- Check PRICE and AVAILABILITY on our site here www.cruisinclassicsinc.com Cruisin Classics would like to proudly offer up for consideration this REAL DEAL, MATCHING NUMBERS, 396CID-375HP, 22,436 ACTUAL MILE 1970 Chevrolet Nova SS. You may verify from the pictures what we are stating. The SS verification comes from the 396-375 combo and it takes a matching number vehicle like ours to confirm that. Going to the new owner is also the Protect-o-Plate for this car.
Underneath the hood accompanying the 396 are stock components to include but not limited to intake manifold, 4 bbl carburetor, ignition, exhaust manifolds and more. Bringing a little bling to engine are the chrome valve covers, breather and master cylinder cover. The compartment itself is clean and managed with only the things necessary to keep it's originality. Paired with the Big Block is the Original Matching Numbers 4-speed, M-22 Muncie Rock Crusher transmission that will give you an honest way to enjoy your rare classic and also a way to make the dual exhaust system sound like moving muscle from days gone by. The 12 bolt rear end has a high probability of being original from the pictured date code verification.
Inside you will find a black bucket seat interior. From headliner to carpet you can see that it has been taken care of with conviction. The shifter on the floor is in the right spot for a fun drive. The dash and cushioned deck lid are untouched by the weather and crack free.
The exterior brings a lot to the table like the SS hood, laser straight sides, SS rally wheels on all 4's surrounded by Cooper Cobra radial G/T's. The power brakes are discs in the front and drums in the rear. While the paint looks awesome in the pictures, it does have some imperfections. It is not show quality. That would be up to the new owner to determine and take the necessary steps to the level that is best suitable for them.
This car is a collector or enthusiasts unicorn. Behold...Original Matching Numbers engine and transmission, extremely low mileage, a REAL SS and it runs like a dream... Pretty much a no-brainer.

Love Novas from '68-'74 time range. Takes me back to my childhood. And this one's a beauty!
This is the top factory built Nova for me. Everything about it screams awesome. A factory hot rod.
My dad had this same car. It was a 1970 ss nova 4speed all original he bought off a lady in 1978. He still talks about that car to this day.
My brother had one exactly the same color but with a black vinyl top SS 396 375 horse. What a beast it was. What a beauty
Sounds like a beast of a ride dude. Alot of speed no sense back then!! Young and bullet proof.
The things me and my buddies did on those cars back then! Omg!! Should all b dead! Lol!
I special ordered one of these when I was in Vietnam Nam. 375 hp, 396 cu.in., Turbo 400, Rally wheels & 3.73 posi. Of course buckets, console & full instrument package. Sticker price ...$3240. Yes I was stupid and sold it in ‘71. Hindsight is always 20/20!!
I had the same car as you ordered. I too wish I had it today!
Bet it was fun while it lasted, thank you for your service also sir
Thank you for your services, but you never bought it bran new for $3200 ,! I bought a new 72 SS with the 350 4 speed and the sticker price $3700 , im sure the BB had to more .
Had three buddies that owned these cars. Saw one at a Caffeine & Octane here in Atlanta last year. It was a family car, dad bought it new. I think it had around 30K miles, had a speeding ticket that his dad got in the car. Big Nova/Chevy II fan myself. For me the '66/L79 is the ticket
3:18 the sound of that door closing shut.👍🏽
If the trans. code designates an M20, it's the wide-ratio stick w/a 2.52:1 first gear. The close ratio M21 had a 2.20:1 first gear. I'm quite certain that when you ordered the L78; an M21 or a T400 were the only 2 transmissions offered.
Knew a guy in Knoxville,Tn.that had a 69 Chevelle SS w/the L78 396 & an M22
Kevin Kendall I purchased “new” in 1969 Chevelle L78 396 /375 HP with a m22 rock crusher 4 speed!
The M21 and wide ratio had the 2.52 first.
M22 had the taller 2.20 1st gear. Hardly any rpm drop 1st to 2nd
My brother had that car in dark blue and bench seat back in the early 70’s .Those bucket seats with that 396/375 were rare.
Very true.
Most of the real SS Cars from those years were bench seat cars. Most with a column shift. If you ordered an SS anything back then with all the bells a nd whistles, including buckets and console they were high dollar!
I'll take over now guys thanks for everything when can I come get it
That 375 hp is a " wink and a nod" rating. My friend had one new in 1970 and it dynoed at Pat's Sinclair shop at runs over 415 hp. Good gas then. You could not keep it straight on the street.
Yes, you could keep them straight on the street. It's just that they were fun as heck to drift them. I bought one new from Nicky Chevrolet in Chicago. It was a 402 cid L78,TH400, Black Cherry paint w/black bench seat interior, and dog-dish hubcaps. Without too much tuning and a few accessories, it ran a best et of 12.01
wish guys would use normal mufflers that are period correct, not flow masters. my 70 olds sounds great with hush thrush that they still make
Completely agree. Hush Thrush are great sounding mufflers.
Just go with factory stock pipes and mufflers all the way. I even have factory stock resonators on my 70 SS 396 Chevelle. It's the best way to go.
@@Deucealive75 Every hot rod in the 70s and 80s had them with turndowns...on a 396 the sound is unique
It's wild that they offered these h/o big blocks in these little cars from the factory.
Beautiful...a true unicorn!!!
Absolutely stunning!!!
I had a 70 Nova 350 4 speed in 83 while racing in the streets in Jersey I ran flew of the road doing about 80 , Lucky I didn't get killed ,But the Nova did , the Fisher frame broke off the body , totaled it!
PRICE????? Can’t sell it if the buyers interested don’t know the price....
i love novas.
Very nice, but lose the Cooper Cobras...get some Wide Ovals!!!
@port nut I agree I dont like fricken flow masters!
@@adriantomlin1362 He is talking about the tires, not the mufflers...LOL!
Bias plys may look more period but suck compared to most radials
Bad Ass 396 Nova, SWEET!!!
Very clean!! Sounds good!!.
Nice! My brother had one of these 1971 SS 396 automatic on console.
There was no 396 in 1971.
Spiked 502 is right . Big block Nova SS run was 68 to 70.
I was wondering if this car is still available Please comment back and let me know one way or the other and what the prices Is
😮 Had a 307 Nova. I LOVE THIS ONE. ❤😍😍
If this car has 22k "actual" miles...then why do the headlight bezels not match the grille like they are supposed to...what happened?
that grill is not the right one if its a 70 396/375 ss so many other things that are not right also.
@@kevinbender1754 Id wanna see dmv printouts or docs to prove the mileage. Its has a lot of work done since so probably doesnt matter
I wouldnt want a 50 yr old drivetrain with old seals anyways
not a ss grill for 1970 ss 396/375 did not come with square door mirror they are round. does not have the ss trim package. etc. not a true ss unless you can show the build sheet or the block# matches vin.
DO YOU ''STILL'' HAVE THE CAR FOR SALE ?
Where are the factory SS gauges on the floor., prove it’s an L78 396, not unheard of, but super rare
These cars back in the day had options you could get it anyway you wanted it ss or not
@@novass7493 Yep! Tachs are novelty items anyways after decades, removing mine. You can tell when its time to shift and under full throttle I cant take my eyes off the road anyways
Museum piece.
Beautiful!!!
No dents in the valve covers from the push rods pop in through the rocker arms.......no kinks in the rear roof pillars from hole shots ........a true trailer queen.........they want WAY MORE than its worth and ya can't buy gas for it
@port nut You need to b a little more optimistic!
Price please?
Where is the picture of the original paperwork showing it being sold as an SS? I have a stamp gun also and can make anything appear something it is not. It is a nice car yet is it a real SS?
Do you all still have this car by any chance? If not, what was the selling price?
Does thjis gentleman still sell Restorods RestoMods Muscle cars with PW AC AT V8 1932-1999 any make 2dr Coupe
She is Beautiful
1 of my top 3 car favorites. Beautiful and fun to drive.
Very nice car nice chop big block the boot thanks for your service GS
Drivers side mirror not correct. Vehicle has been messed with.
Real deal... is that a technical term?
It's code for " we think it is real but can't prove it".
Driver quality paint job??.... What is that? Original?
Transmission decodes as an M20,not a "rockcrusher" like almost everyone claims,it would have a "c' at the end, loons.Study up a little.
@@shobud7561 HaHaHaHaHa, where did you hear that? The M22 is most definitely a Muncie. GM started using B/W Super T10's late 1974. M22 by B/W, HaHaHaHa, I can't believe how dumb some of you are.
Great find. I will give $10 grand for it.
Good down payment
need a running video on the street
with the appropriate rims, nice
What is wrong with the rims?
Nothin mrlalafayette1964 is just sayin it has the correct wheels and their bitchin.
Ok how much did you get, you never mentioned. Please
The best & baddest lookin' car out of whole damn place..no offense tho!
Keeper. Big time. Awesome.
Still for sale?
4 speed manual 🤩
You still have this for sale?
that is a restore
Yep look at the hood hinges they should be semi gloss black also you can see the firewall has been sprayed up. Still a nice ride but without documents it’s not the pot of gold they claim
Unfortunately, they will never, ever, make cars like this again.
wish it was a 69 yenko nova with 427/450 hp...0-60 in 4.7 seconds,,,fastest yenko
Why in the hell would you want to swap engines ? That 396 is as strong as the 427 , plus its an all original car .
@@shobud7561 I somewhat doubt it's real, very few L78 where installed in 70 nova's it wasn't even a list engine option, so all of them had be special ordered. The top official engine was the L34 396\350hp. The fact that it's not documented is a huge red flag as well because without the paper work or protecto plate anyone can easily clone a SS Nova from any two door V8 car. The only thing the matching numbers on the engine and trans proves it that they from a 70' L78 car.
Also the L78 is certainly less powerful than a L72, that bigger bore makes all the difference when comes to making power. The 65' corvette powered by the L78 rated 425hp ran low 14's, the L72 in 66' rated and both 450 and 425hp ran high 12's, trapping 8mph faster using taller gears 3.36:1 vs 3.70:1 in the 396, both 4 speeds.
Go buy one!
The air cleaner is not correct.
Beautiful car how much $???
I am figuring probably 6 figures for that Gem?
Topnotch vehicle
yes sir!! Thank you
SWEET
NOVA......NOVA... NOVA.....SS.......BAD ASS....... ACALA,TX.
Price please🤷♀️
Amazing!!
How much?
Is it sold?
Yes this Nova has been sold for quite some time now.
Beautiful Chevrolet
Just for your information! It is not original! Matching numbers on engine and transmission does not make it a real SS! Those are easily fabricated! It needs ORIGINAL paperwork showing it is an SS also!
Come on guys don't being a-hole just tell us the price
autumn gold looks so much better in monotone
still got her ?? And are you taking offers ??
Yes we still have her...We would be more than happy to get reasonable offers...614-276-7355
nice
Selling price?
This car sold several years ago
How mutch
not original paint, painted drip rails? counsel W/ no guages fuel gauge in dash????? no factory tach.
They're all fakes cause the real deal Novas got crashed either too overs or wrapping around a tree or utility pole!!
Rollover I mean
Used to have one. Mine was black.
Not a 396 its a 402 1970
Chevrolet kept the 396 badging because it was well known, but yes, it was actually a 402
But no price
This car sold almost 2 years ago.
I Dont Like The "Color" But The Car Is "Nice" 🚗 ✌😎
still available?
No, sorry, it was sold some time ago.
@@CruisinClassicsinc I'm looking for a 68-74 Nova with a manual transmission. Preferably a 6 speed but no problems if it's a 4 speed. Coupe, hatchback is fine also.
There’s a lot wrong with that car - nowhere near bone stock original.
Yo tengo un 68 todo original 2 puertas motor 250 jala al 100
none of those numbers match
with slicks10.99tuned stock!!
Get serious.I had 4 of them and with 4.56, headers and slicks they would run 12.2s on a good day/
Grandmother had the same car
just 40000 more to go
❤❤❤ nice
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Vamos chivo!!!
With the right fuel, tires, track conditions etc I bet this would pull a sub 14 in the quarter mile. With a modern high spec non-invasive aftermarket driveline, clutch, maybe flywheel that'd probably mean high 12s.
These vehicles weren't lacking in power and this nova weighs only 3505lbs with all the fluids topped off.. '375' hp after mid 1968 was another way of saying 500 wheel horsepower on the factory recommended fuel grade, lmao.
Let's assume it actually makes 375 wheel hp, still a very high # considering the 3500 curb weight.
The #'s check out and with the right TEMPORARY, NON-INVASIVE, yet MODERN high performance parts to aid the efficient transfer of power to the road would mean 12.6-12.9.. Idk how easy or hard or risky it would be to temporarily remove numbers matching parts to replace with some kind of non invasive modern parts that vastly improve performance to get every drop of power from the majestic beast living under the hood.
Hells Bells, the 350 4 speed 72 bone stock nova i had would run a 14 in a 1/4 mile .
Just the way it sits with a modern drag radial would be waaay faster than 14s. Tires then were tiny and horrible.
Any old car esp one like this simply adding a bit of fuel and tweaking the timing ,headers made a world of difference. Smog was the bane of these cars
👍💪
mine is not nearly as beautifully original but my 1970 Era correct 396 stroker to 435ci has 563hp and is a beast and sounds great.

GM fazed out the 396 in 69...just saying.
Hate to say this but this car is slow to today's standards
Don Cooper true. But this is right before it all went to hell. Performance didn't even start coming back until the mid eighties. But now we get the hp with a v6. But in the day these cars were special.
@@sherrysetliff2502 yup u are rite. I had a 94 cobra which would run with alot of these cars! But wouldn't touch a hellcat or new ZL1
ALL muscle cars of that era were slow compared to today’s plastic fantastic. Soooo what’s your point or do you even have one
Don Cooper. Slower than todays technology, yes. But, if you’ve ever had the pleasure of driving one of these beast, you may then appreciate their power. I have both driven and been a passenger in this very set up in a Nova. They aint slow.
@@ironhorse127 i have a Golf R that will beat that car !
How much?
