm not much into horror, but I was impressed by your collection! I have 544 movies of various genres in my collection. I do have some horror favorites. The Night of the Hunter is #1 (it's even in my top 10), but I also love movies like Paranormal Activity, Frankenstein, Bride of Frankenstein, Scream (1996), Halloween(1978), and The Exorcist.
I also have a paper copy of There Will Be Blood. I bought a huge box of DVDs on Facebook market place for $10 and it was in there. I never seen a case like that before. I liked My Little Eye actually lol. Its corny but when I watched it, I had no idea what I was in for and enjoyed it. I like watching my DVDs on my CRT tv. It gives them some awesome nostalgic flair. Especially the 70s-early 2000s horror. Nice collection and cool video.
I have that Seven DVD too. Found it in a Goodwill. Mine has a slipcase though. I love your collection! I grew up watching DVD’s too. Every weekend I would go rent movies with my family at a Video 2000 store. It was like a Blockbuster ❤️ Too bad they closed it years ago. I’ve been feeling nostalgic lately so I started collecting Horror movies from the 2000s on DVD. Thank you for all the cool recommendations.
I love the effort you put in! I LOVE your vibe, your movies, your aesthetic, your books and your recommendations. I don't even care that you dislike one of my favorite movies (secret window) lol. Thank you so much for your content
in the UK, many charity shops sell 4 or 5 DVDs for £1. I've been steadily building up a collection of horror/ sci-fi/ fantasy movies on DVD, streaming is great but they don't have everything you want to watch.
Love collecting physical media and I now have over 1000 dvds/blu-rays. I collect all kinds of the movies I love, so only a portion of those are horror, but it's a fairly large amount. Fully 90% of mine are second hand as well.
We have such similar tastes! I love all from your stack of underseen except The Tunnel (haven't seen, now on my watchlist). I really love the blockbuster stickers :)
Watching you go through your collection is making me miss mine. I had to give away all of my dvds and cd's in October. Over 500 movies and 1000 albums. I moved from a house to a studio apartment, and a lot of stuff had to go. I gave everything away to libraries and consignment stores, so hopefully, someone else is taking care of them for me 😔
Vast difference between DVD to Blu-Ray and 4K! Not to mention you’re possibly subject to things like disc rot with DVD’s. Worth looking in to. Cool collection regardless.
I love such a lengthy video! I have to tell you that I recently watched The Ring for the first time and LOVED IT. It was everything I needed! There’s a react channel, Alanda Parker, who also recently watched it for the first time!! I definitely recommend!
The Ring is such a classic I was only 11 in 02 when it came out and though I didn’t see it yet beck then I remember the hype was HUGE and many got scared of phones and certain video stores were shut down
I wanna collect dvds cause I already made sure my family didn't throw away the ones we had, might as well get my favorites now! That rocky horror case was so sick I need a copy like that and the Saw movies ahhh
Out of all of you unwatched movies, I would recommend Hide and Seek. Though, considering you have had your wee one, it will definitely disturb you. It's incredible and so jarring. It has been a long time since I saw it, but I believe it should not have any of the usual things you try to avoid. Though, because it does involve a young child, it's ... something. Thanks so much for sharing! Been follwoing you for a long while and love seeing your recommendations. I definitely jotted a few down during this!
I used to have that Nightmare 4 set and then my dad borrowed it and lost the dvds 💀 Your dumpster dive story made me remember I have a dvd box set of the last season of Angel (the Buffy spinoff) because at the apartment I lived in in highschool someone left a bunch of stuff next to the dumpster and there it was like of course I took it
Post 2005 dvd releases have really great picture quality, so I get what you mean about comparing dvd-bluray. I have a little 4k blindness and have trouble seeing the difference between bluray-4k. All in all, dvd is still the most bought format and the menu screens are almost always better. Love your collection.
Outstandingly awesome collection sis! You have a lot that I don't have. During the DVD beginning there were several boxed sets but they didn't release as many as now on Blu-Ray or 4K. Be on the lookout for those and don't let them pass! Anyway I wish you a Merry Christmas 🎄 and a happy and prosperous New Year 2023 Sarah!🎉
Personally I prefer blu ray over DVD, but I still buy DVDs if I can get them cheap enough. I'm perfectly happy with most of my DVDs but certain movies I want on blu ray for the best performance. I'm not upgrading to 4k as I've already spent enough on movies and dont see the point of upgrading when I feel blu is good enough.
I used to feel the same way about 4Ks but more and more special editions kept coming out and I succumbed. I only have like 30 4Ks which are my very favorite horror movies. Especially when they are 3 or 4 discs versions. But I don't plan to upgrade everything that'll be insane.🙉
omg I bought Rose Red ages ago on DVD and eventho I am currently updating every DVD I own to Blu Ray I will never get rid of the Rose Red one bc I am so proud to have it :D
I'm happy you have an appreciation for Another Earth, Brit Marling is so underrated! Also, I noticed you don't have Arrival in your Sci-fi section. If you heaven't seen it you gotta, because it's really good!
It's funny because I love Another Earth, but I hate Arrival probably more than any movie. At the end I yelled in the theater, "It's called Arrival because she's having a baby! Get it!?" I thought everything about it was manipulative, patronizing and insulting the audiences intelligence. It reminded me of another movie I hated that Sarah loves: Interstellar. This movie doesn't make any sense? Well, the Power of Love is more powerful than science! Both films are rip offs of the worst offender: Contact. You can't prove aliens because they erased all evidence of their existence, just like you can't prove God doesn't exist. Checkmate, Atheists. Get behind me, Carl Satan!
Ngl, I'd absolutley love to see an unhaul/dvd clear out video just to hear you talk about films you no longer like or just flat out dislike. Loved this collection 🖤
I’ve had such a rough day today and a 40 MINUTE video from you has instantly cheered me up ☺️ thank you for everything you do for us Sarah 😭❤️
As a movie buff, I love seeing people show off there media collections . 👏
Stoked to have seen The Fifth Element getting so much love. It’s a great film that oddly not too many people seem to have seen which is a shame
i just bought that on ebay yesterday. its a great movie. ive slowly been building back up my dvd collection after selling everything years ago when I switched to streaming. but now im going back to dvds.

Physical media for life! Always love having my favorites.
can’t trust streaming only!

I'm happy to have added The Tunnel to your great collection (thanks for the shout out!). I hope you like Infested when you get around to reading it :)
immediate smile on my face seeing your new vid notification pop up my phone
Tron: Legacy is so underrated! I love it so much. The visual style is incredible, and so is the score.
Great collection and I pretty much agree with everything you say.
Another Earth is great and Brit Marling is one of my favourite filmmakers!
I've started a very small collection of DVDs (I have already committed to my book collection and can't afford to have another!) and I have been hunting high and low for a copy of Melancholia. It is one of my all-time favourite movies!

You uploaded this when I’m on a 6 hour train ride 😌❤️ perfect timing
My district 9 was the last blockbuster movie I rented before the store shutdown
I know people knock Lady in the Water but it's my favorite m knight movie!! I gasped so loud when you said you haven't watched it!!! Please watch it and report back to us!!
I’m shocked you haven’t watched Hide & Seek yet 😧, YOU HAVE TO, it’s one of those iconic y2k movies that affected me at a young age
Wasnt hide and seek with Robert Deniro and Dakota fanning ?
I bought The Ring Steelbook too! About a month ago for its 20th Anniversary. Love that the cover looks like a VHS and that Ring franchise will always be connected to that
I really wish Rose Red was streaming somewhere. It was one of my earliest gateways into horror and as a kid I probably rewatched it a dozen times.
I finally just finished cataloging this morning and I've got a collection of 674 movies and 85 TV series box collections!
THE CORE omg this unlocked a repressed memory, i LOVED this movie growing up
2 MINS AGO?! I love all the content you’re putting out recently!!!
🙌🙌🙌

less than $30?! That's such a steal! Congrats!
Great collection. That midsommar case is truly an art piece. Mulholland drive is the best DVD you now own please watch it soon.
the ring anniversary steelbook is so gorgeous. i rarely update my movies but i had to when i saw it. i need that spiral steelbook so badly wow
Me too!

I thought everyone loved papercases til now. They do get worn down quite easily but I really love the look of them tbh
I'm so jealous of the rocky horror dvd it's so pretty same with the SAW ones they're so cool looking
Mulholland Drive is one of the most magical, yet confusing movies I’ve ever seen! You should def watch!!!

I found a ringu dvd in the charity shop and with this video out today I think I might start collecting horror DVDs tysm for making content😊😊
YES! Ringu is a great place to start! Truly terrifying. Man I wash the Ring would have another iconic moment like it did with the TV
I love the effort you put in! I LOVE your vibe, your movies, your aesthetic, your books and your recommendations. I don't even care that you dislike one of my favorite movies (secret window) lol. Thank you so much for your content
I have a massive bluray dvd collection too.
Streaming movies are fun too but I am glad I have the actual physical copies
It's also my favourite movie from m.n.shyamalan :):)
in the UK, many charity shops sell 4 or 5 DVDs for £1. I've been steadily building up a collection of horror/ sci-fi/ fantasy movies on DVD, streaming is great but they don't have everything you want to watch.
I have OCD and this just…WOW this was so satisfying
the oldest dvd i owned before was probably The TIme Machine from 1960. its an amazing film.
That Ring steelbook is Awesome I never saw that b4

omg I totally forgot about The Hole now I want to watch it again. it's so wild. love the collection!!
You a natural at this! I love hearing you talk. New to the channel and I’m enjoying all the content!
Love collecting physical media and I now have over 1000 dvds/blu-rays. I collect all kinds of the movies I love, so only a portion of those are horror, but it's a fairly large amount. Fully 90% of mine are second hand as well.
I JUST rewatched your last dvd collection video the other day this is perfect timing!

We have such similar tastes! I love all from your stack of underseen except The Tunnel (haven't seen, now on my watchlist). I really love the blockbuster stickers :)
My "Everything must be arranged by group and alphabetically OCD" thanks you.
I love that seven case, I’ve never seen it before, a very nice find.
I love seeing the growth of your plant on the back

No “The Messengers” or “The Eye”?! Those are two from my childhood in the early 00s that I can’t ever stop thinking about when horror movies come up
Granted, they’re both pretty terrible, but full of cheesy goodness
I love such a lengthy video! I have to tell you that I recently watched The Ring for the first time and LOVED IT. It was everything I needed! There’s a react channel, Alanda Parker, who also recently watched it for the first time!! I definitely recommend!
The Ring is such a classic I was only 11 in 02 when it came out and though I didn’t see it yet beck then I remember the hype was HUGE and many got scared of phones and certain video stores were shut down
I watched Joyride (2001) right after this video!! I'd never heard of it, & it was very good. Thank you!

I love this! I think you've mentioned doing this before but a video of your favorite Menu Screens would be so fun!
I wanna collect dvds cause I already made sure my family didn't throw away the ones we had, might as well get my favorites now!
That rocky horror case was so sick I need a copy like that and the Saw movies ahhh
Definitely give Apollo 18 a try if you find it!! We randomly watched it in one of my high school science classes and I remember it being pretty good!
Tnks for showing your collection.
I like that he got all of two sections of the shelf :P
That Apollo 18 twist towards the end has me cackling!

This makes me want to start a collection :D
I used to have that Nightmare 4 set and then my dad borrowed it and lost the dvds 💀
Your dumpster dive story made me remember I have a dvd box set of the last season of Angel (the Buffy spinoff) because at the apartment I lived in in highschool someone left a bunch of stuff next to the dumpster and there it was like of course I took it
I like Buffy and Angel too. Was huge in the late 90s when I was just a kid! Sure miss her in acting

I suggest you add Solaris to your collection if you haven't already done so.... George Clooney version....
Blasphemy.
I love the old Snapper cases!
Use a strong magnet for that MA case. Those are magnetic locks. Easy to open if you have a strong enough magnet
You having a Ring VHS I consider a treasure. Wish I got one in the early 2000s
I absolutely love your commentary
@@hectormontalvo5565 I know, it's the special editions that keep on tempting me too....but i have to be strong!
@@VampireJack10 👌
@HECTOR MONTALVO Do you have to have a special player for those, like back when they had "hd dvd" as a competitor of blu ray?
@@JebeckyGranjola yes, you need a 4k player. This will also play your blu's and dvds though. For full benefit you will need a 4k tv too.
The video we’ve all been waiting for!!! I love physical media I just hit 100🎉 can’t wait till mines is as big as yours😍
omg I bought Rose Red ages ago on DVD and eventho I am currently updating every DVD I own to Blu Ray I will never get rid of the Rose Red one bc I am so proud to have it :D
Yesss slither!!! Slither an awesome movie you should get the blob from the 80s it’s just as amazing and very similar to slither 😊
Okay TRIPLE commenting! That Disturbia case is so cool!!
I've been ordering from thriftbooks recently, and while I haven't gotten a library copy yet, I have gotten DVDs from blockbuster.
Goo Gone works wonders on those pesky stickers and sticker residue.
I'm still mad at myself for donating the 2 disc edition of Rose Red in a brain melt moment. What was I thinking???
Is that hard to get now?
I'm happy you have an appreciation for Another Earth, Brit Marling is so underrated!
Also, I noticed you don't have Arrival in your Sci-fi section. If you heaven't seen it you gotta, because it's really good!
I do own Arrival!
@@PossessedbyHorror Ah, ok, I must have missed it! I'm not usually into alien movies but that one is so good!
